THE NEW ROMAN MISSAL IN PREPARATION for the New Roman Missal changes which will go into effect the week of November 27th, 2011 to

help all English speaking Catholics to understand the Mass more deeply and to participate in the sacred liturgy with the devout

GIFTS OF TREASURE FOR WEEK AUGUST 28, 2011

SPORTS TICKER....The fifth season of the Catholic men's over 30 basketball league will open on Sunday, Sept. 11 at the Our Lady of Mercy gym. Six teams will compete in the 10 week season for the prestigious Archbishop's Cup including our own parish

team. Plan to come out all season and cheer on your fellow parishioners beginning next Sunday when they play the defending league champions from Our Lady of Lourdes in our opening game . Tip-off is 3 p.m. and admission is always free!

Parishioners, please be aware that effective the weekend of September 10th and 11th, the Prayer List posted in the parish bulletin will only maintain names on the list for 30 days. If your prayer request is on-going, after the 30 days those names will be given to our prayers groups (Legion of Mary/ Bible Study, Divina Misericordia, Renovación Carismática, etc.) to continue the prayers. Remember, you may place specific prayers in the prayer basket that are presented during each Mass on the weekend. Also, if you have prayers for someone serving in the armed services, there is a prayer book in the back of the Sanctuary for that purpose.

SEPTEMBER /04 DE SEPTIEMBRE, 2011 SACRAMENTAL INFORMATION:

Baptism: Parents must be active registered members of St. Theresa for three months before they may begin the Baptism process. Baptism preparation classes are held in the Conference Room of the Parish Life Center as follows:

• Third Saturday of every month at 9:00 a.m.— Eng.

• Fourth Saturday of every month at 4:30 p.m. - Esp.

Baptism Ceremonies are held in our Sanctuary at 9:00 AM as follows:

• Second Saturday of every month in English

• Third Saturday of every month in Spanish

First Communion: Prepared and Celebrated in 2nd Grade (required to attend PSR at least 1 year prior to receiving sacrament as this is a 2 year process).

Confirmation: Prepared and Celebrated in 10th Grade (required to attend PSR classes at least 1 year prior to receiving sacrament as this is a 2 year process).

Marriage: The couple must be registered, active members of this parish for a minimum of three months before marriage preparation can begin. Please call the Parish Office to make an appointment with Priest at least six months in advance.

Anointing of the Sick: This Sacrament is available by appointment for any Catholic who is ill or entering the hospital for any reason. Please call the parish office to receive this Sacrament.

Bautismo: Los padres deben ser miembros activos de esta parroquia por lo menos tres meses antes de empezar el proceso del Bautismo. Las clases de preparación para el Bautismo se ofrecen en el Salón de Conferencias, los siguientes dias:

We will meet at 11:00 AM at the IHOP res-taurant on Douglas Blvd. This will be the last chance to bring your items for the Milledgeville fall Fiesta (gently used caps, T-shirts, purses, wallets, new white socks and toiletry items for the ditty bags), used eyeglasses and cell phones and baby lay-ette items for Better Infants Births (B.I.B.). All will be brought to the A.A.C.C.W. Convention the next day. We will be signing up for our annual Christmas Dinner and planning for our Christmas raffle. ADULT FAITH FORMATION 2011-12/EDUCACIÓN RELIGIOSA PARA ADULTOS Starting on Wednesday, Sept. 14th from 7:00 -8:30pm Our parish will start with our Adult Education Program for this Year. We will have on September 14th and possibly the 28th as well a guest speaker Luis Guzman , Director of the Hispanic Ministry and Coordinator Religious Education at Saint Thomas Aquinas Parish in Alpharetta Ga. Subject “Do this in memory of Me” all about the Eucharist which is the catechetic theme of the year 2011-2012 The second for September 28th is “The Eucharist in The New Testament” In Summary: Why do we celebrate Corpus Christy? From “O Sacrum Conviviuom” by Saint Thomas of Aquinas. This book was later renamed by John Paul the II.

El 14 y 28 de Septiembre tendremos un invitado especial. Luiz Guzmán, Director del Ministerio Hispano y Coordinador de la Educación Religiosa en Santo Tomas de Aquino en Alpharetta, GA. Luis nos dará unas Charlas sobre la Eucaristía, que es el tema catequético de este año declarado por los Obispos de Estados Unidos. El tema del 14 es “Hagan esto en memoria Mía” y el teman del 28 es “La Eucaristía en el Nuevo Testamento” según Santo Tomas de Aquino. En su obra “o Sacrum Convivium” y que mas tarde el Beato Juan Pablo II llamo la Conmoción Eucarística”
