Nu Flow recently expanded its position in the United Kingdom market with a distribution and licensing partner in Totton, Southampton, providing commercial, industrial, municipal and residential customers with proven technologies to rehabilitate pipes without destruction. Nu Flow UK completed their rst job at a school while Nu Flow technicians were there to train. Project: Rehabilitate the failing water pipes throughout a secondary school using Nu Flow’s epoxy coating system. Site: King Harold Business and Enterprise Academy (formerly King Harold School), a secondary school located in Waltham Abbey, Essex. System: The system consists of galvanized hot water feed pipes, hot water return pipes and cold water supply pipes ranging in diameter of ½” to 3”. The problematic pipe lines run horizontally and vertically throughout the school. Problem: The pipes suffered from low pressure, low ow and discolored water. In addition, the majority of the hot water taps were not functioning correctly. Prior to nding Nu Flow, the customer had to take up all of the oors, ceilings and some walls in approximately half of the school to replace the pipes. The school had to be closed to staff and pupils for over 9 months. Solution: Nu Flow UK created a full site investigation to determine the location, diameters, direction of ow and area of connections. With this, work began by using compressed air to shoot a garnet through the pipes to remove deposits. Once cleaned, hot air was blown through the pipe to remove any nal deposits or garnet. The system required multiple access points, high- pressure air lines and segregated work areas. Starting with the main run, the air valve was opened and the resin was blown into the pipes, followed by any lateral lines.  After thirty minutes of air ow, the resin was cured and thickness consistency was checked at each end of the pipe. The system stood for another 20 to 24 hours before being used. Where pipes were lined, both the ow and pressure were restored and color returned to normal. The hot pipes that previously rancold water returned to proper temperature. Nu Flow UK Completes First Pipe Rehabilitation Project Where life interacts with infrastructure. Nu Flow recently expanded its position in the United Kingdom market with a distribution and licensingpartner in Totton, Southampton, providing commercial, industrial, municipal and residential customers with

proven technologies to rehabilitate pipes without destruction. Nu Flow UK completed their rst job at a

school while Nu Flow technicians were there to train.

Project: Rehabilitate the failing water pipes throughout a

secondary school using Nu Flow’s epoxy coating system.

Site: King Harold Business and Enterprise Academy

(formerly King Harold School), a secondary school

located in Waltham Abbey, Essex.

System: The system consists of galvanized hot water

feed pipes, hot water return pipes and cold water supplypipes ranging in diameter of ½” to 3”. The problematic

pipe lines run horizontally and vertically throughout the

school.

Problem: The pipes suffered from low pressure, low ow

and discolored water. In addition, the majority of the hot

water taps were not functioning correctly. Prior to nding

Nu Flow, the customer had to take up all of the oors,

ceilings and some walls in approximately half of the

school to replace the pipes. The school had to be closed

to staff and pupils for over 9 months.

Solution: Nu Flow UK created a full site investigationto determine the location, diameters, direction of ow

and area of connections. With this, work began by using

compressed air to shoot a garnet through the pipes to

remove deposits. Once cleaned, hot air was blown

through the pipe to remove any nal deposits or garnet.

The system required multiple access points, high-

pressure air lines and segregated work areas. Starting

with the main run, the air valve was opened and the resin

was blown into the pipes, followed by any lateral lines.

After thirty minutes of air ow, the resin was cured and

thickness consistency was checked at each end of thepipe. The system stood for another 20 to 24 hours before

being used.

Where pipes were lined, both the ow and pressure were restored and color returned to normal. The hot

pipes that previously rancold water returned to proper temperature.
