Therefore the Lord himself will

give you a sign. Behold, the virgin

shall conceive and bear a son, and

shall call his name Immanuel.

from the futile ways inherited from

your forefathers, not with perishable

things such as silver or gold, but with

the precious blood of Christ, like that

of a lamb without blemish or spot.

As God said, “I will make my dwelling

among them and walk among them, and

I will be their God, and they shall be

my people. – 2 Corinthians 6:16b

The cry/longing for:

- Belonging: Lord of might (to Thy tribes)

Instead, they were longing for a better country--a heavenly one.

Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has

prepared a city for them. Hebrews 11:16

Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are

of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and

sisters. Hebrews 2:11
