Innovation: A Paradigm Shift

The new economy is characterized by:

• Enhanced frequency of innovations

• Shortening of product, technology, and economic life cycles.

• Rapid generation and commercialisation of new technologies

• Globalisation of both large and small businesses

• Enhanced emphasis on business partnerships and strategic alliances

Your mind can accept only those ideas that have a frame of reference with your existing knowledge. It rejects everything else.

If you develop a broad cross-functional expertise, no new idea will be wasted.

It will immediately connect with the existing knowledge and will inspire you, energize you, and encourage your entrepreneurial creativity.

Notion of emergent learning as learning in which actor and system co-evolve.

Individually when we approach projects and initiatives we do so from our own base of knowledge and experience and often have to create additional internal structures to handle those

aspects that we are unsure of and have no expertise in.

My question isMy question is

Why would we do that ?Why would we do that ?

• Is it because we believe that the only clever people out there are those that are working in our companies or our organisations ?

• Is it because we are all trying to protect our business models or our unique products or our own research findings ?

We all know and understand the magnitude of the challenges

Although our shared final objective is the same

Our separate visions of the future differ widely

• We know the size of the challenge is so massive that NO ONE COMPANY OR ORGANISATION can solve it by itself
