Entrants are required to setup on Saturday morning, between 8am - 9am. You may park one (1) vehicle in front of your space long enough to unload, then move it to the parking area for competitors.

All cooking must be carried out in a hygienic & safe manner. All raw meats must be kept on ice if not on the fire. All other safe and accepted practices must be followed.

Original sauces & spice rubs are encouraged.

Entrants (or their designee) must be present to receive their award (if won).

Each Entrant is responsible for keeping their space orderly & clean.

Judges decisions are FINAL in all regards.

All entrants are required to attend the Cooks Meeting @ 8:45am!

All types of smokers and grills are allowed (no fryers).

All equipment and supplies must be provided by entrants - except the meat!

Entrants must provide buckets for wash, rinse and sanitizing (1tbl bleach per gal water).

All cooking areas must be clean and sanitized. Sanitization is based on Judge Discretion.

IF YOU WANT TO BE IN PEOPLES CHOICE CATEGORY: You MUST bring 3lbs of chicken and/or 12 full ribs uncooked (will be inspected at check in).

NO pre-cooking allowed

Marinating and pre-seasoning is allowed

Meats will be judged on taste, texture and appearance.

Meat samples must be presented to judges in a container of entrant’s choosing: container does not need to be closed. At least 6 portions must fit easily with container and container cannot be marked with entrant team name or other identifiers.

Fire can be wood, wood substance or charcoal. All precautions must be made to prevent fire threat. No holes, open fires or dug pits allowed.

Contest meats must be delivered to the designated turn-in point in the cook-off competition area no later than five (5) minutes before turn-in time:

Chicken - Judged at 5:00pm

Ribs - Judged at 5:30pm

People Choice - 5:00pm - 6:00pm

Contestants must not give, offer, sell or donate alcoholic beverages to the general public.

Additionally, teams may not vend or offer BBQ for sale to the public.

Samples for Peoples Choice Award are to be cut and ready for public use once the judges choices have been made. Peo-ple’s Choice Award is NOT a cash prize. Trophy Only.

Teams must remove all equipment and clean their sites by 8:00pm Saturday.

Trash bags will be provided and collected at your site at the end of the day.

Ash barrels and grease receptacles will NOT be provided.

An amateur team consists of one Chief Cook and up to (4) assistants - Chief Cook needs to be over the age of 18.

The Chief Cook (and teams if desired) must attend the Cooks Meeting @ 8:45am at the designated Cook-Off Competition area for explanation of rules and additional instructions.

The Chief Cook for each team is responsible for the conduct of his team, guests and invitees. The Chief Cook will also be responsible for his team’s compliance with all rules and regulations set forth by the BBQ competition committee.

AWARD CEREMONY will be held at approximately 6:00pm on Saturday, October 8, 2016.
