Children with Disabilities Need

Support from Parents &

Professionals Offering training seminars could be an excellent beginning for

professionals and families to collaborate, learn about communication needs, and guide children with disabilities.

According to American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) in the article Guidelines for Meeting the Communication Needs of Persons with Severe Disabilities (2015), research shows that the best practice for servicing children’s communication needs with severe disabilities reflects the following: social behaviors, variety of modalities, and “service delivery” must involve caregivers and professionals (para. 34).
