Wet on Wet Painting

No experience or talent required! Paint a complete professional oil painting in one night! Learn how to paint the “Wet-on-Wet” method popularized by Bob Ross and other television artists. Our experienced instructor, Pauline Stitt, will lead you step-by-step through this technique that makes it easy and fun to create your own masterpiece in one evening! Oil paints, canvas, and easel will be provided. Student will need to supply own brushes or they can be purchased from the instructor on the night of class.

Class held on Tuesday evening from 6:00-9:00p. Each class is $42. A sample of the painting is on display in the Community Education office during the month of the class.

Instructor, Pauline Stitt, is an accomplished painter. She has taught painting classes for Community Education for many years.

Improving your Photography

Improving your Photography is taught by Mary Aten who is a Muskegon resident and has a teaching degree, as well as, a photo editing certificate/associates degree. Mary can be found on most Saturdays selling her work in the Muskegon Farmer’s Market. She has held several exhibitions and has been selected as the National Park System’s Artist in Residence for September 2016 at Big Horn Canyon National Recreation Area. You can see more of Mary’s work at www.atenphoto.com. Class is designed for students with a digital SLR camera or those who are considering the purchase of one (DSLR - camera with interchangeable lenses.) Class will include Power Point presentations of concepts, demonstrations, and time for discussions (Q&A.) Students can take one or all classes in the 5 class series. Price: 5 class series: $125 OR $37 for an individual class within a series.

Class 4 - Editing Programs - (Demonstrations) Editing software – what it can do for you (free and professional software) Demonstration on how to improve photos with software and where to find it

Class 5 - Beyond the Basics Panorama and HDR (High Dynamic Range) – discussion/demonstration Printing and exporting / more learning resources
