Hamilton Southeastern School district recently entered in to a partnership with Community Health Network to begin to provide behavioral health services to students during the school day. Our school was recently assigned a

Licensed Mental Health Counselor who will be in our building approximately 2 ½ days a week to meet with students and their families. If you are interested in this service please reach out to your child’s guidance counselor to learn more.

Indy Snack Attack

Riverside Intermediate School is excited to announce the continuation of a program that will benefit students right here at Riverside. We will be partnering with Indy Snack Attack - a local non-profit organization designed to help kids fight hunger. Indy Snack Attack will provide RSI students in need with a disposable sack full of snacks to take home every Friday to help get them through the weekend. The sacks are filled with individually wrapped non-perishable snack items. Examples of non-perishable snack items are: packages of cheese and crackers, cook-ies, Goldfish crackers, granola bars, pudding cups, Pop Tarts, instant oatmeal, microwave popcorn, fruit cups, raisins and express mac-n-cheese.

If you would like your student to receive a snack bag each Friday, please contact our 5th Grade Counselor, Jen-

nifer Smith,[email protected]. Riverside Intermediate will be holding a snack food drive later in the year to help out our fellow students and Indy Snack Attack. For more information about Indy Snack Attack, go to www.indysnackattack.org or email ques-tions to [email protected].

Thank you for your help in supporting our students, neighbors and community!

Be on the lookout for things RSI can use in the makerspace. We are looking for things you no longer

need or use. Legos, snap circuits, little bits, OSMO parts, ozobots, or any electronic pieces, wrapping paper/paper

towel cardboard rolls...anything we can use to make something else.

Please send the "stuff" to the library where it can become our "treasure"

Club C5

It is not too late to join Club C5 where the 5 C's stand for

Celebrating Culture, Character, Courage and Changing the world! Our next meeting on Friday,

October 6th will feature a guest speaker from Spain! Everyone is welcome at Club C5 where we have a blast learning about other cultures! A permission slip is re-

quired as we often sample food from other coun-tries! Please email Lisa Finn or Kristyn Hamm at

[email protected] or [email protected] with any questions you may have!

SEE ATTACHED INFO/PERMISSION SLIP

BEST BUDDIES INFO: Best Buddies information can be found in the weekly news-letter, Remind text messages (please see the attached in-structions) and school announcements. 5th and 6th grade students need permission slips for our monthly chapter events. Permission slips can be found in the weekly news-letter, Remind text messages and outside room 644. Per-mission slips are needed so that the office and homeroom teachers know who should be staying after school. This is for the safety of the children and to allow for busses to be dismissed on time. Permission slips also need to be turned in on time so that the list of students can be compiled in a timely manner. Moving forward no late permission slips will be accepted. Please email Samantha DeKruiff ([email protected]) if you have any questions.

Join Club C5- A club where EVERYONE is welcome!

Come join us for Club C5 where we will be celebrating culture, character, courage and changing the world! This club will meet approximately one Friday morning a month in Mrs. Finn’s music room. What do the 5 “C’s” mean? Celebrate- have fun, recognize, honor, to make known publicly Culture- learning about the behaviors and characteristics of a particular social, ethnic or age group. Think about what makes you and your family special. What language do you speak? What traditions and beliefs do you have? Do you enjoy special foods and wear clothing to represent your family or history? Culture can include the ways a group of people live their daily lives. The fact that there are different cultures found throughout the globe is what makes our world so wonderful! Character- Character is who we are even when no one is watching. Having GOOD character means doing the right thing just because it is right to do what is right.

Courage- being brave as you meet new experience and difficult situations. Being courageous can be tough. We will learn how to have courage through tough times. Changing the world- How can we make the world a better place? We will explore how we can help make a positive impact in our school, community and world. Each meeting will cover different topics which will be shared on the announcements prior to the date. All meetings will begin at 6:30 A.M. Since the club will be meeting in Mrs. Finn’s music room, you may drop off your child in the back of the building by the tennis courts. Please email Lisa Finn at [email protected] or Kristyn Hamm at [email protected] if you have any questions or would like to be involved in some way or would be interested in sharing at a meeting about your culture or a story of character and courage. This club does not require a permission slip to participate; however, the permission slip below is required to try food that might be offered at some meetings.
