Facilities - There is no water, no toilets and no catering. However, if you bring your own mug we can hopefully (if current covid rules allow), make you a cup of tea/coffee for a small donation.

Route and terrain – We are using the Upper Boothay Farm Ride, but not any of the jumps. Our EGB insurance does not cover us and anyone flouting this rule may be asked to leave.

The route is in open fields, along a bridleway and finishes with a road section of about 1.25 km. The route is 10km and may be ridden twice.

Watch out for pheasants, partridges, rabbits and hares.

Optional ‘vetting’ experience – This route and venue gives us the ideal opportunity to offer mock vettings in a relaxed and informal setting, with time for you to learn more about vettings and ask any questions. This will be done by experienced EGB members and involves them taking your horse’s heart rate and watching your horse trot up both before and after the ride. More details will be given to you with your bib numbers and start times.

Please leave the area around your trailer/lorry clean and tidy and take any droppings home with you.

Thank you to the Ede family of Upper Boothay Farm and Boothay Shires for allowing use of this venue and access to their farm ride route. Your rosette is in the Boothay Shires colours of red and black. A regular Farm Ride is run from here that includes the cross country jumps. See FB Upper Boothay Farm Ride for details of their next event.

Health and SafetyCovid 19 compliance and rules – these are always subject to change if government guidelines/rules are amended before the ride date.

Our aim is to run a Covid compliant event and keep everyone safe (riders, venue, volunteers, landowners). All entries will have been made through EGB Clubhouse. This means we have a register of participants and helpers for Track and Trace.

We are grateful to be able to start organised outdoor sports , and we can’t stress enough the importance that we continue to be totally compliant with all the rules. No socialisation at the event, observe social distancing etc. and please do not post on social media anything that might be perceived as non-compliance!

Parking – Please park as directed by the parking steward. The field is huge, so no problem in being able to park and maintain the required 2m social distance from your neighbours.

Riders must carry with them – a mask, hand sanitizer and gloves.
