Architecture

• Probably the most well known piece of architecture in Bosnia is a bridge named Stari Most (above)– Built in the 16th century– Located in the city of Mostar over the Neretva river– Stood 427 years until it was destroyed in 1993

during the Bosnian war. Was rebuilt in July 2004.

• The tallest and one of the most modern pieces of architecture is the Avaz Twist Tower (right)– Headquarter of the Bosnian Newspaper company,

Avaz– Built from 2006-2009– Located in the Marijin Dvor District

Music• Because of frequent invasions of Bosnia, Bosnian music is now a

mixture of Bosniak, Greek, Turkish and Arabic• Most popular types of Bosnian music include:

• Emotional, melancholic folk music– Ilahije i Kaside
