General/All Areas of Study

Accelerate Greater Charleston Scholarship

Established in 2013 by the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce , the fund assists assist graduating high school seniors who wish to enroll in selected associate degree programs related to STEM, Health Services, Nursing and Culinary/Hospitality.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a new student (includes dual credit students);2) must be a resident Berkeley, Charleston or Dorchester

counties;3) must be a senior participating in a Charleston Metro

Chamber of Commerce Career Academy in one of the following high schools at the time of application to be admitted to TTC:

- Academic Magnet High School - Ashley Ridge High School - Baptist Hill High School - Berkeley High School - Cane Bay High School - Ft. Dorchester High School - Garrett Academy of Technology - Goose Creek High School - Lincoln High School - Lowcountry Tech Academy - Military Magnet Academy - North Charleston High School - Stall High School - St. Johns High School - Summerville High School - Timberland High School - Wando High School - West Ashley High School4) must designate and eventually enroll in an associate degree

programs of study when applying for admission to TTC:5) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours per

semester (full time enrollment preferred); and 6) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or greater (2.0 - 2.9

GPA preferred).

Award amount/use: Award up to $2,000 for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment for recipient’s associate degree program.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. TTC Scholarship

Established in 2012 by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the fund assists students enrolled in any program of study.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a new, returning or continuing student;2) must be a resident of Berkeley, Charleston or Dorchester

county;3) must be enrolled in a program of study;4) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours; 5) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater; and6) must demonstrate financial need (determined from

completed FAFSA form).

Award amount/use: Award of up to $500 for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment.

Saul Alexander Foundation Scholarship

Established in 1952 by Mr. Alexander’s bequest, the Saul Alexander Foundation provides grants to benefit charitable causes in Charleston and Dorchester counties, including TTC’s scholarship program.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a new, returning or continuing student;2) must be a Berkeley, Charleston or Dorchester county

resident;3) must be enrolled in any program of study;4) must enroll in and maintain at least 12 credit hours; and5) must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.

Award amount/use: One-time award of up to $1,000 ($500 for fall semester/$500 for spring semester) for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment.

John E. Blackwell, Sr. Scholarship

Established in 1995 by John Blackwell, the fund assists TTC students enrolled in any program of study.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a new, returning or continuing student;2) must be enrolled in a program of study;3) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours;4) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or greater; and5) must demonstrate financial need (determined from

completed FAFSA form).

Award amount/use: Award of up to $1,000 ($500 for fall semester/$500 for spring semester) for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment.

Dr. Charles W. Branch Scholarship

Established by the late Dr. Charles W. Branch, TTC president from 1985 to 1990, the fund assists students enrolled in an associate degree program who intend to enter the teaching profession.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a returning or continuing student;2) must be enrolled in an associate degree program;3) must enroll in and maintain at least 12 credit hours;4) must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater; and5) must be a current member of Phi Theta Kappa (honor

society).

Award amount/use: Award of up to $650 for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment.

Marion and Wayland H. Cato, Jr. Endowed Scholarship

Established in 2009 by the Wayland H. Cato, Jr. Foundation, the fund assists students enrolled in any associate degree program who demonstrate commitment to a strong work ethic and volunteerism.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a new, returning or continuing student;2) must be a South Carolina resident;3) must be enrolled in an associate degree program;4) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours;5) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater;6) must demonstrate financial need (determined from completed FAFSA form); and7) must demonstrate community service.

Essay Requirement: Applicants are required to provide a brief essay describing; 1) current or past work experiences that demonstrate a strong work ethic and 2) community service experiences that demonstrate commitment to volunteerism. Instructions for submitting the essay will be provided during the application process.

Award amount/use: Award of up to $1,500 ($750 for fall semester/$750 for spring semester) for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment.

Cigar Factory Friends of Eastside Community Endowed Scholarship

Established in 2017 by tenants of the Cigar Factory office building and the Eastside Community Development Corporation,

the fund assists TTC students enrolled in a program of study.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:1) must be a resident of the Eastside Community which is defined as the area bounded by Stuart Street (north), East Bay Street and Morrison Street (east), Meeting Street (west), and Mary Street (south);2) must be enrolled in a program of study;3) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours per semester;4) must demonstrate financial need; and5) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater.

Award amount/use: Award of up to $1,200 for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment.

Dr. Robert N. Clark Academic Scholarship Fund

Established by Phi Theta Kappa in honor of Dr. Robert N. Clark, formerly the senior advisor of the honor society and an English instructor at TTC, the Fund benefits students enrolled in any associate degree program.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a returning or continuing student;2) must be enrolled in an associate degree program;3) must enroll in and maintain at least 12 credit hours;4) must have completed at least 12 credit hours;5) must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater;6) must demonstrate financial need (determined from

completed FAFSA form); and 7) must be a member of Phi Theta Kappa.

Award amount/use: Award of up to $650 for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment.

Exchange Club of Charleston Scholarship

Established by the Exchange Club of Charleston, the fund assists students enrolled in any associate degree program who have a history of community service.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a returning or continuing student;2) must be a Berkeley, Charleston or Dorchester county

resident;3) must be enrolled in an associate degree program;4) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours;5) must have completed at least 24 credit hours;6) must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater;7) must demonstrate financial need (determined from

completed FAFSA form); and

5

8) must demonstrate participation in community service.

Award amount/use: Award of up to $1,200 spring semester for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment.

William and Prudence Finn Endowed Scholarship

Established in 2009 by William and Prudence Finn, the fund assists students enrolled in any program of study.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a new, returning or continuing student;2) must be enrolled in any program of study;3) must enroll in and maintain at least 12 credit hours;4) must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater; and5) must demonstrate financial need (determined from

completed FAFSA form).

Award amount/use:Award of up to $1,500 ($750 for fall semester/$750 for spring semester) for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment.

The Godow Opportunity Fund for Single Parents

Established in 2012 by Rew and Elizabeth Godow, this endowed scholarship fund is designed to make it possible for single parents to enroll in a credit program that will enable them to get the education and training possible to significantly change their economic futures. The Godow Opportunity Fund provides scholarships that supplement other financial assistance in order to provide a student with funds for tuition, fees, books, plus up to $4,000 for living and child care expenses.

Eligibility Criteria (associate degree, certificate, or diploma student): To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) may be a new, returning or continuing student, though preference will be given to new students who would not be able to enroll without the scholarship;

2) must be a resident of Berkeley, Charleston or Dorchester county;

3) must be a single parent;4) must enroll in a associate degree, certificate or diploma

program; 5) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours;6) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or greater;7) must demonstrate substantial financial need (determined

from completed FAFSA form); and8) must provide an essay describing his or her educational and

career goals, the circumstances or challenges the student faces in achieving those goals, and why the scholarship would make a significant difference in helping the student to overcome those challenges or obstacles.

Award amount/use: Awards up to $4,000 (supplementing other financial assistance) to cover direct educational costs, child care and living expenses. The scholarship is renewable for four semesters as long as the recipient continues to meet all eligibility requirements.

Golden Opportunity Scholarship

Established in 2012 by donors to the Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina, the fund assists St. John’s High School seniors who will graduate and then enroll in any program of study at TTC in the current calendar year.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a senior at St. Johns High School (Johns Island, SC) who participates in the Communities in Schools program;

2) must enroll in a TTC associate degree program;3) must enroll in and maintain at least 12 credit hours;4) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.3 or greater;5) must demonstrate financial need (determined from FAFSA

form); 6) must document community service; and7) must provide an essay describing his or her educational

and career goals as well as any circumstances or challenges encountered in pursuit of these goals.

Award amount/use: Award will cover outstanding tuition, books, required course materials and equipment expenses after LTA and need based financial aid is applied.

Ernie Gray Memorial Scholarship for Service

The fund was established by the Alpha Omicron Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society in memory of Ernie Gray, a 1997 TTC graduate, active PTK member, Navy retiree, lifelong learner, supporter of TTC and community servant.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a returning or continuing student;2) must be enrolled in an associate degree or certificate

program;3) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours;4) must have completed at least six credit hours;5) must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater; and6) must document community and/or college service during the

past 12 months.

Award amount/use: Award of up to $325 for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment.

Hawthorne Corporation Scholarship

Established by Vernon Strickland, the fund assists students enrolled in any associate degree or diploma program.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a new, returning or continuing student;2) must be enrolled in an associate degree or diploma program;3) must enroll in and maintain at least 12 credit hours;4) must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater;5) must demonstrate financial need (determined from

completed FAFSA form).

Award amount/use: Award of up to $650 for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment.

Senator Ernest F. Hollings Scholarship

Established by the Trident Technical College Foundation in honor of Sen. Ernest F. Hollings, the fund assists graduates of tri-county area high schools enrolled in any program of study.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a new, returning or continuing student;2) must be a graduate of a high school located in Berkeley,

Established in 2012 by Carolina One Real Estate Services, the fund assists students enrolled in any program of study.

The fund was established in 1993 in honor of Dr. Charles E. Palmer, founder and president of Palmer College, who was instrumental in the merger of Palmer and Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Technical Education Center to form Trident Technical College. The Fund assists students enrolled in any associate degree or diploma program.

parent at some time up to the age of 18.

Summerville Evening Rotary Club Scholarship

Established in 2011 by the Summerville Evening Rotary Club, the fund assists students enrolled in any program of study who have graduated from Ashley Ridge, Ft. Dorchester or Summerville high schools.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a graduate of Dorchester District #2 high schools;2) must be enrolled in a program of study;3) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours; and4) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or greater.

Essay Requirement: Applicants are required to provide a brief essay about the Rotary Four Way Test which states, “Of the Things We Think, Say or Do: Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned?”

SSG Matthew J. Taylor Memorial Scholarship

The fund was established in 2008 in memory of Army Staff Sergeant Matthew J. Taylor, a decorated soldier who completed two deployments in Afghanistan before being killed in action in Iraq. The Fund assists students enrolled in either an associate degree or diploma program who did not complete high school, but have earned a General Education Development (GED) certificate and wish to gain a college education in order to achieve personal, academic and professional goals.

1) must have earned a General Education Development (GED) certificate instead of a high school diploma;

Business TechnologyPatricia Thomas Dupree Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Established in memory of Patricia Thomas Dupree and her lifelong commitment to the accounting profession, the fund assists motivated students enrolled in the Accounting associate degree program.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a new, returning or continuing student;2) must be a Berkeley, Charleston or Dorchester county

resident;3) must be enrolled in the Accounting associate degree

program;4) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours;5) must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater; and6) must demonstrate participation in school, civic and/or

community activities.

Carolyn E. Gilbert Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Established by Norman and Margureite Gilbert in memory of Carolyn Gilbert, who despite being born with spina bifida was an honor graduate of St. Andrews High School and completed the Accounting associate degree program with a 4.0 GPA. The fund assists students enrolled in several programs of study.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a new, returning or continuing student;2) must be enrolled in Accounting program. If no eligible

candidates apply, an applicant must be enrolled in the Automotive Technology, Physical and Occupational Therapy or Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Mechanics program;

3) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours;4) must have completed at least six credit hours; and5) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater.

Award amount/use: Award of up to $650 for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment. The award is renewable for three years if seeking an associate degree and

for two years if pursuing a certificate or diploma as long as the recipient continues to meet all eligibility criteria.

Virginia B. Gourdin Scholarship

Established in 2009 by the Estate of Virginia B. Gourdin, the fund assists students enrolled in the Hospitality & Tourism Management, General Business or Management programs.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a new, returning or continuing female student;2) must be enrolled in one of the following association degree

1) must be a new, returning or continuing student;2) must be a Berkeley County resident;3) must be enrolled in an associate degree program related

to Network Systems Management, Computer Technology, Business, Engineering Technology, Nursing, Allied Health or Veterinary Technology;

4) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours; and5) must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.

Carole J. Martin Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Established in 2017 by James W. Martin in memory of Carole J. Martin. Carole J. (Horton) Martin, a descendant of Barnabus Horton who settled on Long Island, NY in the 1600’s, was born and raised in Parma, Michigan. She graduated from Western Michigan University, where she majored in Business and Education; was a high school Business and Math Teacher; and, was a devoted wife and mother. Carole was an educator at heart and an advocate for education, herself having graduated Valedictorian from high school and thereafter was equally successful in college and all her pursuits. Her teaching credits included Michigan, Ohio, and Georgia and she maintained an active role in Parent Teacher Associations as an educator and parent.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:1) must be a resident of Berkeley, Charleston or Dorchester counties; 2) must be enrolled in one of the following associate degree programs: Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Accounting, Business Administration (any career path), Management (any career path); 3) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours per semester (full-time enrollment preferred); and4) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater.

Russell F. Moon Scholarship

Established by TTC faculty and staff, friends and family to honor Russell F. Moon for his many years of dedication to the college and his students, the fund assists students enrolled in an associate degree program in the Business Technology Division.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a returning or continuing student;2) must be enrolled in an associate degree program in the

Business Technology Division;4) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours;5) must have completed at least 24 credit hours; and6) must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.

Top Programmer Scholarship

Established in 2008 by Tom Pinckney III, a TTC alumnus, the fund assists students enrolled in the associate degree Computer

Technology-Computer Programming career path program.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a returning or continuing student;2) must be enrolled in the associate degree Computer

Technology-Computer Programming career path program;4) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours;5) must have completed at least one of the following courses,

achieving a grade of ‘A’ in at least one of them: - CPT 167 (Introduction to Programming Logic) or its

predecessor CPT 232 (C++ Programming I) - CPT 187 (Object-Oriented Logic and Design) or its

predecessor CPT 233 (C++ Programming II); and6) must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.

Established with a bequest from Susan F. Wallace, a former student and administrative specialist for the Business Technology Division, in appreciation of the assistance given to her by firemen from the town of Mt. Pleasant, the fund assists students enrolled in the associate degree in Business (Fire Service career path) program.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a new, returning or continuing student;2) must be a Berkeley, Charleston or Dorchester county

resident;3) must be employed by and remain employed by a county,

municipal or public service district fire department in South Carolina;

4) must be enrolled in the associate degree in Business (Fire Service career path) program;

5) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours;6) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater; and7) must demonstrate financial need (determined from

completed FAFSA form).

Dr. Archie Lugenbeel Scholarship Fund

Established by Dr. Archie Lugenbeel, former dean of TTC’s Allied Health Sciences division, the fund assists students enrolled in selected associate degree and diploma programs in the Allied Health Science Division.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a returning or continuing student;2) must be a second-year student enrolled in the Occupational

Therapy Assistant, Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiologic Technology or Respiratory Care program;

Established in memory of Albert Bruno Prouvost, former president of PLUSA, Inc., the fund assists students enrolled associate degree programs in the Industrial and Engineering Technology, Allied Health or Nursing divisions.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a new, returning or continuing student;2) must be a Berkeley County resident;3) must be enrolled in an associate degree program in the

Industrial and Engineering Technology, Allied Health or Nursing divisions;

4) must enroll in and maintain at least 12 credit hours; and5) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater.

Award amount/use: Award of up to $650 for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment.

Smith Family Foundation Scholarship

Established in 2017 the Smith Family Foundation, the fund benefits students enrolled in Nursing or certain Health Science programs.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:1) must be a U.S. citizen and a Berkeley, Charleston or Dorchester county resident; 2) must be enrolled in any Nursing program or one of the following Health Sciences programs: EMT, Medical Lab Technology, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Care or Veterinary Technology associate degree program; Pharmacy Technician diploma program; EMT, Advanced EMT or Pharmacy Technician certificate programs; 3) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater (new students with GED exempt);4) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours per semester; and 5) must demonstrate a financial need.

Nursing, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Care and Veterinary Technology students will apply through the online scholarship application in January and February.

EMT, Pharmacy Technician and Medical Lab Technician students will apply later in the year by paper application through their program coordinators.

Award amount/use: Award of up to $1,000 for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment.

South Carolina Association of Veterinarians Scholarship

Established in 2009 by the South Carolina Association of Veterinarians, the fund assists students enrolled in the Veterinary Technology program of study.

Established in 1992 in memory of Joyce Wohnig, the fund benefits students enrolled in diploma program for Medical Assisting.

Humanities and Social SciencesSharon & William Asbill Assoc. in Arts & Science

Established in 2007 by Sharon and William Asbill, the fund assists students enrolled in either the Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree program who intend to transfer to a four-year college to complete a four-year degree and who have delayed the start or completion of their higher education goals because of family, financial or health reasons.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, applicants:

1) must be a new, returning or continuing student;2) must be enrolled in the either the Associate in Arts or

Associate in Science degree (transfer) program;3) must enroll in and maintain at least 6 credit hours; and 4) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater.

Essay Requirement: Applicants are required to provide a brief essay describing educational and career goals and the circumstances that the applicant had to overcome to continue their higher education goals. Instructions for submitting the essay will be provided during the application process.

Award amount/use: Award of up to $2,000 ($1,000 for fall semester/$1,000 for spring semester) for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment. The award is renewable for one year as long as the recipient continues to meet all eligibility criteria.

William Davis Memorial Scholarship

Established in 2013 by Elise Davis-McFarland, the fund assists students enrolled in the Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degree programs.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a new, returning or continuing student;2) must be enrolled in the Associate of Arts and Associate of

Science degree program of study:3) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours;4) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or greater;5) must demonstrate financial need (determined from

Established in 2006 by Patricia Gibson who served as Dean in both Student Services and Academic Affairs, the fund assists students enrolled in the Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree programs who intend to enter the teaching profession.

1) must be a returning or continuing student;2) must be a Berkeley, Charleston or Dorchester county

resident;3) must be enrolled in the Associate in Arts or Associate in

Established in memory of TTC English instructor Andrea Harrison, a dedicated professional who earned a high degree of respect from students and colleagues, the fund assists students enrolled in the Associate of Arts degree program.

Carole J. Martin Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Established in 2017 by James W. Martin in memory of Carole J. Martin. Carole J. (Horton) Martin, a descendant of Barnabus Horton who settled on Long Island, NY in the 1600’s, was born and raised in Parma, Michigan. She graduated from Western Michigan University, where she majored in Business and Education; was a high school Business and Math Teacher; and, was a devoted wife and mother. Carole was an educator at heart and an advocate for education, herself having graduated Valedictorian from high school and thereafter was equally

successful in college and all her pursuits. Her teaching credits included Michigan, Ohio, and Georgia and she maintained an active role in Parent Teacher Associations as an educator and parent.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:1) must be a resident of Berkeley, Charleston or Dorchester counties; 2) must be enrolled in one of the following associate degree programs: Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Accounting, Business Administration (any career path), Management (any career path); 3) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours per semester (full-time enrollment preferred); and4) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater.

Anna and John Woolson Scholarship

Established in 2009 by Cathy Almquist in honor of her mother, Anna Woolson, and John Woolson, the Fund assists students enrolled in Associate in Arts programs of study

1) must be a new, returning or continuing student;2) must be a South Carolina resident;3) must be enrolled in the Horticulture program;4) must enroll in and maintain at least 6 credit hours;5) must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater;6) must demonstrate financial need (determined from

Baker Motor Company Scholarship

Established in 2017 by Tommy Baker, the Fund assists students in the Automotive Technology associate degree program who desire to work in an automotive environment that requires a high degree of technical competency, professionalism and commitment.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater;2) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours per semester;3) must have a class attendance rate of 90% or greater;4) must have a valid driver’s license; 5) must complete the Automotive Servicing Certificate program and commit to completing the Automotive Technology associate degree program.

Recipients are expected to dress and present themselves in a professional manner.

Award amount/use: Award of up to $1,000 for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment.

Maraleius Birdsong/Domino’s Pizza Scholarship

Established in 2012 by Teresa Gardner and Domino’s Pizza in memory of Maraleius Birdsong, the fund assists students enrolled in selected Industrial Technology and Culinary Institute of Charleston associate degree programs.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a new, returning or continuing student;2) must be a South Carolina resident;3) must be enrolled in one of the following associate degree

programs: - General Technology - Career Path: Electrician -

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a new or returning student; preference given to new

4) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours; full-time enrollment (12 or more hours) preferred; and

The two recipients of the BP Industrial Technology Scholarship with the highest GPAs (must be 3.0 or greater) will be eligible for a one-time renewal of the scholarship for the next academic year.

Established in 2016 by Ron and Myriam Owens in memory of Dean Britt, Jr., the fund assists TTC students enrolled in the Civil Engineering Technology associate degree or Surveying certificate program.

to Network Systems Management, Computer Technology, Business, Engineering Technology, Nursing, Allied Health or Veterinary Technology;

Established by the Snee Farm Garden Club, the fund assists students enrolled in the Horticulture Technology program who have financial need.

1) must be a new, returning or continuing student; 2) must be a Charleston County resident (preference will be

Established in 2016 by Philip and Rebecca Ufkes, the fund assists students enrolled in selected Aeronautical Studies, Engineering Technology and Industrial Technology programs of study.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be enrolled in an associate degree or certificate program in Aeronautical Studies or Engineering Technology, or certificate programs in Electrician: Automated Controls, Construction or Industrial; 2) must a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or greater;3) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours per semester; and 4) must demonstrate financial need.

Award amount/use: Award of up to $2,000 for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment.

Venture Aerobearings Scholarship

Established in 2015 by Venture Aerobearings, LLC, the Fund assists students enrolled in Electrical Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineering Technology programs of study.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a resident of Berkeley, Charleston or Dorchester counties;

2) must be enrolled in one of the following associate degree programs:

a. Electrical Engineering Technology b. Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) c. MET – career path: Manufacturing and Assembly4) 3) must enroll in and maintain at least 6 credit hours per

semester (full time enrollment preferred);4) must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater;5) must demonstrate financial need (determined from

completed FAFSA form).

Preference given to full time enrollment and under-represented/under-served populations as defined by TTC.

Recipient will agree to formally meet with company representatives during the academic year that they receive the award.

Law-Related StudiesEicher Family Scholarship

Established in 2009 by Shelly and Keith Eicher in honor of their adopted son, Troy J. Eicher, and in memory of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Eicher, Mrs. Ardane Peck and Mr. Roy Straub; the fund assists students enrolled in the Human Services or Criminal Justice associate degree programs of study.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a new, returning or continuing student;2) must be a Berkeley, Charleston or Dorchester county

resident;3) must be enrolled in one of the following associate degree

programs: - Human Services – career path Generalist - Criminal Justice4) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours; and5) must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.

Lex Artis Scholarship

The fund assists students enrolled in the Legal Assistant associate degree program or the Paralegal certificate program who are active members of Lex Artis (the college’s Paralegal Student Organization) and are providing exemplary service to that organization, TTC and the community.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a returning or continuing student;2) must be enrolled in the Legal Assistant associate degree

program or Paralegal certificate program;3) must enroll in and maintain at least 6 credit hours;4) must have completed at least six credit hours;5) must have

a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater; and5) must demonstrate active membership and exemplary service

to Lex Artis, TTC and the community through participation in Lex Artis-sponsored events and activities.

Award amount/use: Two awards of up to $250 for tuition.

Coleman D. Knight Jr. Memorial Scholarship

Established in 2017 by Amy Knight, in memory of her husband, retired Mount Pleasant Police Department Major Coleman D. Knight Jr., the fund assists students enrolled in certain Law-Related Studies associate degree programs of study.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a resident of Berkeley, Charleston or Dorchester counties;

2) must be enrolled one of the following associate degree programs:

a. Criminal Justice b. Homeland Security Management3) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours per

semester;4) must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater;5) must demonstrate financial need (determined from

completed FAFSA form); and6) must complete an essay describing educational and career

goals and how the scholarship will help achieve those goals.

Award amount/use: Award of up to $1,000 ($500 for fall

semester/$500 for spring semester) for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment.

NursingCharleston County Forty & Eight Nurses Training Scholarship

Established in 2004 by the Charleston County Forty & Eight, Voiture 974 in honor of all veterans and in recognizition of the importance of the nursing profession, the fund assists TTC students enrolled in the associate degree Nursing (ADN) program.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a returning or continuing student;2) must be enrolled in the associate degree Nursing (ADN)

program;3) must be enrolled in or must have completed NUR158 and

NUR159 at the time of application for the scholarship;4) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours; and5) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or greater.

Award amount/use: Award of up to $1,000 ($500 for fall semester/$500 for spring semester) for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment.

R.L. Helmly Family Endowed Scholarship

Established by the Hopewell Foundation and Home Telephone Company in 2003, the fund assists students enrolled in selected associate degree programs.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a new, returning or continuing student;2) must be a Berkeley County resident;3) must be enrolled in an associate degree program related

to Network Systems Management, Computer Technology, Business, Engineering Technology, Nursing, Allied Health or Veterinary Technology;

4) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours; and5) must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.

Essay Requirement: Applicants are required to provide a statement about their talents, affiliation, activities and accomplishments that demonstrate leadership potential and good character. Instructions for submitting the essay will be provided during the application process.

Award amount/use: Award of up to $1,000 ($500 for fall semester/$500 for spring semester) for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment. The award is renewable up

Nir Devi Khadge Scholarship

Established in 2017 by Niresh Khadge in memory of Nir Devi Khadge, the fund assists students enrolled in any Nursing Division program.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be enrolled in a Nursing Division program; 2) must have completed less than 12 credit hours; 3) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours per semester; and 4) must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater

Award amount/use: Award of up to $500 for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment.

Albert Bruno Prouvost Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Established in memory of Albert Bruno Prouvost, former president of PLUSA, Inc., the fund assists students enrolled associate degree programs in the Industrial and Engineering Technology, Allied Health or Nursing divisions.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a new, returning or continuing student;2) must be a Berkeley County resident;3) must be enrolled in an associate degree program in the

Industrial and Engineering Technology, Allied Health or Nursing divisions;

4) must enroll in and maintain at least 12 credit hours; and5) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater;

Award amount/use: Award of up to $650 for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment.

Bill and Sarah Settlemyer Scholarship

Established in 2012 by Bill and Sarah Settlemyer, the fund assists students enrolled in nursing programs of study.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a returning or continuing student;2) must be enrolled in a nursing associate degree, certificate or

diploma program;3) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours; 4) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or greater

Award amount/use: Award of up to 1,000 ($500 for fall semester/$ 500 for spring semester) for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment.

Smith Family Foundation Scholarship

Established in 2017 the Smith Family Foundation, the fund benefits students enrolled in Nursing or certain Health Science programs.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:1) must be a U.S. citizen and a Berkeley, Charleston or Dorchester county resident; 2) must be enrolled in any Nursing program or one of the following Health Sciences programs: EMT, Medical Lab Technology, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Care or Veterinary Technology associate degree program; Pharmacy Technician diploma program; EMT, Advanced EMT or Pharmacy Technician certificate programs; 3) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater (new students with GED exempt);4) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours per semester; and 5) Must demonstrate a financial need.

Nursing, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Care and Veterinary Technology students will apply through the online scholarship application in January and February.

EMT, Pharmacy Technician, Medical Lab Technician students will apply later in the year by paper application through their program coordinators.

Award amount/use: Award of up to $1,000 for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment.

Donald and Emily Winckles Scholarship

Established in 2013 by Sharon Holden in honor of her parents, the fund assists students enrolled in the Nursing (LPN to ADN Option) associate degree or Practical Nursing diploma program of study.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a new, returning or continuing student;2) must be a resident of Berkeley, Charleston or Dorchester

counties;3) must be enrolled in the Nursing associate degree or Practical

Nursing diploma program of study;4) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours; and 5) must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater.

Established in 2007 by Sharon and William Asbill, the fund assists students enrolled in either the Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree program who intend to transfer to a four-year college to complete a four-year degree and who have delayed the start or completion of their higher education goals because of family, financial or health reasons.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, applicants:

1) must be a new, returning or continuing student;2) must be enrolled in the either the Associate in Arts or

Associate in Science degree (transfer) program;3) must enroll in and maintain at least 6 credit hours; and 4) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater.

Essay Requirement: Applicants are required to provide a brief essay describing educational and career goals and the circumstances that the applicant had to overcome to continue their higher education goals. Instructions for submitting the essay will be provided during the application process.

Award amount/use: Award of up to $2,000 ($1,000 for fall semester/$1,000 for spring semester) for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment. The award is renewable for one year as long as the recipient continues to meet all eligibility criteria.

William Davis Memorial Scholarship

Established in 2013 by Elise Davis-McFarland, the fund assists students enrolled in the Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degree programs.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a new, returning or continuing student;2) must be enrolled in the Associate of Arts and Associate of

Science degree program of study:3) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours;4) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or greater;5) must demonstrate financial need (determined from

completed FAFSA form);6) must intend to transfer to and graduate from a four year

college or university after completing program of study at TTC.

Preference given to historically under-represented and under-served populations as defined by TTC.

Award amount/use: Award of up to $1,000 ($500 for fall semester/$500 for spring semester) for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment.

Patricia Barrack Gibson Endowed Scholarship

Established in 2006 by Patricia Gibson who served as Dean in both Student Services and Academic Affairs, the fund assists students enrolled in the Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree programs who intend to enter the teaching profession.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a returning or continuing student;2) must be a Berkeley, Charleston or Dorchester county

resident;3) must be enrolled in the Associate in Arts or Associate in

Science degree program;4) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours;5) must have completed at least 12 credit hours;6) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater;7) must document tutoring experience at TTC or with

another organized tutoring program in the community or demonstrate participation in community service.

Established in 2009 by Suzanne Barr and James “Dub” Green, the fund assists students enrolled in the Associate in Science program.

1) must be a returning or continuing student;2) must be a Berkeley, Charleston or Dorchester county

resident;3) must be enrolled in the Associate in Science program;4) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours;5) must have completed at least 12 credit hours; and6) must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.

Carole J. Martin Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Established in 2017 by James W. Martin in memory of Carole J. Martin. Carole J. (Horton) Martin, a descendant of Barnabus Horton who settled on Long Island, NY in the 1600’s, was born and raised in Parma, Michigan. She graduated from Western Michigan University, where she majored in Business and Education; was a high school Business and Math Teacher; and, was a devoted wife and mother. Carole was an educator at

heart and an advocate for education, herself having graduated Valedictorian from high school and thereafter was equally successful in college and all her pursuits. Her teaching credits included Michigan, Ohio, and Georgia, and she maintained an active role in Parent Teacher Associations as an educator and parent.
