The Real Artists Ship quarterly planner is a combination of powerful techniques used by successful people throughout history and a new-age insight that one quarter (three months) is just how much time you need to achieve goals that could transform your life.

The following pages briefly explains how youshould go about using the quarterly planner.

Page 4: Real Artists Ship Quarterly Planner Playbook

How to use it:

1. Pick one breakthrough goal for the quarter. It’s a goal that would transform your life. E.g. Starting a business or running a marathon.

2. You then pick two smaller goals related to an area of your life you deeply care about. It could be anything from health, habits, finance and spirituality to relationships and skill building.

3. Write down the goals clearly describing what, how and by when you will achieve them.

Tip: Make it specific, measurable, realistic and time bound.

For instance: I will design an ingenious technique that people could follow to make their dreams come true. I will do this by creating a quarterly planner that anyone could use to achieve anything. And I will figure out the most feasible way to manufacture and distribute it to at least 500 or more people by 28 April 2016.

Did you know, you are more likely to achieve your goals when you write it down. On this page you choose a worthy goal for yourself, bring out that pen and put it to paper.

GOALS

Page 5: Real Artists Ship Quarterly Planner Playbook
Page 6: Real Artists Ship Quarterly Planner Playbook

How to use it:

1. Write your quarterly goal inside the circle.

2. Take a rough sheet of paper and note down all the things you must do to achieve this goal. Scribble anything and everything that comes to mind.

For instance: If your goal is to start a business you would need a product or service, brand name, website, team, funding, and so on. And if your goal is to run a marathon, you would need to buy good running gear, create a training plan, eat healthy and so on.

3. Now thoughtfully shortlist the things you’ve come up with and plot them on the Action Steps page by drawing an outward line from the edge of the circle for each action step. After you’ve laid out all the action steps, it will give you an overview of what needs to get done so you can achieve your goal.

Tip: Execute action steps in a parallel order. That means creating and posting on social media while you are still prototyping the product or service. Or working out a marketing and distribution plan while you’re designing the website.

Think of it as a detailed map that will lead you to your treasure. This page uses the mind map technique to create an overview of all the things you must do to achieve your goal.

ACTION STEPS

Without some sort of a plan, it’s easy to drift along and not get much done. Create a weekly plan to get a jumpstart and be more productive through the week.

How to use it:

1. Pick one day of the week, preferably Sunday night.

2. Take 30-60 minutes to break down action steps, review tasks and schedule stuff for each day.

Tip: Schedule your high value tasks in the morning when your energy level’s at its peak.

3. Jump to the Day page and enter appointments, meetings and other commitments under Morning, Afternoon and Evening slots for that day.

Remember: Leisure and relaxation matter. Plan little things that you could do during the week and over weekends.

“The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex, overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one.” - Mark Twain

This breakthrough page design helps you focus on essential tasks, manage your time effectively and put your thoughts to paper, all on one page.

DAY

How to use it:

1. Prioritise your tasks: Pick three tasks from the Weekly Plan page or add new tasks that need to be done today. Put the important stuff up top. The goal is to significantly move the ball forward with every task.

2. Organise your day: Schedule morning rituals, client appointments, team meetings, brainstorming sessions, dinner dates and other events through the day.

Tip: Do this when doing your weekly plan.

3. Ink your thoughts: Fill this space with inspiring ideas, quick notes, or just tidy up your mental space with a brain dump.

Remember: No matter how hard you push, there will be days when you won’t get much done. It’s ok. Everyone experiences days like these.

The calendar will help you keep track of important dates and the number of days left in your quarter.

CALENDAR

How to use it:

1. Mark the start and end date of your quarter.

2. Circle important dates, events and deadlines in the future.

3. Alternatively, you could pick a habit you want to develop and mark an X each day you do it. It must be something simple so it’s easy to do, such as reading 10 pages a day, playing the guitar for 10 minutes or watching a skill specific video. The goal is to continue doing the habit and not break this chain. Credit: Jerry Seinfeld

In A Nutshell

Page 27: Real Artists Ship Quarterly Planner Playbook

“The biggest thief of success is procrastination. We can think about doing the right thing, plan to do it and talk about doing it, but nothing changes in our lives until we start consistently doing what we need to do.” - Joyce Meyer

Execute Everyday

“What do you want to accomplish? What do you want to experience? And what possessions do you want to acquire? In the journey from where you are to where you want to be, you have to decide where you want to be.” - Jack Canfield

Choose Your Goals For The Quarter

“Being clear about your purpose, vision, and goals will put you in the top 3% of the world’s achievers. To move into the top 1% of achievers, all you have to do is write down some specific action steps that will help you accomplish your goals on your daily to-do list. Then make sure to take those actions.” - Jack Canfield
