ODiASY was created in 2011 by Professor L. Liaropoulos, upon his retirement from the University

of Athens, where he taught for 27 years. Founder and director of the Center for Health Services

Management and Evaluation CHESME, since 1996, Prof. Liaropoulos is the author of six books

and numerous articles and studies covering all the areas in the health care industry. At the same

time, he served in top managerial posts in the public sector. Since 1995, he is the Representative

of the Ministry of Health to the OECD Health Committee. ODiASY was created in order to deriveadded value from his many years of experience as a health economist, director of research and

top level manager. ODiASY will continue and expand the work of CHESME, adding private sector

flexibility to its proven academic excellence. We aim to bring international experience on Health

Systems Management to Greece and to provide the international academic and professional com-

munity with high quality information on Greek health data and experience.

WHY Mission Statement

Under the guidance of Prof. Liaropoulos, CHESME has conducted research, project development,

and policy analysis for almost 20 years, building a widespread network of collaborators. ODiASY

will build on this basis, bringing in new talent with post doctoral work and experience in Greece

and abroad. They are a precious addition to our other seasoned collaborators from the academia

and the private sector. Our teams can tackle any problems in terms of re-engineering, restructur-

ing, new business ventures, or other research and investment projects in the health area. The

flexibility of hiring top talent according to the needs of each project allows us to always aim for top

quality work. We conduct research and study topics of interest on commission by our clients in

the health industry, private and public sector. At the same time, we work proactively on matters of

special interest and we present the results to the national and international audience. An example

is our current study of the effects of the economic crisis on health. Part of our work is on commis-

sion by the private sector, but we also offer proposals to the public dialogue.
