Sports Week – 2018 is organized from 7th
, 8th
and 9th
February 2018 at PCET’s
S. B. Patil Institute of Management. Sports week included both indoor and outdoor games were
arranged to encourage active participation of students.
“Sports” are the great source of inspiration, it nurtures various Nobel values like
sportsman’s spirit, honesty, punctuality, regularity, team spirit, leadership, obedience integrity
and with relation to management it teaches us team building, motivation, leadership coordination
amongst individuals.
The sports week at SBPIM was entirely designed, managed & executed by students under
the supervision of faculty sports coordinators. It served the purpose of management learning
through sports activities. Qualities like leadership, team player etc. were showcased by students.
Sports week included sports like “Outdoor games like Cricket, Football, Basketball,
Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, and Indoor Games like Chess, Carrom,, Table Tennis and Badminton”
This time we have organized sports for faculty too in which they participated and proved to be
sportsmen.
The Value of sports and games is today recognized by all educationalists. Books develop
our minds but games develop our body. Games if properly played, not only makes our body solid
and muscular but also fill our body with strength and energy. Sports provide freshness to our
mind and absorb in us many qualities

In current Academic year student also participated in Inter-collegiate Sports arranged by
Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune in following games Fooball, Cricket and Basketball.
SBPIM has reached to Semi-Finals of Intercollegiate Football Tournament arranged by
Savitribai Phule Pune University, Where 62 teams have participated in the event.
SBPIM have also arranged for YUVOTSAV – 15 an Inter-collegiate Sports Competition
which includes, Volleyball, Basketball and Football.

To give a blend of learning, fun and experience the students of MBA I and II
SBPIM had celebrated cultural fest from 4th
Feb to 8th
Feb 2014. The programs
conducted were “DAYS, ZING and FUNFAIR”. Days like Traditional, Red and
Black, Western, Professional, Bollywood were celebrated. ZING , a talent
competition was organized for the students to showcase their talent .Various
competitions like creative cooking, vegetable art, rangoli, dance, singing, fashion
show, photography, bollywood quiz, face painting, camel hunt, best out of waste,
mad-ads, debate, treasure hunt, in a minute, were conducted. Funfair with the
theme, hunger and starvation having food stalls and various games were put up
by the students

ZING - 2015
THE CULTURAL FEST The ZING-2015: SBPIM Cultural Fest, an intra-college event which was held from Feb 11th to
14th was very successful and undoubtedly appreciated amongst the students and staff.
Zing 2015 is organized every year at PCET’s S.B. Patil Institute of Management, Nigdi with the
objective of developing the extra-curricular and cultural talents of the students, improving their
capabilities to work as a team and raising their level of self-confidence in interacting with fellow
students and peers.
ZING was declared open by Dr. Daniel Penkar, Director SBPIM. It began with a bang on 11th
Feb 2015 with ‘Management Day’ where competitions like Business Plan, Case study,
Management quiz, Mock Stock, 1 Minute Manager, Mad Ads were held. This was followed by
Cultural competitions like Bollywood Quiz , Masterchef: Juice Making ,Treasure Hunt,
Vegetable Art, Best Out Of Waste, Face Painting & Tatoo Making, Paper Dress Designing, IN-
A-Minute, Mimickry, Singing, Dance Competition, Fashion Show. With lots of enthusiasm
‘ZING FUNFAIR’ was also organized on 13th of Feb where food, game and music stalls were
put by the students which provided a platform to learn business.
Winners and participants of the competitions were awarded certificates, trophies on the ‘Prize
distribution ceremony’ held on 16th of Feb 2015 by Hon. Director, Dean-Kirti Dharwadkar,
Research Head-H.D. Thorat. The event organizers were Prof. Pranita Burbure, Prof. Kajal
Maheshwari, all faculties-coordinators and students.
S.B. Patil Institute of Management Organized Industrial Visit to Baramati , Dist .
Pune P.C.E.T’s S.B. Patil Institue of Management students had an Industrial visit
to Malegaon Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Ltd , Cotton King India Pvt. Ltd .and
Agricultural Development Trust located at Tal. Baramati , Dist. Pune on 18-02-
2015 . The visit was organized by Agri tourism Co. Pvt. Ltd. Pune . Industry visits
sensitize students to the practical challenges that organizations face in the business
world. Industrial visits also give greater clarity about various management
concepts for students as they can practically see how these concepts are put into
action. The visit also provides first-hand knowledge about the organizational
structures and modes of operation in different industries. Aim of this visit was to
go beyond academics, these visits are arranged to develop the insights of the
students – attaining practical knowledge and their theoretical applications
During the visit students learnt the manufacturing process of Sugar & Readymade
Garments. The students got an opportunity to interact with the engineers and
technical staff and learnt about the work atmosphere and various functional areas
like Manufacturing process, Plant Layout, Lean Management, Quality control,
Supply chain , Packaging, Management of demand/supply, New product
development and other major operations of the manufacturing units . The company
officials informed the students about the standard operating procedures followed in
the company. Company`s officials were impressed by the initiative and inquisitive
attitude of the students and provided a thorough sneak into core business areas.
Apart from Manufacturing Engineering Industry this visit provided the students an
exposure to Agri Farming Business. At Agricultural Development Trust students
experienced various aspects of Agricultural life viz farming as not only for living
but for earning, through getting multiple crops with the help of modern and
flexible technology, developing breeds for livestock, profitability with
sustainability via organic farming. This will prove to be of great use towards
motivating students for opting Agri Business and Agri Business Solutions. This
visit helped the students to correlate concepts learn in the classroom and practical
applications. Overall the visit was highly knowledgeable to students and it
inculcated a feeling of professionalism in them. The visit was organized by Dr.
Manoj Gadre and accompanied by Prof. Anishkumar Karia & Prof. Pranita
Burbure ,51 students of MBA –I attended the visit.

THE CULTURAL FEST 15
th to 19
th February 2016 marks the celebration of Zing -The Cultural Fest-2016 at PCET’s S.B.
Patil Institute of Management, Nigdi, Pune. The Zing begun with a grand inauguration ceremony
by Dr. Daniel Penkar, the Director, S.B. Patil Institute of Management and Dr. Kirti
Dharwadkar, Dean Academics.
The Zing-2016 witnessed the enthusiastic celebration of the Fun-Days, Zing and Funfair 2016.
The highlight of the event was the overwhelming participation of the students as well as staff
SBPIM.
‘Days’ like Blue and Black day, Sports Wear, Kings and Queens Day, Traditional Day and
Twins Day: Hairstyle and Wig were celebrated which aroused great zel in the campus. The
winners of the Five celebrated days as ‘Best Dressed Female’ are Ms. Sadiya Siddhiqui, Ms.
Neha Ramchandani, Ms. Sankalpa Mane, Ms. Monika Shukla, Ms. Prerna Anand. Also ‘Best
Dressed Male’ are Mr. Jaismon, Mr. Akshay Bhase, Mr. Albin Sebi, Mr. Waseem Sayad and Mr.
Vishal Nikam.

THE CULTURAL FEST To give a blend of learning, fun and experience the students of MBA I and II SBPIM had
celebrated cultural fest from 13th
Feb 2017 to 17th
Feb 2017. The programs conducted were
“DAYS, ZING and FUNFAIR”. Days like Traditional, Red and Black, Western, Professional,
Bollywood were celebrated. ZING , a talent competition was organized for the students to
showcase their talent .Various competitions like creative cooking, vegetable art, rangoli, dance,
singing, fashion show, photography, Bollywood quiz, face painting, camel hunt, best out of
waste, mad-ads, debate, treasure hunt, in a minute, were conducted. Funfair with food stalls and
various games were put up by the students and faculties.
To give a blend of learning, fun and experience the students of MBA I and II SBPIM had
celebrated cultural fest ZING, a talent competition was organised for the students to showcase
their talent in various Management, Cultural competitions and funfair which was organised from

to 17th
Feb 2017. The fest is a combination of learning, fun and experience for the students.
Days like Traditional, Historical Figure, Halloween, Mismatch and Valentine red day were
celebrated.. Various competitions like creative cooking, Paper dress designing, Rangoli, dance,
singing, fashion show, bollywood quiz, and one minute manager were conducted. A Funfair was
organized by the teachers and students, where they put up food stalls and various games.
To recognize the students and faculty’s talent and achievements, Zing 2017 Prize Distribution
ceremony was held on 25th
March 2017. The occasion was graced by Asian Boxing Champion
and “Arjuna Awardee”- Capt.Gopal Narayan Devang (Retd) and Chariman, Indian Boxing
Selection Committee who was the chief guest. The beloved Trustee of Pimpri Chinchwad
Education Trust, Shri Bhaijan Kazi graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. The students
and faculty members were equally delighted with the certificates and awards they won.

ZING - 2018
THE CULTURAL FEST The ZING-2018: SBPIM Cultural Fest, an intra-college event which was held on Feb 12th, 14th and
15th was very successful and undoubtedly appreciated amongst the students and staff.
Zing 2015 is organized every year at PCET‟s S.B. Patil Institute of Management, Nigdi with the
objective of developing the extra-curricular and cultural talents of the students, improving their
capabilities to work as a team and raising their level of self-confidence in interacting with fellow
students and peers.
ZING was declared open by Dr. Daniel Penkar, Director SBPIM. It began with a bang on 11th Feb
2018 with Management Day where competitions like Business Plan, Case study, Management quiz,
Mock Stock, 1 Minute Manager, Mad Ads were held. This was followed by Cultural competitions
like Bollywood Quiz , Creative cooking without fire, Mehendi & Tatoo Making, Paper Dress
Designing, Singing, Dance Competition, Fashion Show. With lots of enthusiasm “ZING FUNFAIR”
was also organized where food, game and music stalls were put by the students which provided a
platform to learn business.
Winners and participants of the competitions were awarded certificates, trophies on the Prize
distribution ceremony held on 28th of March 2018 by Hon. Director Dr.Daniel Penkar, Head
Academics Dr.Kirti Dharwadkar, and Head Research H.D. Thorat. The event organizers were
Prof. Aishwarya Gopalakrishnan, Prof. Anuradha Phadnis, all faculties-coordinators and students.

Sports are a very important part of our lives. Besides keeping you fit and healthy, sports helps gain
virtues such as discipline, resilience, teamwork and courage. It teaches an excellent lesson on
winning losing and nurturing the seeds of success.
SBPIM organized an intercollegiate sports event Yuvotsav-2018on the 31 January 2018 1st
and 2nd February in the college premises. Colleges in and around Pune region were invited for the
event. The event – Yuvotsav-2018 consists of Inter-Collegiate Football & Basketball Tournament.
SBPIM got a very good response for the event, around 33 teams were registered.
The Chief Guest who graced the inaugural function Mrs. Aparna Desai Ma’am Guest of Honour – Hon. Shri. Bhaizan Kazi (Trustee, PCET), Dr. Daniel Penkar (Director, S.B.Patil Institute
of Management) welcomed & addressed the participants for Yuvotsav - 2018. He thanked the teams
for such an overwhelming response. Dr. Daniel Penkar warmly welcomed all the teams who had
participated in YUVOTSAV - 2018 and said ALL THE BEST

On Final Day of the Event, the final matches between PCCOE-A and PCCOE-B was conducted
A Prize distribution ceremony was organized to appreciate the winners of the sports event
Yuvotsav 2018. The Chief Guest for the occasion was shri Bhai Kazi
Dr. Daniel Penkar, Director, S. B. Patil Institute of Management welcomed and addressed the
audience. PCCOE-B team won the tournament for Football and ICCS team won for Basketball. .
PCCOE-A emerged as the 21st Runner up prize for Football
JSPM (Tathwade) emerged as the Runner up prize for Basketball.
The winners were awarded trophies and prizes worth Rs 11,111 and 7,777.and Gift vouchers.
All the referees, chief co-ordinators and volunteers were duly felicitated.
The whole event was a grand success.

SBPIM organized an intercollegiate sports event Yuvotsav-2017 on the 1st, 2

February 2017 in the college premises. The event – Yuvotsav-2017 consists of Inter-Collegiate
Football and Basketball Tournament. Colleges in and around Pune region were invited for the
event. SBPIM got a very good response for the event, around 48 teams were registered out of
which 32 Football teams and 16 Basketball teams.
The Chief Guest Dr. Prakash Patil, (Principal, Arvind Telang College of Arts, Science,
Commerce, Pune) who graced the inaugural function. Guest of Honour – Hon. Shri. Bhaizan
Kazi (Trustee, PCET), Dr. Daniel Penkar (Director, S.B.Patil Institute of Management)
welcomed & addressed the participants for Yuvotsav - 2017. He thanked the teams for such an
overwhelming response. Dr. Daniel Penkar said that the whole idea behind the event was to
promote sports in the Pimpri-Chinchwad neighborhood & to take advantage of the beautiful
premises Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust has created. His message to the students was to
play fair, enjoy the game & not bother about the results.

Dr. Daniel Penkar, Director, S. B. Patil Institute of Management welcomed and addressed the
audience. Our Chief Guest Shri.Milind Gunjal, Ex-Captain-Maharashtra, Ranji Cricket Team
congratulated the winning teams for their achievements.
He stated that in any game you need three things: concentration, confidence and practice.
He shared it valuable experience of his team mates Kapil Dev for practice, Sunil Gavaskar for
concentration, Sachin Tendulkar for his confidence.
The whole event is co-ordinated by the students and alumni of the college with the guidance of
teaching and non-teaching staff. Mr. Amarish Padma and Mrs. Kajal Maheshwari have worked
as Faculty Co-ordinator of the event. The winners were awarded trophies, cash prizes worth
Rs.51,000/- and Gift vouchers. All the referees, chief co-ordinators and volunteers were duly

sports event Yuvotsav-2015. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Shri. Girish
Desai, Executive Director, Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust.
Dr.Daniel Penkar, Director, S.B.Patil Insititute of Management welcomed and
addressed the audience. He spoke about the Idea behind organizing the event,
Yuvotsav-2015 and thanked the participants for such an overwhelming response.
Our Chief Guest Shri.Girish Desai congratulated the winning teams for their
achievements.
The winners for Football were Indira College of Science and Commerce,
Tathawade. Fatehchand College, Chinchwad bagged the Runner up prize for
Football.
D.Y.Patil College of Engineering, Akurdi was the winners for Basketball and
the Runner up prize for volleyball was won by Rajmata Jijau College, Bhosari.
D.Y.Patil College, Ambi were winners and Indira College Tathawade won the
Runner up prize for Basketball.
The winners were awarded trophies, cash prizes worth Rs.28, 000/- and Gift
vouchers.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Kajal Maheshwari.
The whole event was a grand success.
