All skill levels are welcomed from beginners to advanced swim team members. Our swimming lesson programs consist of six different levels. Below is a brief summary of the various levels.

Level 1: Water Exploration. In this level children are in-troduced to the water and learn how to blow bubbles, kick and float with assistance.

Level 2: Primary Skills. In level two children learn to bob up and down in the water without assistance, flut-ter kick on their stomach as well as their back, and they learn how to float unsupported.

Level 3: Stroke Readiness. In this level children or adults learn the basic mechanics of swimming freestyle and/or backstroke. Emphasis is on learning how to rotary breath correctly when swimming freestyle. Swimmers also learn how to glide underwater with a push-off from the wall.

Level 4: Stroke Development. Level four consists of learning the mechanics of sidestroke, breastroke kick, and how to scull on the back. The survival skill of tread-ing water is also introduced at this level.

Level 5: Stroke Refinement. In level five swimmers con-tinue to improve their strokes and they work on tread-ing water for longer periods of time.

Level 6: Skill Proficiency. Level six is our highest swim-ming level. Swimmers will individually receive instruc-tion on how to perfect the four competitive swim strokes: butterfly, backstroke, breastroke and freestyle. Swimmers will improve their cardiovascular endurance by swimming longer distances. At this level swimmers are challenged based on their ability. Sharon McDonnell Director of Fitness will be instructing this level.
