Management, has organized “Rhythm”- a two days induction

program for welcoming M.B.A. first year students. The th thprogram was held on 5 and 6 August began with an

inauguration ceremony by Dr. Sachin Vernekar, Director,

IMED, Bharti Vidyapeeth, Pune, Dr. Daniel Penkar, Director,

S.B.Patil Institute of Management, Nigdi along with

Dr. H.D.Thorat-Research Head and Dr. Kirti Dharwadkar-

Dean, S.B. Patil Institute of Management.

Chief Guest of the programme, Dr. Sachin Vernekar gave a

'success mantra' to the students by saying that in the world of

competition every student must stay focused. Dr. Daniel

Penkar addressed the new faces with his motivational words

stating that life is full of struggle. We must face it with

confidence, passion, commitment and consistency.

Dr. Hansraj Thorat focused upon planning and execution of

the routine chores for the professional management students.

Dr. Kirti Dharwadkar discussed and elaborated the institute's

policy, code of conduct and revised pattern of syllabus.

Mr. Akshay Deo, Manager HR, Carrero Group shared the

difficulties faced by new employees in the organizations and

guided students with his experience. Mr. Avinash Mishra, HR,

Novartis spoke about how right efforts can help to gain right

exposure in the organisaiton.

January 26, 2015: S. B. Patil Institute of Management had

organized the fourth Institute Parents Partnership Program 3 th(IP ) for the academic year 2014-2015 on 26 January from

9.30 am to 12.00 pm .This meet was organized to create an

open forum discussion between the institute and parents for

developing our students for their future career. Dr. Daniel

Penkar, Director of SBIPM in his inaugural speech

explained about the institute's role in the overall

development of the students and emphasized that

“knowledge is the key factor for the development of the

mankind”, so management graduate students should read

books apart from the syllabus, which will help them in

developing their ideology and intelligent quotient to

become a better decision maker, which is the need of time

and the corporate world as well.

Dr.Kirti Dharwadkar- Dean Academics SBPIM gave brief

information about teaching methodology, extracurricular

activities conducted in SBPIM. Dr.Hansraj Thorat – Head

Research – SBPIM explained about the research activities

conducted by SBPIM's research department and offered

vote of thanks to all the parents.

Convergence- 2015, The Third Alumni meet was

successfully conducted at S. B. Patil Institute of Management, stNigdi, Pune on 21 February 2015. While addressing the

alumni Dr. Daniel Penkar, Director, SBPIM gave a message to

the alumni that they should contribute to the welfare of their

Alma Mater. Some of the active alumni in coordination with

the faculty members can utilize the synergy of this platform to

provide the training, placement opportunities and resource

sharing with their juniors. Some of our alumni have provided

good career opportunities for the current students. Most of

Sports are a very important part of our lives. Besides keeping you fit & healthy, sports helps gain virtues such as discipline, resilience, teamwork and courage. It teaches an excellent lesson on winning & losing, nurturing the seeds of success.

th stSBPIM organised an intercollegiate sports event Yuvotsav-2015 on the 30 & 31 January in the college premises. Colleges in and around Pune region were invited for the event. The event – Yuvotsav 2015 included games like Football, Basketball & Volleyball.

SBPIM got a very good response for the event, around 40 teams were registered.

Students of SBPIM celebrated Teacher's Day on th5 September 2014, for giving their regards and honor to

all the teachers. The teachers were welcomed and

felicitated with a token of love. There were speeches

given by the students about Dr. Sarwapalli

Radhakrishnan. Then came the fun part of the program

i.e. game zone, were teachers had a blast while playing

the game and students could see the joy and enthusiasm

being reflected on teachers.

ndMBA 2 year students of SBPIM had organized a

sumptuous fresher's eve for their juniors, aptly called a

Freshers' Eve. The party was organized on September th 13 2014. The fresher's eve began with a difference with

pulsating ambience, flashing lights and foot tapping

music. As the mercury began to rise, the dance floor was

left open for some unbridled exuberance. Colors of joy,

happiness, togetherness could be seen in students as well

as faculty members. The fascinating outcome of this

event is that every “fresher” to SBPIM feels like an

integral part of SBPIM family.

Zing 2015 is organized every year at PCET's S.B. Patil Institute of Management, Nigdi with the objective of developing the extra-curricular and cultural talents of the students, improving their capabilities to work as a team and raising their level of self-confidence in interacting with fellow students and peers.

Industry visits sensitize students to the practical challenges

that organizations face in the business world. Industrial visits

also give greater clarity about various management concepts

for students as they can practically see how these concepts

are put into action. The visit also provides first-hand

operation in different industries. Aim of this visit was to go

thProgram” was conducted on 14 March, 2015 for the students of Semester II, First year in the Seminar Hall.

The speakers were Dr. Daniel Penkar, Director, SBPIM, Dr. Hansraj Thorat, Research Head & Prof. Aishwarya Gopalakrishnan, SIP & Dissertation Co-Ordinator.

Dr. Daniel Penkar started the session by saying that our institute takes a great pride in having a lecture on SIP because SBPIM is the only institute that conducts such an activity and because of which many of the students from previous batches have won many prizes for preparing and presenting good reports.

SPORTS WEEK 2014


th thSports Week – 2015 is organized from 9 & 10 February 2015 at S.B.Patil Institute of Management. Sports week included

both indoor and outdoor games were arranged to encourage active participation of students.

“Sports” are the great source of inspiration, it nurtures various Nobel values like sportsman's spirit, honesty, punctuality,

regularity, team spirit, leadership, obedience integrity and with relation to management it teaches us team building,

motivation, leadership coordination amongst individuals.

The sports week at SBPIM was entirely designed, managed & executed by students under the supervision of faculty sports

coordinators. It served the purpose of management learning through sports activities. Qualities like leadership, team player

etc. were showcased by students. Sports week included sports like “Cricket, Basket Ball, Football, Volleyball,

Throwball, Table Tennis, Chess and Carrom”.
