GRAND MARSHALLSMembers of this community earnestly nominated
the unsung heroes who have served as a foundation in our town. The integrity, mentorship, citizenship and volunteerism of these esteemed individuals help contribute to the beloved treasures we find here in Mexico, Missouri. Going with little to no recognition, these folks are continuously working behind the scenes to improve the quality of life for others. Join us in congratulating the 2019 Unsung Heroes that served as Grand Marshalls of the Real American Heroes Parade! (Thanks to Sydenstricker for the rides)
JODY DISHMANFounder of Angel Wings Clothing
Closet, Jody was first inspired to help clothe foster children in 2010 when she and her husband became foster parents themselves. Initially just serving Audrain County, her love and compassion has spread to 19 counties in the state of Missouri and Illinois. From her basement to her own building, Angel Wings provides support to foster families throughout the entire system. And if

Paramedic, Firefighter, Hero... just a few words used to describe Lieutenant Joshua Llyod. Like many heroes, Joshua expects no recognition, no awards and no thank you’s. Thank you Josh for keeping our community safe. - Nominated by Christina Llyod

25th AnnualCHAMBER GOLF TOURNAMENT
The weather wasn’t in our favor but despite it, there was a lot of fun at the Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce 25th Annual Golf Tournament held at The Oaks June 21st. If you are going to deal with that much rain you might as well do it in good company and that is just what most everyone did! The teams managed to get anywhere from 4 – 14 holes in! Everyone was a winner, as the teams that played split the cash prizes equally. We appreciate all of the major sponsors, hole sponsors, premier hole sponsors and the sponsor of our putting contest.

It is with great honor we announce to you that Dr. Scott Simmon’s medical practice in Mexico, MO has joined Hanni-bal Clinic.
At Hannibal Clinic, we have a great team of care provid-ers who are people the community has come to know and trust. This group will continue to provide care at the same location, 1000 Webster Street in Mexico. The clinic hours are now 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Thursday, and 7:30 am to 11:30 am on Fridays.
The clinic is accepting new patients and is also able to accept and process claims through all major health insurance companies including: United Healthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Healthlink, Missouri Medicare, Missouri Medicaid, Cigna, Aetna/Coventry, Multiplan/PHCS and USAMCO.
The mission of Hannibal Clinic is, “To Improve the health of our communities.” That is also the focus of this merger - to grow the type and value of healthcare services available in northeast Missouri, so you won’t need to travel outside of the area to receive the care you nee and deserve.
