I also presented at the Society of American Archi- vists Conference in New Orleans which brought a whole lot more national attention to our project! However, probably the best thing that happened over the summer was that we are now officially out of "Pilot" and into full program with ORMS. What this means is that the limitation on the number of state agencies that can use ORMS has been lifted! This is really great news as we were not scheduled to move out of pilot for another year!

Message from the State Archivist

The Archives division has had quite a busy summer on the ORMS front. We have been actively working with a number of our pilot agencies getting users into ORMS and then working to add more agencies to the program. We have four new agencies in varying stages of contract review and hope to have them on soon!

Finally, on behalf of all of the folks here at the Archives Division, I want to wish Sara Haberle the best of luck in her new business endeavor. We will miss work-ing with you!!!!

Thank you!

Mary Beth Herkert

Please see ORMS Staff Changes article on page 3.

I have also presented an update or "Year 2 in ORMS" at the NAGARA Annual Meeting in Indian-apolis and then at the E-Records Forum in Seattle. I was joined by Pat Duval, City Recorder for Mil-waukie and one of our early pilot agencies. She did a great job explaining why they decided to join ORMS, the benefits that they have seen and lessons learned. She also unveiled Milwaukie's Totally 80’s Fall ORMS TRIM (Totally Rad Information Man-agement) campaign, which is very creative and en-tertaining as you can see from the pictures pre-sented with this article.

HP TRIM End User Training Update

for ORMS Clients by Kathy Schamp, SoS Archives Records Analyst

As technology progresses (and the old, traveling training computers

find their way to that laptop graveyard in the sky), so must we

progress in the way we deliver training. The ORMS Team is excited

to tell you about some upcoming changes in the way we deliver

TRIM End User training.

Over the past few months, Oregon SoS Archives

staff has been working on new ways to deliver

TRIM End User training to our customers.

Utilizing some of the latest methods in training

delivery, one of the new features we are really

excited about will be on-demand training via

Adobe Connect. Customers will be able sign up for pre-scheduled

training sessions, or schedule time with staff for one-on-one training

and help.

The easy, step-by-step tutorials will include:

• Getting Started/Navigating the HP TRIM User Interface

• Creating Records/Moving Records in HP TRIM

• Dragging/Dropping Records and/or Files

• Searches – both single and filtered searches

• Linking HP TRIM and Email

So, what do these changes mean for ORMS users?

• Quick and easy access to training

• Times that fit everyone’s busy schedules

• Reduced travel/classroom time

Stay tuned for these exciting changes coming at the end of the

year! In the meantime...

The ORMS Team is currently providing HP’s web-based HP TRIM

EUT for unlimited users hosted by Synergy Data Center. ORMS

Support has e-mailed each ORMS participating agency’s Power

User(s) to provide instructions on how each ORMS user can access

the online EUT. Please contact the ORMS Support Team if you have

any questions.

Beyond The Call! Beyond The Call! Beyond The Call! Beyond The Call! ® Awards

At Chaves Consulting, Inc. we

have a tradition of recognizing

employees who have gone above

and beyond at providing out-

standing services to our

customers or Chaves’ teammates

with what we describe as

“Beyond the Call®” awards.

All the pilot agencies have worked

hard during implementation of

ORMS to make the project

successful.

We decided to recognize some

of those individuals for their

creativity and willingness to go

"Beyond the Call!®" in implement-

ing ORMS in their agencies.

This month we would like to

recognize with Beyond the Call!®

Awards:

Renee Coker, City of Beaverton

and

Hannah Wells, City of Milwaukie

We appreciate their courage and

willingness to step up to the

challenge of making this project

successful in their agency.

Thank you!
