Membership - Annual membership dues for ages 55+ are $25 for Delaware County residents and $30 for non-residents. Purchasing of a membership entitles you to register for the Enrichment Center’s programs and priority registration for trips each month. As a member you will receive the newsletter, which shows current information about the wide variety of free and fee-based programs available. Membership dues are for one year, starting on the date of purchase and you will receive a notice to renew prior to your anniversary date.

Activity Scholarships - We give activity and membership scholarships to people who qualify. To qualify you will need to talk with Charlene Browning, Director of Enrichment Programs, and let her know about your financial hardship. All meetings with Charlene are private and will be kept that way. No one else will know that you are getting the help you need to become an active member at the Center.

Nonresident Fee - Residents of Delaware County pay taxes that support the activities at the Enrichment Center. Nonresidents do not pay these taxes and therefore pay the extra amount for programs and trips.

Refunds - If a participant cancels a trip or activity, their seat must be filled from the waiting list in order to qualify for a refund. Because our fees are based on minimum participant numbers, refunds must be requested at least 24 hours before the activity begins. Consideration will be given to written requests for refunds in cases where there has been an injury or unforeseen problems not within your control. There is an $8 refunding fee.

Waiting Lists & Cancelled Classes - We will advise members if a class is full and give them an opportunity to enroll on a waiting list. If a class is cancelled, we will notify the registrants and issue credits. Checks may be issued upon request, or a credit for another program may be requested. There is no processing fee if a class is cancelled by the Enrichment Center.

Photos Taken by Staff - During programs or activities, participants may be photographed for publicity purposes by a staff member of the Council for Older Adults. These photos may appear in newsletters, the Council Communicator, or other publications. If you do not desire to have your photo taken, please tell the photographer or contact our office.

Room Reservations - The Center reserves the right to cancel events and/or programs or change room assignments if the minimum number for the scheduled room is not reached. This policy is for outside groups that reserve our rooms for their events at no cost, and for our own in-house programs.

Children in the Center - We are aware that many of our members care for children especially during the summer. Our policy states that those under the age of 55 may not be a member or take part in programs as stated in the Center policy language. Volunteers may be under 55. Volunteers under the age of 16 must be supervised by an adult. Children are invited into the Enrichment Center for special programs and cannot take part in regularly scheduled programming. Studio 60 welcomes children at any time.

TRAVELING GOLF LEAGUE 2014 Wednesdays 8:30 AM – 2 PM

Fee: Each 18 hole golfer will pay a league administration fee of $20 to the Center at the time of sign up. Each 9 hole golfer will pay a league administration fee of $10 to the Center at the time of sign up. We will be using the funds to use for prizes (money) for the 18 hole handicap players. *NOTE this is why the 18 hole players will be paying $10 more than the 9 hole. Course fees vary by the course – you will pay greens fees at each course on the day of play.

Handicap Program: Ken Schmid has developed our handicap system which is updated every week.

Tee Times: We will not pair golfers with the same golfers on a regular basis. In the interest of getting to know other golfers we will attempt to pair with a different golfer most of the time. Golf foursomes both for 9 holes and 18 holes will be determined by drawing names. In the event a golfer needs an early tee time we will schedule them as early as possible. *NOTE all golfers need to be active members of the Enrichment Center.

Rules of Play 1. All golfers must putt out unless they have reached the maximum number of strokes allowed on any given hole (par plus 3 strokes). 2. A lost ball or a ball out of bounds will be replaced by a new ball as close as possible to the spot where the ball was lost or went out of bounds for a penalty of one-stroke (NOT stroke and distance). Local rules created by the course personnel will be followed as appropriate.

League Members Information: E-mail address, home address and phone numbers will be provided to those league members who will be directing each week’s competition. This will be for the sole purpose of conducting league business. Registration: We do encourage you to register as far in advance as possible and for as many outings as you intend to attend. This will help us greatly in our coordination with the golf courses. And you must provide us with your phone number and/or e-mail address so we have a means by which to contact you. Pick up a form at the Center, complete it, then turn it in at the Center’s front desk with your $20 or $10 league administration fee. If you need to make a change during the course of the season, contact the front desk

Cancellations: If you must cancel contact the front desk and let us know as soon as possible. This will prevent the others in your foursome waiting and avoid scheduling problems with the course. If you have to cancel at the last minute, i.e. the morning of the outing, please call the course. Do not call the Center to report a cancellation. Continued on next page.
