WELCOME TO SUMMER!We are excited that summer is here! The warmer weather has allowed for us to turn on the

Splash Pad on those nice days for the community to enjoy some pre-season fun in the sun! Ican’t believe that the Aquatic Center and Splash Pad have already been in place for a year andthat we are getting ready to open up for our second summer of aquatic activities. NorthernWasco County Aquatic Center has tons of fun things going on this season including hosting theannual Ted Walker Swim Meet taking place June 24th-26th as well as our 2nd annual Dive inMovie night this August. I think it’s going to be a fantastic season for the Aquatic Center and welook forward to opening day on May 30th.Although we are extremely excited for the aquatic center to re-open, there is much more that

summer has to offer. We will be putting on several classes full of fun activities for all ages. Wewill be offering our specialty camps again this year as well as our week long camps to keep yourchildren constantly active and engaged. For people who are more interested in leisurely activities our Sorosis Park and Riverfront Trailprovide several miles of pathway that can be utilized to walk, run, or bicycle. Our Sorosis Parkalso has Tree Top Disc Golf Course if you would like to enjoy a round of disc golf with your friendsor family.New this summer is our Online Registration System set to take launch May 2nd to better assist

the community in registering for all our wonderful classes and programs. The online registrationsystem will also allow for people of the community to make park reservations, sign up for swimlessons, and purchase aquatic pool passes. This system will help ease the time-consuming reg-istration process of having to come into the District Office. District staff will be available toprocess in-person registrations or help with our new online registration process. On behalf of the Parks Board of Directors and everyone at NWCPRD, have a great summer en-

joying your parks and recreation system.

COMMUNITY PARTNERSMISSOULA CHILDREN’S THEATRE PRESENTS:THE PRINCESS & THE PEA

Written by Hans Christian AdnersenDirected by Missoula Children’s Theatre

"Envision a kingdom of snow where the residents areWinter Wind Workers, Blizzard Bringers, Icicle Sharpen-ers and Snow Smoothers, ruled by the Storm King andthe Snow Queen. Add to that a Prince looking for aproper Princess to share the throne. Now imagine thePrincess and her friend the Pea living in a kingdom ofgreen rolling hills and running rivers with her subjects,The Flower Gardeners, River Runners, Green ShootGrowers, and Tree Barkers. Her parents, King Size andQueen Size, do all they can to keep things runningsmoothly.Who knows, maybe the dancing Dust Bunniescan help? Although the two kingdoms think they havenothing in common, (except maybe a pesky Jack Frost

that freezes anything and everything), the peace-loving Leprechauns prove otherwise. Throw insome Phony Princesses and you have a real fiasco! This show isn't your grandma’s PRINCESSAND THE PEA. We think you will enjoy its twists and turns."Source: http://www.theparamount.net
