Drive Test TypeSite Verification Individual cell verification test : To investigate detail of site performance by checking all single sectors with AMR call and Throughput test. In addition also required to perform small area dedicated test for Intra/Intercell HO.

Cluster Optimization Normal Drive To frame the potential area of the new site planned. Also to improve the important neighboring sites for which the handover to be defined. Cluster Optimization Dedicated Drive

Performed call to the test number and drive to the potential area given to determinei) call set up timeii) call set up successiii) drop calliv) SHO v) HSDPA ( Average & Maximum) Speedvi) Coverage Status ( Technology)vii) Pilot polution

Page 16: Presentation

When the site is completely integrated, Drive tester team will start to perform site

investigation. The detail sub-activities are outlined below:

1. Rigging Audit2. Site Verification3. Site corrective action (cross feeder, inconsistent data, functionality

problem, etc.)4. Acceptance Test

The site has been built and integrated as planned and that the planned coverage has been achieved

Page 18: Presentation

• Voice / Video calls

• Verify on per cell basis for all carriers:• RSCP• EC/No• Scrambling Code• LAC / RAC• Cell ID• Etc......

• Data / Throughput test• HSDPA and HSUPA /

Internet Browsing• Verify on per cell basis for all

carriers:• RSCP• EC/No• Scrambling Code• LAC / RAC• Cell ID• Max/Ave Speed• Etc..........

Page 19: Presentation

Static test At the best radio location required to perform for all carriers 1. Voice call to determine if any call failure or block calls 2. Video call succesful 3. IRAT test for network reselection 4. Throughput R99/ HSDPA/HSUPA/Latency test using http / fttp and speedtest. 5. Internet browsing succesful

Mobility Test 1. Check intra cell HO in dedicated mode clockwise and anti clockwise two rounds for each direction 2. Check inter cell HO in dedicated mode for the 1st layer per cell both ways.

Rigging Audit

Test Items in Rigging Audit:Antenna Installation Verification

- Azimuth- Height- Location- Cross-feeder/s

Rigging Tools :- Safety Belt- Compass- GPS

- Measurement tape- Digital Inclinometer

Site Audit required from the Rigger

1. Panoramic photos surrounding sites including antenna sectors/objective area

2. Ensure no blocking sectors from the main beam antenna3. Antenna mechanical/electrical tilt was in correct value4. Antenna was in correct orientation for the objective/target area5. Site Height6. Site Coordinates

• Cluster Definition, Site Information Data and Site Location Map• With Site/Cell ID, Site name, Primary SC, Neighbour list, RNC ID

and Cluster border highlighted• Prepare Route Map for Drive Testing• Perform drive test either Idle mode or Dedicated mode• Identify Problematic Areas• The result from the data will showing of Network performance such

as 1. Drop call rate 2. Accessibility – mobile originated/terminated call set up success rate 3. Coverage – RSCP and Ec/No

• Coverage Problem Area

• Dominance Problem Area

• Pilot Pollution

Best Server’s CPICH RSCP < - 99 dBm

Best Server’s CPICH Ec/No < -14 dB

4th Best Server’s CPICH RSCP > - 99 dBm

Cluster Drive test Optimisation:

RF Solution Department

Page 24: Presentation

Optimization Check needed before Starting Drive Test.

• Parameter Consistency Check(site creation & default parameter values)

• CELL/NODEB/RNC level Alarms check.

• Prx noise(Uplink Interference or RTWP check) Ranges between -102dbm to -105 dbm.

• Cell Availability Check(Site Down ).

• Cell barred.

• Proper neighbour definition.

• Drive Test Route preparation for Cluster level Drive Test.

• For cluster level Drive test 90% or above site should me On Air and Alarm Free.

Coverage and Dominance Problem

RF Solution Department

Page 30: Presentation

Coverage and Dominance ProblemBlock A:- The Area which is having bad RSCP <-95dbm and poor EC/no will be considered as poor coverage /problematic Area.Requirement for Analysis:- for optimizing this we require RSCP & EC/NO plot of best server. And RSCP Vs. EC/NO plot•Solution:- Antenna Tilting, change of Height of antenna•Increase CPICH power.•Antenna Type change( replace with High gain antenna)•Check any missing neighbor & Cross FeederBlock B:- Here the problematic Area is having RSCP >-95dbm but EC/NO <-10dbmRequirement for Analysis:- for optimizing this we require RSCP & EC/NO plot of best server.EC/NO plot for each Scrambling code.•Solution:- Antenna Tilting, change of Height of antenna•Increase CPICH power of serving cell, Decrease CPICH of Interfering cell•Antenna Type change( replace with Low gain antenna)•Check any missing neighbor.•Check CO scrambling Code.

RF Solution Department

Page 31: Presentation

Coverage and Dominance Problem

Block C:- Here the problem is the EC/NO of 4th best server is <6db as compared to best Server.Requirement for Analysis:-EC/NO plot for all serving cell in Active set and 4th and 5th best server from either monitoring /Detected set.Solution:- Antenna Tilting, change of Height of antenna•Increase CPICH power of serving cell, Decrease CPICH of Interfering cell•Antenna Type change( replace with Low gain antenna)

RF Solution Department

Page 32: Presentation

Missing Neighbor analysis

Here we have checked Best serving cell as per scanner which is SC 485 but UE is latched to SC 504 and the neighbor from SC 504 to SC 485 is not defined so the call drop occur due to missing neighbor.

RF Solution Department

Page 33: Presentation

Cross feeder analysisIn this Case in the Defined coverage area of SC 130 we are getting coverage of 128 and in the planned coverage of 128 we are getting coverage of 130.So we suspect Cross feeder between Sector 1 and sector 3.

Problems Caused by cross feeder can be:-1. High handover Failure.2. High Call Drop.3. Poor Dominance.

Page 35: Presentation

Pilot pollutionWhen the Number of Candidates eligible of Active set becomes greater than the active set size then Pilot pollution occurs.

RF Solution Department

Page 36: Presentation

Recommendation & Solution of Pilot pollution• perform scanning (via drive test)• Locate pollutant area• Do Neighbor list verification

• Remove neighbors those are not measured but are in Neighbor list• Add missing neighbor

• Check pollutant, whether it’s from overshooting site or site nearby• Check and Adjust physical configuration• Check and Adjust CPICH Power

RF Solution Department

Page 37: Presentation

RTWP(Received total wideband power)

• RTWP can be caused by bad weather, feeder broken, port feeder broken, or traffic fluctuation (load).

RF Solution Department

Page 38: Presentation

Time Propagation (TP)• TP use for checking overshoot sites• 1 unit TP equals to 234m in distance.• In NSN system we check PRACH report.
