Polycom Content Access Program (PCAP)
Educators can enhance their curriculum, connect with colleagues and peers, and expand the reach of their classroom with live, relevant and culturally rich interactive learning experiences. Polycom Content Access Program (PCAP) is designed for Polycom customers who have never or seldom connected with content providers such as museums, science centers, and authors to become familiar with the power of this educational tool. Polycom will provide a complimentary virtual field trip to jump start your video conferencing experience.

Polycom grants & funding programs
The Polycom Grant Assistance Program (PGAP) is designed to assist educational organizations in identifying federal, state and foundation funding sources for their technology investments in voice, video and infrastructure conferencing solutions. The PGAP Team of grant experts helps organizations navigate through the maze of funding sources to identify
those that best align with their program needs. While not a true GRANT program, Erate is an additional source of funding for schools and libraries across the country.
Polycom has participated in the E-rate program since its inception, maintaining a list of cost-allocated products making approvals quicker and funding more likely. Polycom products are eligible for P1 Managed Services and P2 Internal Connections applications. Polycom University
The Polycom University delivers targeted technical training content through experienced instructors, who continuously develop new programs and courses to address advances in technology and new functionality. All instructors are experts in data communications, telecommunications, and networking.
Courses are available in classrooms, remotely with an instructor, or as self-paced programs that enable learning anywhere, at any time. Product-based courses, taught with a blend of lecture and hands-on exercises give learners valuable technical product knowledge and skills that improve productivity, speed problem resolution, and increase utilization of your video conferencing systems.

Read Around the Planet (RAP)
Read Around the Planet, an outgrowth of the U.S. National Education Association (NEA) Read Across America program, is a global celebration of reading using videoconference technology. Combined with World Book Day, RAP is designed to promote reading and opportunities for classroom videoconference collaborations. Polycom provides the funding to support TWICE who manages the program including registration, the classroom partner matching service and support documentation. Tied to Dr. Suess’ birthday, RAP registration opens around September with events occurring in February and March. RAP is open to primary, elementary and secondary education institutions.

Marci Powell, Global Director, Education
With over 20 years of extensive experience in the education field, Marci Powell provides thought leadership and strategic planning in the use of technology to address education needs. Powell is an industry expert in the field of educational technology and telecommunications with extensive experience in applications related to lifelong learning and innovation and as such, is called upon quite often to deliver keynote addresses or serve in educational think tanks.
Powell began her career as a classroom teacher and administrator and has served as a blended and e-learning expert and educational consultant. Marci’s distinguished leadership has been recognized through her induction into the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA), the Texas Distance Learning Association (TxDLA) Hall of Fame, and most recently, Marci was named European Distance and E-Learning Network (EDEN) Fellow.
Her articles on transforming education, technology integration and distance learning have been published in USA Today, ASTD T&D Magazine, USDLA Distance Learning Magazine for Leaders, UKDLA Distance Learning Publication, Education Review, and TASSP Texas Study, a publication of the Texas Association for Secondary School Principals. Powell has been quoted in numerous publications including Financial Times, Washington Post, University Business Magazine, HigherEd TechDecisions, Education Technology Solutions, NZ Interface Magazine, Campus Technology Magazine, Asia Pacific’s Future Gov magazine, Auckland Herald, Japan’s Nikkei IT Pro and many online environments.
Marci is Chair Emerita and Past President of the U.S. Distance Learning Association (USDLA), currently on the Board chairing the Global Partnership Committee. She also serves on the International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) High Level Advisory Board.
Elaine Shuck, Director of Education, North America
Elaine Shuck, with a background in technology, curriculum, and integration, is the U.S. Director of Education for Polycom. She is a leader in collaborative learning and interactive videoconferencing. For sixteen years she has brought stimulating and engaging learning opportunities to K-20 classrooms. Her work ranges from hands-on demonstrations to educators, to reaching out to Polycom’s corporate partners, to facilitating hybrid solutions that enhance education and training.
Elaine is an expert in her field and a frequent speaker. Audiences around the world—both face-to-face and through videoconferencing—respond enthusiastically to Elaine’s lively style, technical mastery, and commitment to learning. She has designed and implemented programs that inspire faculty and students as they interact with world-class luminaries in medicine, education, or noteworthy events. Her work has garnered major awards from the International Society for Technology in Education and the US Distance Learning Association (USDLA).
An authority on social and connective media, collaborative learning, and best practices in distance learning, Elaine works with a host of educational groups and is currently President-Elect for USDLA.
Sue Porter, Special Events Coordinator
Sue Porter worked as Instructional Technology Coordinator for the Grand Rapids area educational service center for 10 years, responsible for distance learning—both video conferencing and online learning. She was one of the co-founders of Two-way Interactive Connections in Education (TWICE). Porter brings her past experience as an elementary teacher and higher education instructor to the benefit of Polycom customers.
