Welcome to 2015! On behalf of the entire Penn Club family, I want to wish each and every one of you a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. I’d also like to thank you for your generosity towards the em-ployee holiday fund. Your expressions of appreciation towards our loyal and dedicated employees are truly heartwarming. Every day I count my lucky stars for working with such a wonderful group of people.

Now, let’s talk networking! One of our newest pro-grams is a monthly networking dinner. Held on the second Wednesday of each month, it’s a great op-portunity to interact with other members, exchange information, and develop contacts while enjoying our culinary team’s sumptuous cuisine.

Our food and beverage team has been working

really hard over the past few months to take things up a notch. If you haven’t heard yet, we are offer-ing a fantastic Friday lunch buffet and Wednesday dinner buffet in the Main Dining Room with Tony. Bonnie, in The Grill Room is always looking to raise the bar—no pun intended—with new, fun daily specials—read on for all of the details. What’s more, our a la carte menus in The Grill Room are constantly changing, and we’ve added daily Chef ’s specials as an option.

February 2, 2015 will be Punxsutawney Phil’s 129th prognostication! I’m hoping that he does not see his shadow, and spring arrives early.

Tour of the National Museum of American Jewish History |Saturday, April 12th. 2:00 p.m. 101 South Independence Mall East. Philadelphia, PA. Hop on a train to Philadelphia for a private tour of the National Museum of American Jewish History and their special exhibition: Richard Avedon: Family A airs. Richard Avedon: Family A airs presents a collective historical portrait of key gures in American political and cultural life by one of the most signi cant and in uential American photographers. e exhibition unites two seminal bodies of Avedon’s portrait work: a series of four murals inspired by the revolutionary atmosphere of the 1960s and early 1970s, including a massive print of Allen Ginsberg and his family, and a series of 68 photographs entitled “ e Family,” originally published in Rolling Stone magazine on the eve of the 1976 Presidential election. Together, the photographs represent a careful, planned study of an American society challenged and changing as it exited the turbulent 60s and prepared for the 1976 election. As the country heads toward the 2016 presidential election, Family A airs invokes comparisons between the nature of political leadership in 1976 and in present day America. $25 per person. Admission includes all day access to the entire museum and a special gift bag just for Penn Club members. To RSVP please e-mail [email protected]. Reservations are required by Friday, March 27th.

Whether a fi rst-timer, a seasoned dater, or a curious bystander, this program will teach you how to successfully navigate online dat-ing…and you'll hear some entertaining stories along the way.

In Love at First Site, released in September 2014, Erika Ettin has taken her expertise from her online dating consulting business and laid it out in an easy-to-use and exciting guide to the world of online dating. She will show you how to increase the odds for connections by marketing yourself well. Her background in economics helps to use the numbers game in your favor. Her advice includes pointers for choosing your best profi le picture, writing a winning profi le, crafting emails that catch someone’s attention, and planning the fi rst date.

Ettin holds a BA in economics from Cornell University and an MBA from Georgetown University. She worked in fi nance for over seven years before launching her business, A Little Nudge. She has been featured on NPR, The Washington Post, and AskMen.com, and worked with hundreds of clients in the United States and abroad... and she still cries every time a former client calls to say, “I got engaged!”
