Dear Tina: Omni Nano is the only non-profit organization in California that offers programs in nanotechnology education at High School Level. Nanotechnology is a field of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), which promises to deliver high-tech solutions to some of the ‘real worlds’ most long-standing concerns. Our mission is to inspire today’s youth to become tomorrow’s STEM workforce by developing, producing and disseminating nanotechnology curriculum and resources at this particular education level. We believe that introducing students to nanotechnology while they are still enrolled in secondary education will help prepare them for their professional careers in a globalized, high-tech economy that is the 21 st Century. Our goal is to disseminate nanotechnology education and we do this by providing resources such as nanotechnology workshops. Omni Nano is dedicated to bridging the vast disconnect between science curricula and the science and technology being developed, utilized and applied in the 21 st Century. We seek to inspire students to become interested and increasingly passionate about pursuing further education as well as a career path in STEM. Our Discover Nanotechnology Workshop is one of our most popular resources. We give an insight into what nanotechnology and STEM are by demonstrating nano-properties through a super- hydrophobic cloth experiment. Through carrying out research based on the impact of our workshops, 80% of students agreed that the workshop helped them understand the potentials of nanotechnology, with 50% of students now considering entering a STEM major in college. By providing each student with their own piece of super- hydrophobic cloth to take home they can demonstrate the nanotechnology experiment to their friends and family. We believe that this will help to increase the student’s interest in the scientific field. Dear Tina:

Omni Nano is the only non-profit organization in California that offers programs in nanotechnology education at High School Level. We believe that introducing students to nanotechnology while they are still enrolled in secondary education will help prepare them for their professional careers in a globalized, high-tech economy that is the 21st Century.

We give an insight into what nanotechnology and STEM are by demonstrating nano-properties through a super-hydrophobic cloth experiment. Through carrying out research based on the impact of our workshops, 80% of students agreed that the workshop helped them understand the potentials of nanotechnology, with 50% of students now considering entering a STEM major in college. By providing each student with their own piece of super-hydrophobic cloth to take home they can demonstrate the nanotechnology experiment to their friends and family. We believe that this will help to increase the student’s interest in the scientific field.

Omni Nano is proposing a collaborative partnership with Banc of California to promote hands-on STEM education by providing take-home nanotechnology samples to students. As a sponsor your company logo will be placed on each piece of super hydrophobic cloth given to the students. We have included a sponsorship fact sheet for your review. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please do not hesitate to contact us. In addition, I will follow-up via phone within the next two weeks to see if you have any questions that I can answer about the proposal or our organization. Thank you in advance for taking the time to review our sponsorship proposal package.

Sincerely,

Dr. Marco CurreliFounder & Executive Director of Omni Nano

Sponsorship Proposal

We are seeking $5,000 sponsorships to produce 1,000 super-hydrophobic cloths that are to be distributed as take-home demos of a nanotechnology demonstration given during our Discover Nanotechnology workshop. These are typically attended by 25-35 students. The most popular part of our workshop is the live demonstration of super-hydrophobic surfaces, where cloths are treated with nanotechnology. After explanation and demonstration, students are given samples to experience nanotechnology applied to materials first-hand. The samples greatly spark student curiosity, inspiring them to get involved. Our aim is to be able to give children these samples to take home with them to grow their interest in nanotechnology. We also intend to distribute the super-hydrophobic cloths at the Original Mixer (theoriginalmixer.com) on July 9th; an exhibition typically attended by 400+ people where Omni Nano has been given a table.

Super-Hydrophobic Cloth Information

The super-hydrophobic, or water repelling, cloth demonstrates the application of nanotechnology in material coatings. Banc of California could now become a sponsor of innovative programs in STEM education in our local communities. Cloth samples will be produced with Banc of California logo identified as a sponsor, Omni Nano logo and UltraEverDry logo (Nanotechnology coating brand) before being distributed to participating students. Cloth design will be approved prior to printing and coating. The samples are printed on a 40’x40’ sheet and cut down to 4’x4’ pieces to be distributed. Each sheet costs about $500 and produces 100 pieces. The costs include; design, printing logos, application of UltraEverDry nanotechnology coating, shipping and handling.

Sponsorship Facts

o A Sponsorship of $5000 will produce 1,000 cloth samples to distributed at 20 workshops as well as covering the Original Mixer event.

o A Sponsorship of $2000 will produce 400 cloth samples to be distributed to students at 16 workshops
