Prepositions of place
What is a preposition?
It is a word that shows a relationship between a noun and some other word or element in a sentence.
Now, we are going to study four important prepositions in this lesson, click on each preposition to see its
communicative function
Behind Under
In on
Behind
We use it when something or someone is in the opposite place of
something or someone else.
Example:
The sun is behind the cloud
Under
We use it when something or someone is below something or
someone else.
Example:
The dog is under the table
In
We use it when something or someone is into something
Example:
The balls is in the box
On
We use it when something or someone is above something
Example:
The apple is on the table.
Okay, now you know how to use each
preposition, look at the following picture and the examples.

The giraffe is behind the bus
The monkey is in the bus.
The crocodile is under the bus.
The tiger is on the bus.
