PRESS BRAKE DIES available from stock The dies shown are standard Cincinnati Press Brake Dies, for use in press brakes of any manufacture. These dies are made from .80 carbon steel heat treated to a uniform hardness of approximately 245 Brinel!. This steel is extremely tough and wear resistant, yet can be remachined in case of damage or excessive wear. For dies which are to be used on scaly stock, or other similar severe service, the working surfaces may be flame hard· ened at additional cost. Cincinnati stand- ard die steel is used, providing adequate support behind the hardened surfaces to prevent local compression failures. All standard Cincinnati Press Brake Dies are normally furnished with a W' x 5/a" tongue. Extra high tongues, "hook" tongues or dovetail tongues can be sup- plied at additional cost. The stock dies shown are available in lengths up to 16 ft. For longer lengths of stock dies, or for longer lengths of any standard dies, consult the factory regarding availability. Our Die Engineers stand ready as consultants and designers to give your problems individual attention. This department is specifically set up to study your job and recommend the most advantageous die design and methods for you.

To permit Cincinnati Die Engineers to give your inquiry prompt service, please be sure to send as much information as possible. Adjustable Punching Equipment

Upper and lower bolsters (F, G) with set screws for holding punch and die blocks (H, I) on adjustable centers. With strippers (E), holes can be punched about 2 inches from the edges of sheets. With strippers (1) and stripper beam (K), work can be passed through the press brake and holes punched anywhere on the sheet.

Bolsters (M, N) are useful for lighter work and provide more clearance for punching channels and other shapes. Strippers (L) are cylindrical rubber collars and are suitable for stripping 12 gauge or lighter materials. Spring strippers may also be used for such applications.

Upper and lower holders (Q, R), with adjustable punch and die holders (T, U), are most suitable for punching heavy plate. The punches are held by coupling nuts to the stems (S). Gagcontrol permits making the punches inactive. Stripper beam (K) is mounted on horizontal slides on the inside of the machine housings. and permits passing work through the press. This type of equipment usually requires more than standard die space.

PRESS BRAKE TOOLING / sectIOn 5

Strippers (J) are attached to stripper beam (K), which is supported in guides on the inside of the press brake housing.

They may be used for punching and notching square, round, rectangular, ovaloI' irregular shapes. Alignment is maintained by guide pin units at each end of the bolsters.

Adjustable punching units may be adapted to a standard brake.. or to a press brake with widened bed and ram.

The close-up at the left shows the unit used in the setup pictured above.
