Dear brothers and sisters, The celebration of Our Lady of Altagracia was again a great success! The preparation, the novena, the solemn Mass, and then the party in the Parish Hall with fantastic music, great food, and fun dancing! It was very beautiful and I want to thank all who worked hard to make it possible and all who participated in the festivities. Thank you! We had very busy months! Since December we did not stop a second! We had the novena and celebration of Guadalupe, the Posadas, the Christ-mas Party with the Car raffle, the celebration of Christmas, the New Year, the Epiphany with the visit of the Cardinal, the novenas and celebrations of Esquipulas and Altagracia… These were very in-tense months in which we received blessings and graces. Let us give thanks to God for everything he is doing here at St. Joseph’s! And now? We have about a month of Ordi-nary time before Ash Wednesday of February 26th. “Ordinary Time is a time for growth and maturation, a time in which the mystery of Christ is called to penetrate ever more deeply into history until all things are finally caught up in Christ”. Queridos hermanos y hermanas, ¡La celebración de Nuestra Señora de Altagra-cia fue nuevamente un gran éxito! ¡La preparación, la novena, la misa solemne y luego la fiesta en el Salón Parroquial con música fantástica, buena comida y baile divertido! Fue muy hermoso y quiero agradecer a todos los que trabajaron duro para hacerlo posible y a todos los que participaron en las festividades. ¡Gracias! ¡Tuvimos meses muy ocupados! ¡Desde di-ciembre no paramos ni un segundo! Tuvimos la nove-na y la celebración de Guadalupe, las Posadas, la fies-ta de Navidad con la rifa del carro, la celebración de Navidad, Año Nuevo, la Epifanía con la visita del Car-denal, las novenas y celebraciones de Esquipulas y Altagracia ... Estos fueron meses muy intensos en los que recibimos bendiciones y gracias. ¡Demos gracias a Dios por todo lo que está haciendo aquí en San José! ¿Y ahora? Tenemos alrededor de un mes de tiempo ordinario antes del miércoles de ceniza del 26 de febrero. Estamos buscando pintores, carpinte-ros, plomeros, electricista… todos los que sepan un poco de construcción y pueden regalar un tiempecito al Señor, ¡animo! SECOND COLLECTION / SEGUNDA COLLECTA This week’s second collection supports various pastoral pro-jects throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. The Collec-tion for the Church in Latin America funds the work of evangeli-zation, formation of laity, religious and seminarians, as well as youth ministry and catechesis. La segunda colecta de esta semana apoya a la Iglesia en América Latina (IAL). La colecta provee apoyo para proyectos pastorales en América Latina y el Caribe. Sus donativos finan-ciarán programas de catequesis y liderazgo laico, ministerio de la juventud, programas de evangelización, y la formación de sacerdotes, religiosos, y diáconos. La Iglesia en América Lati-na hace posible que los fieles Católicos se ayuden los unos a los otros en el hemisferio del oeste.

La preparación para el Sacramento del Bautismo se desarrolla del siguiente modo:

1. Entrevista inicial con el sacerdote: Lunes, de 3:00 pm a 7:00 pm, en las oficinas parroquiales.

2. Visita del Equipo Bautismal: los padres y padrinos recibiran una visita en casa donde se instruirá sobre la im-portancia del Sacramento.

3. Ensayo: en el penúltimo viernes de cada mes, 7:30pm en la Capilla del Parish Center con padres y padrinos.

4. Bautismo: celebrado en un sábado por la mañana en fecha anunciada en el boletín con antelación.

FLU SEASON SUSPENSION OF THE DISTRIBUTION

OF THE PRECIOUS BLOOD Given recent reports from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the CDC, the Office of Divine Worship is rec-ommending that all parishes, shrines and chapels within the Archdiocese refrain from distributing the Precious Blood to the faithful until further notice. We are actively monitoring Influenza/Influenza-like Illness (ILI) activity in our region and have found it to merit serious attention at this time. The Massachusetts Department of Public Health, in its report of Friday, January 10, 2020, rates Influenza likeliness activity as “high,” with widespread geographic distribution throughout most of the territory of the Archdiocese.
