INFANT BAPTISMS For children under 7 years of age, the sacrament is celebrated the FIRST Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm. The parents must register in the parish office at least 4 weeks prior to the baptism. Both parents and godparents are expected to attend one catechetical session in advance, on the Wednesday before the baptism, at 7:00 pm.

SACRAMENTS OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION Before being fully initiated into the sacramental life of the Church, children over the age of 7 will need catechetical prepa-ration through the RCIC process. Teenagers and adults will par-ticipate in separate RCIA processes. CONFIRMATION and COMMUNION For those already baptized, preparation for these Sacraments will take place according to the person’s age and knowledge of the Catholic Faith. For further information contact the Office of Faith Formation Program.

MARRIAGES Couples should contact the parish office at least six months in advance to make the proper ar rangements for the Sacrament of Matrimony.

Santa Misa el dia Miercoles, 1 de Enero, 2020 a las 2:00 PM. La procesión saldra a la 1 PM desde la Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Fátima. Evento cultural,danza folkloricas, premios y muchas sorpresas despues de Misa en el Auditorio Padre Donnelly. Holy Mass on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at 2:00 PM. Procession will leave at 1 PM from Church at Our Lady of Fatima. This is a cultural event, with folk dance, awards and many prizes after Mass at the Auditorium Fr. Donnelly Hall.

FIRST FRIDAY This Friday, January 3rd is the First Friday of the month. Mass will be celebrated at 8:30

AM, (Our Lady of Fatima School is Closed). Following Mass there will be Exposition of

the Blessed Sacrament, concluding with a Holy Hour and Benediction at 7:00 PM, followed by

Mass at 7:30 P.M. All are welcome.

PRO-LIFE CORNER - Herod massacred the Holy Innocents because he feared that one of those weak, helpless, innocent children might be the Christ. Herod's was the fear of a tyrant totally consumed with ambition and evil. Today we have our own modern day Herod: ‘abortion on demand’. Now we have countless numbers of Holy Innocents each and every day .

Dear Parishioners,

Today we honor the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. We celebrate them as a model for all families. The center of the Holy family was Jesus. If we place Jesus at the center of our families his love will nourish and guide the members and life of our family. The vocation of Mary was disciple, wife, and mother. The vocation of Joseph was a disciple, husband, and foster father. These vocations were fulfilled by cooperating with God in their lives. The reason for Jesus’ coming was to save us all from sin and death.

In families, there is a biological and spiritual bonding of people who all have a call by their creator to live a wonderful life. This life is not wonderful because it follows the designs of lim-ited human beings or of a passing, imperfect world that suffers from the corruption of sin and death. Our lives can be wonderful when we follow the call of God who has created us to be part of a wonderfully perfect Kingdom. God knows the best way for us to live our lives with him and with one another. When a family is holy, as the Holy Family, it means it is one with God. Indeed from baptism, Jesus unites himself with us making us part of the family of God. The Holy Spirit comes into us and strengthens our bond with God in his family.

The following definition of the family is from article #2205 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church: The Christian family is a communion of persons, a sign and image of the communion of the Father and the Son in the Holy Spirit. In the procreation and education of children, it re-flects the Father's work of creation. It is called to partake of the prayer and sacrifice of Christ. Daily prayer and the reading of the Word of God strengthen it in charity. The Christian family has an evangelizing and missionary task.

The above definition of the family helps us to aspire to a family life that reflects the love of God which gives us life and helps us share the Good News of Christ. Happy Feast of the Holy Family and have a happy celebration of the New Year this week. May all families flourish in God’s love now, in the New Year and always.

DEL ESCRITORIO DEL PÁRROCO

Queridos feligreses,

Hoy honramos a la Sagrada Familia de Jesús, María y José. Los celebramos como modelo para todas las familias. El centro de la Sagrada familia era Jesús. Si colocamos a Jesús en el centro de nuestras familias, su amor nutrirá y guiará a los miembros y la vida de nuestra familia. La vocación de María fue discípula, esposa y madre. La vocación de José fue discípulo, esposo y padre adoptivo. Estas vocaciones se cumplieron cooperando con Dios en sus vidas. La razón de la venida de Jesús fue para salvarnos a todos del pecado y la muerte.

En las familias existe un vínculo biológico y espiritual de personas que tienen un llamado de su creador para vivir una vida maravillosa. Esta vida no es maravillosa porque sigue los diseños de seres humanos limitados o de un mundo imperfecto que pasa por la corrupción del pecado y la muerte. Nuestras vidas pueden ser maravillosas cuando seguimos el llamado de Dios que nos ha creado para ser parte de un Reino maravillosamente perfecto. Dios sabe la mejor manera para que vivamos nuestras vidas con él y con los demás. Cuando una famil-ia es santa, como la Sagrada Familia, significa que es una con Dios. De hecho, desde el bau-tismo, Jesús se une a nosotros y nos hace parte de la familia de Dios. El Espíritu Santo entra en nosotros y fortalece nuestro vínculo con Dios en su familia.

La siguiente definición de la familia es del artículo # 2205 del Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica: La familia cristiana es una comunión de personas, reflejo e imagen de la comunión del Padre y del Hijo en el Espíritu Santo. Su actividad procreadora y educativa es reflejo de la obra creadora de Dios. Es llamada a participar en la oración y el sacrificio de Cristo. La oración cotidiana y la lectura de la Palabra de Dios fortalecen en ella la caridad. La familia cristiana es evangelizadora y misionera.

La definición anterior de familia nos ayuda a aspirar a una vida familiar que refleje el amor de Dios que nos da vida y nos ayuda a compartir las Buenas Nuevas de Cristo. Feliz Fiesta de la Sagrada Familia y tenga una feliz celebración del Año Nuevo esta semana. Que todas las fa-milias florezcan en el amor de Dios ahora, en el Año Nuevo y siempre. !

Thank you to all who completed or are still completing our pledges for our Annual Catholic Appeal 2019. One parishioner at the end of the year completed a pledge that enabled us to meet our goal and have a little extra for our own parish expenses. Thank you again to all for not forgetting the pledges you made

and helping the Diocese and our parish. Please remember as well that Generations of Faith Campaign contributes to our parish as well as health

care for elderly priests and for youth initiatives in our Diocese.
