Mental Maths Paper
Arrangements
• SATs begin Monday 12th May 2013 – Thursday 15th May 2013
• Children have tests in reading, grammar, spelling and punctuation and mathematics.
• All writing will be teacher assessed across a breadth of work
• Children will complete tests every morning
• Afternoon sessions will be used for further revision and exercise

Age related expectation for children at Key Stage 2 are for children working at Level 4
The SATs are designed to measure the progress children make from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2
The school is set challenging targets and strives hard to meet these.

Support homework – use revision programs on the internet
Class focus is Numeracy & GAPs – daily question to be completed at home.
Encourage children to check for accuracy. Discuss their methods.
Know times tables and related division facts
Discuss Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation terms and practice
Ensure children are in bed early
Children need to eat breakfast
Provide fruit or money for school fruit tuck shop
Bring bottled water
Children can bring one mascot – no bigger than their hand
