What isI.A.A.™ ?

I.A.A Polyurethane's are sprayed at low pressure, and cure at ambient temperature. They are not high pressure and heated

“ I.A.A.™” is a 100% solids, urethane elastomer

It is spray-applied to provide a continuous monolithic coating or lining

Protects expensive infrastructure with a permanent seal

For maximum bonding apply to 60 profile blasted steel. The I.A.A.™ will become ‘as if one’ with the steel

Provides excellent mechanical abrasion resistance

Provides extremely high rebound resilience

Features and Benefits of I.A.A™

I.A.A.™ has exceptional adhesion, durability and water impermeability under extremes of climatic conditions

Highly flexible to allow for substrate movement

Spray-applied at low pressure, moisture tolerant and rapid cure, gels in 30 seconds

Single coat application

can be applied to heavily rusted or gouged surfaces with a minimum preparation to provide a rejuvenated finish

Features and Benefits of I.A.A.™

High tensile strength and flame resistant

Hydrolysis, mould, mildew, and fungus resistant

Suitable for protection of machinery in contact with seawater, industrial water, waste water and acid soils

Thermal stability - Elastic at temperatures between -20°C and 80°C

Resistant to corrosion-causing chemicals, oil, fuels and solvents

Resists abrasion, cutting, gouging and water penetration

Applications of I.A.A.™

Loaders and excavators Shaker screens, ball mills Augers, silos and bins Clutches, hoppers & wear plates Abrasion protection for steel, concrete and

most other surfaces Tanks, concrete mixers, vibrating equipment Ore concentration spirals, cones, floatation

cells Tailing Dams, Retention Tanks

I.A.A. was applied to a I.A.A. was applied to a spiral separator in a spiral separator in a soda ash plant in soda ash plant in 1993.1993.Half m2 sample was Half m2 sample was taken after 10 years taken after 10 years service, it was tested service, it was tested for strength, wear etc for strength, wear etc with these resultswith these results

I.A.A. is used extensively in mining applications in Australia over steel bins, chutes, hoppers etc. One of the best examples of this is possibly a vibrating schenck screen deck for Bulga Coal Hunter Valley. In this application there is constant vibration and water present.

At CSR in Melbourne I.A.A. has been applied at 6mm DFT to aggregate chutes and hoppers. After 6 months @ 11 tonne of 30 mm aggregate per hr constant use, wear test results on the hoppers and chutes for DFT of remaining I.A.A. determined a min average of 4mm thickness.

I.A.A. consistently out performs tiles and rubber linings (e.g. in fans, floatation cells etc) at approximately a 4 to 1 wear factor.

Health and Safety

Under normal conditions of use and the application of good industrial housekeeping/hygiene this product does not present a significant health hazard. The VOC specification is 0%, however, should the material be splashed on the skin it should be removed by copious irrigation with clean water followed by washing with warm water and soap. Following eye contamination, copious irrigation with clean water to remove the material from the eyes, the person should be medically examined. Following ingestion, medical advise should be sought.

As in any spaying procedure the aerosol or mist produced while applying this material can be hazardous to health. Operators should there for be protected with air-fed full-face masks and if the system is being applied indoors, masks should be used in conjunction with a high volume extraction system.

The dust produced while grinding or pulverizing the cured product is similarly hazardous if inhaled. In this situation the same safety procedures should be followed as above in the application process. Correct Personal Protection Equipment should be worn.

Also refer to the Material Safety Data sheets.
