Why do we use the present progressive?
-In Progress: Where are you? I am going home.
-Around now/then: I am taking IEP this semester.
-Temporary situations: My parents are staying with me.
-Actions:
I am thinking about my essay right now.
Can you help me? I am looking for my keys.
Present Simple Present Progressive
TRUTH
My car is fast.
Computers are made in China.
IN PROGRESS
Where are you? I am going home.
Shh! I am studying for a test.
TIMELESS FACTS
Newspapers give information.
