In the Digital Realm….

Remember (from week 1)

• Students cannot possibly remember all material available.

Digital Bloom’s work would imply that students can use a digital

form to find, manage, organize, and retrieve information and

knowledge.

Understand (today’s focus)

• Students are able to explain connections from digital content,

build relationships, and link digital knowledge together. This

student can summarize and rephrase to construct meaning. In

this dimension, students may be able to take information from

digital forms (as gained in the remember dimension above) and

convert to another form (written, verbal, digital).

Understanding “Understand”

Blooms According to Seinfeld (2:03-4:12)

Definition:

Interpreting-Changing from one form of representation to another (paraphrasing, clarifying,

representing, translating)

Exemplifying-Finding a specific example or illustration of a concept or principle (illustrating,

instantiating)

Classifying-Determining something belongs to a category (categorizing, subsuming)

Summarizing-Abstracting a general theme or major point (abstracting, generalizing)

Inferring-Drawing a logical conclusion from presented information (concluding,

extrapolating, interpolating, predicting)

Comparing-Detecting correspondences between two ideas, objects, and the like (contrasting,

mapping, matching)

• In Bloom’s students are required to compare, contrast, explain, discuss, clarify…this website would be very helpful in writing and stretching the use of vocabulary

• Aimed at surveys and data collection; helps you gather important information from parents and students.
