Work Experience

Maintenance Supervisor (UK) 2014 – Present

As the Maintenance Supervisor, I run the Maintenance Department and am part of the Plant Leadership Team. Managing a team of 6 employee’s electrical, mechanical, electronic engineers and a planner. Dealing with recruitment, appraisals and absenteeism for my department. Covering for the Plant Manager in his absence. Actively involved in the design, modification and installation of new machinery and equipment. Maintaining files and records in SAP, hard copy manuals and filing systems. Also playing an active role in HOS and SSP.

In 2014 I was promoted to the role of Maintenance Supervisor and had to rebuild the department. Employing and training three maintenance personnel and rebuilding a team environment. Prior to my taking over, the maintenance department had a very high breakdown percentage of 28% down time. This has now been reduced to 14% which in turn has reduced maintenance costs. Also Preventative Maintenance had a completion rate of 60% this has now increased to 89%.

Maintenance Engineer (UK) 2002 – 2014

Over the past 14 years I have been involved with UOP as a multi skilled engineer both as an employee and as a contractor. In this role I have provided preventative maintenance and breakdown support to the engineering department. In this self-motivated position, I liaised with the previous maintenance manager and the production personnel to plan plant maintenance during plant availability, ensuring maximum plant output. I also provided 24/7 cover to assist maximising plant output and reduce downtime.

In 2003 I took the opportunity to open my own company, a small plumbing and electrical business, providing a servicing to both private and corporate clients, while continuing to subcontract to UOP. In February of 2012 I made the decision to close the company and take up a permanent position once again with UOP.

Rose Project Manager (Zimbabwe) Thetford Estate 2001 – 2002

I was employed by this company to develop the fully automated production line for the international rose market. This challenging role included managing the staff of production workers and maintenance crews, which was in excess of 150 and the interaction of customers and clients.
