Question 1: In what ways does your

media product use, develop or challenge

conventions of real media products?

Page 2: Question 1

The header tells the reader what they can find inside the magazine, and above the masthead because every other magazine does so.

This puff tells the reader that this issue of my magazine is “bigger” than the other issues that would have been published before it.

Issue number, price and date are placed above the bar code because a lot of other magazines either have it next to it or inside it.

Coverlines with other band names on it to indicate what bands are featured inside. They are placed in boxes to make them easier to read, and to separate them from each other.

This puff is used to give the reader an idea of what competitions are inside and so they are more likely to buy it.

Puff, “plus”, means there is more to the magazine.

Names of bands and other information included within the magazine.

Main image which covers almost the whole of the front cover because the artist is featured in the main article.

Smaller image of a different band to make it look like it follows the conventions of another magazine.

Bar code included to make it look professional. Subline for the main coverline to

express why the main article is worth reading.

Main coverline names the band that the two artists of the main image are in. Also, it says what kind of article it is.

Masthead has a font that is different to others but is simple to make it look professional. The colours follow the colour code of this magazine.
