Dr. Andrew Leaver is physiotherapy researcher and educator who hasrecently commenced an honorary research role at Westmead Hospital.He is the course director of the undergraduate physiotherapy programat the university of Sydney and is and independent consultant anddispute resolution service assessor with SIRA NSW.

Andrew's research covers the prevention and management of chronicmusculoskeletal pain. His recent research into implementation ofwhiplash guidelines demonstrates widespread poor adherence toguideline recommendations. Why is this so? And what needs to bedone?

Dr. Belinda Judd is an Associate Lecturer in Work Integrated Learningat the University of Sydney and also holds an Honorary Academicposition with Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD). Belinda’sclinical background is in Physiotherapy and she is an active researcherspecialising in simulation-based education in the health professions,completing her doctorate in this area in 2017.

This presentation will provide an overview of Dr. Judd’s research thatinvestigates the educational outcomes of simulation-based educationin the training and development of pre and post registration healthprofessionals.  This work also evaluates the merits of simulation-based assessments and explores participant stress in simulatedlearning environments.
