In 2013, our many achievements have been recognised at school, district, and regional levels. Ringrose Public School is a wonderful place to be and I look forward to what is to come next year. In our last week together, we will farewell our current Year 6, many of who have been enrolled here since Kindergarten. Each of them has left a legacy in the school and I wish them all well in their transition to High School and the start of their next journey into secondary education. I am looking forward to joining them at next Monday's Year 6 Farewell to celebrate the end of their Primary edu- cation. Similarly, we farewell many of our current staff who will be leaving us at the end of the year. To Mrs Taylor, Miss Cross, Miss Piniros, Mr Mah Chut, and Mrs Benson I would like to thank you for not only your commitment to the education of our students, but also your many contributions to the life of the school. It has been highly appreciated! On Monday, students received their 2013 Semester 2 Report Cards. Of particular interest to me was the continuing effort our students have made to their work this year. If parents / carers require any clarification of results, please see your child's class teacher or supervising Assistant Principal. Yesterday, we held our Presentation Day and Sports Award Assemblies. I would like to congratu- late all of our Academic, Citizenship, and Sport Recipients. A big thank you also to Miss Smajlagic and Mrs Elliot for their amazing organisation and coordination of the assemblies. Last Tuesday, Mr Steve Parrott from the NSW Rural Fire Service attended our school to accept a cheque for $467 on behalf of South Katoomba Bush Fire Brigade. Mr Parrott was very grateful for the support of our students and the funds we raised for them from 'Crazy Hair Day'. In this newsletter issue, I have also included details of the correct wear for our school uniform. In 2014, one of my aims is to see all students dressed in our full school uniform at all times. I believe that pride in our school is reflected in this. A reminder that the last school day for students this year is Wednesday 18 December. The return date for all students (except new Kindergarten) in 2014 is Wednesday 29 January, 2014. On the last two Staff Development Days this year, our focus will be on looking closely at 21st Cen- tury Pedagogy and how this is reflected in the new English Syllabus. In 2014, the new English Syl- labus will be embedded and implemented in the school curriculum. Newsletter

CANTEEN INFORMATION As this is our last newsletter for the year, I would like to acknowledge

all the wonderful mums and dads who have helped out in our canteen

throughout the year. Without your help we would not have been open

all year round, five days a week - so thankyou very much.

-As our Year 6 Students leave us we say goodbye to Leisa Reid and Roberta Majurey, who have

helped out in the canteen throughout the years.

-A big thank you to Kelly Burton, who has been our Canteen Co-ordinator for many years. Thank you

Kelly for your time and support.

-This year’s Canteen Co-ordinator has been Amanda Caine who, throughout the years, has helped

out with different projects such as the end of term discos and the Ringrose Cookbook. Without her

help and time, none of these events would have been possible - Thank you Amanda.

-Thank you to the P&C for all their support and help throughout the year and a very big thank you to

all the teachers and students who have supported the canteen throughout the year.

To Year 6 - best of luck in high school. It has been a pleasure to watch you grow into the fine young

ladies and gentlemen you are today—from little people when starting Kindy to leaving us in Year 6.

Take care in high school.

Merry Christmas and best wishes for the New Year, looking forward to seeing everyone in 2014.
