She isresponsible for overall management of thepublication as well as Alternative EnergyAfrica magazine which she founded andlaunched in 2008. Dianne began her careerin publishing from Cairo, Egypt in 1999,first freelancing for various Egypt-focusedsocial publications in the English languageand then as deputy editor of Oil & GasNorth Africa magazine.

In addition to her publishing career, Diannehas also provided expert witness testimonyto the United States Subcommittee onAfrica, Global Health, Global HumanRights, and International Organizations andhas acted as session chairperson and/orspeaker at numerous industry eventsfocused on African oil, gas, and renewables.In addition, she serves as a consultant toResearch Development and FinancialConsultants (RDFC) out of Ghana,Canada’s Benica Resources, and variousother enterprises.

Ad Material Submission

1. Publisher’s Copy Protective Clause – In the event that no acceptablecopy is furnished, Publisher reserves the right to repeat last submittedadvertisement for scheduled space. With the exception of cover and premiumpositions, contracts may be terminated by either party on 30 days notice beforeclosing date.

Contracts for covers and special positions are non-cancelable, except in thecase of non-payment of invoices at Publisher’s discretion. In the event of non-payment of invoices, the Publisher may terminate the contract without notice.

Advertisers are liable for all content of advertisements (print or digital) and forany claims made against Petroleum Africa. The Publisher reserves the right toreject any advertising that does not conform to the publication’s standards.

2. General – If more or less space than contracted is used within 12 monthsfrom date of first insertion, the rate will be adjusted to the earned contractedrate. Advertiser will be short-rated at the prevailing frequency rate specified incontract if they have not completed the terms of their contracted frequencyrate within 12 months of first insertion order.

3. Frequency Rates – Number of insertions in a 12-month period determinesfrequency rate as agrred upon in contract between Publisher and Advertiser.

4. Issuance & Closing – Published 10 times per year with distrubution beginningduring the first two weeks of corresponding issue month, the latter month if acombined issue. Reservation and artwork deadlines are as specified in theeditorial calendar.

5. Positioning – Regular full page adverts are run-of-the-house positioning. Ifspecial placement is requested such as facing editorial, there is a 10% premium.

6. Payment Terms – All first orders require advance payment. You maysubsequently apply for credit. Terms of payment are Net 30 on approved credit.Late payments will incur an interest charge of 1.5% per month, compoundedmonthly, if received after due date.

7. Agency Commission – A 15% agency commission applies to recognizedagencies. Payment due Net 30 from billing date (on approved credit). Publisherwill hold Agency and Advertiser jointly responsible for payment.

Advertising Policyand Terms & Conditions

1. Standard Page: Standard type andadvertising page size is 8.3" x 11.0" (210 mm x 280 mm).

2. Bleed: 3 mm bleed on all sides. Alltype must be inset 0.20" (5 mm) insidethe final trim size, all four sides.

3. Pre-Trim Size: 8.5" x 11.3" (216 mm x 286 mm).

4. Ad Materials: All ad materials shouldbe supplied in one of the following digitalfile formats accompanied by a hardcopycolor proof. Ad materials other thanacceptable digital fi les wil l incuradditional charges (see ProductionCharges).

a. Acceptable Digital Files: AdobeAcrobat PDFs (8 bits/channel, binaryCMYK, all fonts embedded) or flattenedCMYK TIFF or EPS files, 300 dpi at actualsize.

b. Graphic/Imaging Formats: All graphicelements should be imported fromdrawing or imaging applications. Toassure optimum results, graphics shouldbe saved as PDF, TIFF, or EPS files.

c. Storage Media: Files may besubmitted using the following media:Email, CD-ROM, or FTP.

Print AdvertisementSpecifications

Send by Email: Petroleum Africa can accept ads up to 10 MB in size. If you choose to email yourad, address it to [email protected]. Please be sure to indicate Advertiser Nameand Issue Date in the subject line.

FTP Upload: For ads between 10 MB and 100 MB in size, you may upload to your FTP site and sendyour sales representative the required access information for us to download. You may also usea third party service such as Dropbox.
