CHICAGO STEREO CAMERA CLUB64th Lighthouse International Exhibition of Stereo Photography 2012

Since 1906, The Chicago Lighthouse for People Who are Blind or Visually Impaired has been creating opportunities to enable people who are blind, visually impaired or blind with additional disabilities to have equal access to education and employment.

Housed under its roof at 1850 W. Roosevelt Rd. in Chicago are the nation’s oldest and most prominent Low Vision Clinic; a clock manufacturing facility in which visually impaired workers produce clocks that are distributed around the world; a nationally acclaimed school for children with multi-disabilities; an innovative Legal Clinic to assist people who are blind in combating discrimination; a store carrying over 350 items designed to assist people who are blind or visually impaired with daily living; a radio station broadcasting the latest in news and a variety of other programs to a global audience of people who are blind; a library providing blind or visually impaired students with Braille and large print textbooks; and a VA program to assist veterans in all 50 states

For the first time in its history, the Lighthouse has opened, earlier this year, a comprehensive facility outside of its main location in downtown Chicago: Lighthouse North, at 222 Waukegan Road in Glenview. This facility provides the same world-class services in its Vision Rehabilitation Center including examinations, occupational therapy, and psychological counseling. Additionally, it offers a wide array of programming for children, youth, and senior adults, as well as free legal counseling. The Tools for Living retail store showcases the latest assistive devices and adaptive technology.

Entry fees and donations received at public showings of this salon have supplied some of the funds required for non-grant items essential to the operation of The Chicago Lighthouse. The Chicago Stereo Camera Club is proud to be the sponsor and contributor for the sixty-fourth consecutive year.
