Data, Design and Production—The Hub of the One-to-One Workflow PersonalEffect provides modular, scalable, collaborative tools that have been thoughtfully engineered to include every element of the one-to-one workflow – data, design and production – to help you create and distribute powerful one-to-one communications.

XMPie’s uCreateTM, uPlanTM and uProduceTM components within PersonalEffect provide a unique collaborative environment. This allows designers, programmers and production staff to work within their disciplines, while contributing to a multichannel campaign. The key to this and all XMPie software is Automatic Dynamic Object Replacement (ADOR®) technology.

With ADOR technology, your data and programming specialists can create and maintain control over campaign logic and data, while minimizing involvement in the design process. For your designers, ADOR objects are simply variable elements to be placed on a page as if they were text or images. Finally, your production staff can easily connect the ADOR-tagged designs to the production database to generate personalized, relevant communications through print, email and Web.

Integrated, Interactive Multichannel Campaigns Print service providers and marketers are challenged to find new ways to deliver relevant communications using multiple mediums. Ideally, to reduce complexity

and increase productivity, a single solution is best. Fortunately, the PersonalEffect solution is a modular platform capable of delivering targeted communications through direct mail, email, Web and mobile marketing.

With XMPie’s unique solution, dynamically-generated personalized URLs (PURLs) containing individualized content can be easily created. Even better, because the website is linked to the same data and logic used throughout other touch points, any information acquired through customer interactions with a PURL is automatically tracked for campaign analysis.

RURL Wizard XMPie’s RURL Wizard delivers the industry’s first automated way of creating synchronized multichannel campaigns. The template-driven workflow provides a simple way to quickly create personalized campaigns incorporating PURLs and email. The included templates allow you to generate fully-functional, personalized websites, and are ready to automatically track user events with the XMPie PersonalEffect Analytics technology.

PURLs can be further customized using the XMPie uCreate XM plug-in to Adobe® Dreamweaver® for complete design freedom. Using XMPie’s Interactive Content Port (ICP) technology, Web designers using Dreamweaver have a bi-directional connection to the Plan file, giving them access to the ADOR objects, which can be placed anywhere within email and Web designs.

Campaign Analytics PersonalEffect Analytics provides users with an end-to-end solution to track recipient-level campaign activity across all media channels. In addition, it features the uProduce Marketing Console, a graphics-rich, Web-based dashboard, providing detailed charts and graphs that highlight important campaign metrics. By integrating media and event information with relevant variable information, uProduce Marketing Console provides an unprecedented view into campaign performance through one, customizable tracking interface.

Web-t0-Print and Marketing Portals XMPie uStore® allows print providers, creative agencies and corporate marketing departments to quickly set up an unlimited number of branded, e-commerce-enabled Web storefronts for on-demand, self-service print and email procurement. You can tailor the appearance, products, pricing, permissions, and user experience for each customer, maintaining brand consistency while capitalizing on local distributed market opportunities. Create and deploy storefronts right out-of the-box, or use XMPie’s API-driven custom Web architecture to create custom storefronts and portals.

Application Programming Interface PersonalEffect also features an Application Programming Interface (API), available in the form of Microsoft® Web services. XMPie’s APIs can be used to develop new, custom-built applications that are based on the PersonalEffect platform, further extending PersonalEffect’s ability to meet unique business requirements. For example, you can create specialized Web-to-print applications, implement custom multichannel campaigns, or connect PersonalEffect to your CRM, ERP, MIS, or other enterprise-wide applications.

Stay on Track with PersonalEffect

All PersonalEffect configurations include at least one copy of uPlan and uCreate, and depending on throughput and redundancy requirements, one or more uProduce servers. Because the PersonalEffect platform is scalable, additional modules can be added at anytime to maximize processing speed, enable parallel processing, provide fail-over capabilities, or add extra functionality. Below is an overview of available configurations, which can be tailored to meet the needs of your company.

PersonalEffect Print XE includes Web-to-print via uStore, supports offline dynamic print production, and is extremely cost-effective since it leverages XMPie’s proven XLIM® technology. This technology supports the same easy-to-use Adobe workflow to prepare and manage document templates, while providing the XLIM composition engine to create print-ready files at ultra high speeds.

PersonalEffect Print extends the Print XE capabilities with the addition of an InDesign® Server-based composition engine, and includes the XMPie APIs. The InDesign Server enables more advanced graphic effects to be used in the creative, and the APIs allow users to build custom functionality, integrations and process automation.

PersonalEffect e-Media is an ideal solution for customers who don’t have high volume print production, but require the ability to provide personalized email, PURLs and mobile messaging. This solution allows users to produce dynamic print on the desktop and includes a server to handle the digital media channels.

PersonalEffect Cross Media combines the best of both print and digital media. This configuration provides server-based dynamic print production using both the XLIM and InDesign composition engines, and supports personalized email, PURLs and mobile messaging. It also features uStore for Web-to-print and marketing portals.

PersonalEffect Premier extends the Cross Media configuration with the addition of uImage® and uChart®. uImage enables you to incorporate personalized imagery and graphics into print and digital media using Photoshop® or Illustrator®, and uChart provides the ability to include visually-rich, dynamic charts and graphs.

Data and Logic PersonalEffect includes uPlan, which is a complete tool for connecting to data and writing logic. uPlan features set-up wizards and menu-driven code samples to help both novice and expert data professionals efficiently create a Plan file. The Plan file encapsulates the data and logic into a list of ADOR objects. It is the ADOR objects, which drive dynamic content, that are placed on a document by the designer using uCreate.

Design uCreate Print and uCreate XM are plug-ins to industry-standard Adobe Creative Suite®, and allow designers to quickly and easily create and proof highly-creative templates for print, email and the Web, using familiar tools.

The uCreate palette displays the set of available ADOR objects as defined in the Plan file, and allows the designer to tag creative elements—such as text, graphic frames, styles and layers—with ADOR objects. This tagging turns static elements into dynamic objects, and static pages into variable templates.

Production uProduce is a production server and provides a dashboard interface, giving your production department a centralized environment to prioritize, manage and process variable output.

With uProduce, data, logic and design come together to generate personalized documents for each recipient. Late binding keeps these elements separate until the instance of production, allowing your staff to easily make last-minute changes. This modularity allows successive reprints to incorporate new data or changes in design.

uProduce is also a scalable, extensible platform, allowing users to build added functionality to meet the needs of their customers.
