FROM THE DIRECTOR'S DESK

Considering the importance of entrepreneurship in today's timeline, CED focuses on skill development and thorough awareness amongst the youth. With the elaborated knowledge and understanding of the importance of empowerment, CED conducted and excelled in Entrepreneurship Awareness Programs across many colleges and institutes.

CED makes sure of the uniform effectiveness of their programs by conducting meetings to discuss various opportunities to boost entrepreneurship in rural areas. Following meetings consist of discussions like Gobar Gas Generation, Organic Farming, Biodegradable Waste Management, Soil Health Management, etc.

Rising the youth of the nations by conducting Skill Development Training, CED witnessed trainees rising from bottom to peak at their ventures which accelerates our motives as well as encourages the youth to pursue the entrepreneurial path and their individuality.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (EDP) MODULE II INAUGURATION

ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION TRAINING - EDP MODULE I

Ahmedabad Naroda Campus

EDP Module II is conducted for a duration of 15 days aiming at topics like which industry to start, how to start, which type of facilities are available, how to manage the business successfully, product guidance, information sources, managerial inputs and various other topics.

Such EDP was recently inaugurated at Naroda Campus.

As a part of our EDP Module I, a full day session on Achievement Motivation Training was conducted by Shri N.M. Jani. This session is undertaken to motivate the students to pursue entrepreneurship and overcome any hurdles that come their way.

SKILL AWARENESS SEMINAR AT SUCS

Kheralu SUC Kalol SUC

To cope with the increasing pace and change of modern life, individuals require skills to make themselves competent and self employed. Through Skill Awareness seminars, CED aims to spread how our skill development & up-gradation programs can help them to create a good career for themselves. Such awareness seminar was held at Kalol & Kheralu SUC.

MEETING ON "ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT FOR VILLAGES"With an aim to spread entrepreneurship in the rural areas, "Meeting on "Entrepreneurship Development for Villages" was held in the presence of Dr. Vallabhbhai Kathiria, First Chairman of Rastriya Kamdhenu Aayog, Dr. R.N. Prasad - Director, CED & various other dignitaries.

The meeting was held on thefollowing topics:

SKILL DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES & UP-GRADATION PROGRAMSGrowth is very important personally and in an organization, personnel need to stay learning in order to grow. Keeping these in mind, skill development & up-gradation training is conduced throughout the year in association with training partners. Here are some glimpses of the training conducted under various schemes:

Scheme - 2 Short Term Bridge Courses by Institutes

This scheme aims to create industry responsive manpower by creating training centre with joint initiative of Government, Industry Partner & Host institute to run short term bridge courses. Here are the moments from Scheme 2 training:

Scheme 3 - Specialized Skill Development Centers

Under this, an industry starts a Skill Development Centre to render necessary skill set to the manpower. Here are the moments from Scheme 3 training:

Scheme 4 - Skill Up-gradation Centers (SUC)

To minimize the shortage of readily employable manpower, SUCs are set up to upgrade the skills of the manpower as per the need of the industry.

Scheme 7 - Tuition Fees for Enhancement of Skill

This scheme aims to provide financial assistance for tuition fees support to training partners to run industry responsive training & generate employment.

EDP MODULE I AT AHMEDABAD REGIONAL OFFICE

CED creates awareness about entrepreneurship among the youth by holding one day EAP in different colleges & institutes. Topics pertaining to entrepreneurship, its characteristics, entrepreneurial steps and business opportunities are covered in EAP that gives an overview to the participants about entrepreneurial path. Such EAP was conducted at the following places:

EDP Module I is currently ongoing at Ahmedabad Regional Office. Successful entrepreneurs along with experts like Shri Dheeraj Bhojwani, Executive Director from TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs), CA Vaibhav Shah, Shri Jayprakash Goel, Centre Head of Federation of Indian Export Organization, Ministry of Commerce, GOI delivered knowledge sharing session to educate the participants about various fields.

EAP is conducted to motivate and empower the candidates to consider self-employment & take entrepreneurship as a career path. Such programs inform the trainees about CED activities and the objective behind our training programs. Various success stories & videos of entrepreneurs are shared to provide more clarity about the result of pursuing entrepreneurship.

The aim of our entrepreneurship program is to train & make a skillful future entrepreneur. This 30 day program was recently inaugurated at our Bhavnagar regional office with 26 participants who are a part of the program. The opening ceremony of EDP Module I was conducted in the presence of Mr. Sangodsir (DIC), Dr. Vimal Jagad ( Sr. Training Office), Mr. Malek (ADM), Ms. Namrata (Jr. Training Officer) & Ms. Manali Trivedi (Successful entrepreneur).

SKILL DEVELOPMENT & UP-GRADATION ACTIVITIESIn today's skill based economy, skill building is an important instrument to increase the efficacy and quality of labour for improved productivity and economic growth. It is also a powerful tool to empower individuals & improve their social acceptance. Such skill building activities are regularly conducted across Gujarat by CED in association with reputed training partners. In Bhavnagar, training courses for Solar PV Installation, CNC Operator Turning, Sewing Machine Operator, Shuttleless Loom Weaver, In - line checker, etc. were undertaken.

INTERVIEW FOR EDP MODULE I

EAP was conducted at Industrial Training Institute, Kalawad by Mr. Krushn Kataria, Dy. Manager(Rajkot) and Ms. Isha Pathak. More than 65 students were a part of this program focused to guide the students & motivate them to pursue the entrepreneurial path.

SKILL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING AT GIDC LODHIKASkills development is the process of identifying your skill gaps and developing and honing these skills. In today's era, your skills are your tools.Training for the following courses are ongoing at GIDC Lodhika Industrial Association.

- Quality Inspector- Forged, Casted or Machined Components- CNC Operator Turning

Interview process was undertaken for the final selection of participants for EDP Module I program. Inauguration ceremony for this program in Rajkot region was held in the presence of the Guest Of Honour Mr. V. B. Jariya from DIC, Rajkot, Ms. Yachnaben Gautam from MSME Department. INAUGURATION OF EDP MODULE II AT VADODARA OFFICE

SERIES OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES AT SIGMACOLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGYSeries of entrepreneurship development activities was recently conducted at Sigma college of Engineering and Technology, Vadodara.

A session on "Innovative Approach" was conducted by Dr. Priyesh Gandhi for students of 2nd semester. Students got to know about new thinking aspect and how to adopt new thinking in various situations.

The session turned out to be highly informative with the support of practical case studies.

Inauguration of EDP Module II was recently held at our Vadodara regional office. As an introductory session, participants were made aware about CED Activities as well as characteristics of an entrepreneur.

VIJAY PARMAR"VIJAY MECHANICALS"His father being a contractor in Mahalaxmi Mills at Bhavnagar, Vijaybhai got an idea to start his own unit. He came to know about EDP program at CED & completed the same. After necessary guidance about various things, he was able to secure loan & thereby streamlined his manufacturing unit "Vijay Mechanicals". He currently has a customer base of 350 all over India.

SABITA MANEK“SABITA CHAITANYA MANEK”With an aim to boost their family business of ready-made garments, Sabita joined EDP program in February 2018 at Vadodara office. With the guidance regarding various aspects of business & loan processing, she applied for loan under MSME scheme & was successful in procuring the same. With this, a unit by the name of Sabita Chaitanya Manek was established that makes uniforms for the school kids. The unit is running successfully & giving good returns year on year.
