Food Pantry From Dan Dozier A few years ago the Detroit Free Press reported the story of a 93-year old Detroit man whose embalmed body was discovered missing from its casket inside the mauso- leum at the Gethsemane Cemetery. The funeral home was holding the body until the ground dried out enough to bury it in the cemetery. A search by law enforcement discovered the man’s body stuffed in his son’s basement freezer. Vincent Bright had stolen his father’s body because he believed that his prayers would resurrect his father. All of us have questions about death. We wonder what it will be like. We have questions about the resur- rection. And we wonder what we will experience, if anything, between the time we die and the time when the resurrection comes. There is much we simply do not know. But we know the One who has overcome death in His own resurrection. We read in Scripture about those who were raised from the dead. Lazarus is one such example. The biggest difference between Lazarus and Jesus in this regard is that Lazarus died again, but Jesus lives forever. Vincent Bright was correct to believe that God will resurrect the dead, but he was incorrect to believe his father would be raised before Jesus returns. Ladies Breakfast Save the date! A few years ago the Detroit Free Press reported the story of a 93-year old Detroit man whose embalmed body was

discovered missing from its casket inside the mauso-leum at the Gethsemane Cemetery. We have questions about the resur-rection. Like Vincent Bright, I want to see my father and mother again. Thanks be to God that He is planning a resurrection that will make that a reality some day!
