To make a basic cake, you need to mix the ingredients in the ratio:
You need to bake an 800g cake.
2 parts butter2 parts sugar, and 1 part eggs.3 parts flour, 3 2 2 1

Add together all of the numbers in the ratio.
Divide the target weight by this total.
Multiply your answer by each number in the ratio.
++ +3 2 2 1= 8
800g ÷ 8 = 100g
3 × 100g = 300g flour2 × 100g = 200g sugar
2 × 100g = 200g butter1 × 100g = 100g eggs

5 + 3 = 8 32 ÷ 8 = 4 4 × 3 = 12
