I am an American born citizen with an English mother. I grew up drinking large quantities of black tea with

milk and sugar. As this lovely warm concoction was the standard drink in the house, it was irrelevant to ask if someone wanted a “cup of tea,” we simply asked if they wanted a “cup.” The tea was inferred.

For most people when they use the word “abundance,” they mean financial wealth. When we complain about something, it will fall into at least one of three categories: physical health, relationships, and money. If you inquire about someone’s well-being and they complained in return, it would likely be because of poor health, unhappy or lack of relationship, and/or not enough money.

The AbundantServant

However, when we speak about abundance, we do not think of good health or love relationships. We are speaking about money. It is inferred.

“Abundance is not something we acquire, it is something we tune into to,” said Wayne Dyer. Often when I am lecturing or teaching, and the subject of financial abundance arises, I am guided to speak of money for what it is: zeroes and ones in a computerized binary code.

Financial wealth, or the illusion of it, is just that, numbers in a computerized banking and credit card system used as leverage to obtain physical things. It is not true wealth.

What is true abundance and how does one “tune” into it?

To embrace true abundance and experience it, we must understand what it is and what it is not. Abundance is something that exists or is available in large quantities. It is plentiful, copious, ample, rich, lavish, abounding, liberal, generous, bountiful, great, prolific and teeming. It is to have plenty of something. The question is then, to have “abundance”, what is it that we have an abundance of?

When I think of abundance, I define it as the absence of its antonym, “lack.” It is having everything I need and want, like love, relationships, friends, comfort, joy, energy, inner peace, harmony, and safety. Abundance is freedom, total and complete freedom, from the concept of lack in every aspect of my life.

Being a philosopher, I have delved into this great issue for years trying to gain its accurate and precise understanding. I have meditated, prayed for answers, taken and taught courses, and read many books. It still eludes me. Even with my work, I have not unleashed something inside of my mind that resists embracing total surrrender. I have heard spiritual leaders speak of being in a complete place of faith and trust of a greater power to provide all we need in every way. I believe this although there is a place inside me that shudders in fear when I contemplate complete surrender to a higher power which I do not fully comprehend to have my best interests at heart. How could something be that magnificent and generous to afford me all of that freedom? How could something be that magnificent, generous, and abounding deem me worthy of such bounty?

True abundance looks and feels like living with gentleness and grace. It is waking every morning without a thought or concern to plague me. When I imagine how this could look, what comes to me is this feeling of being, not seeking. It would be walking through life seeing friends, family, my dog, having plenty of food, shelter, able to travel, cool drinks on a beach, warm clothes in a storm, laughter, love, intimacy, restful energy, having not a care in the world. Could this be real? And, is it selfish to want it?

Going back to this vision of walking through life having everything I need, I also see something else. I am giving my heart and time to

everyone. Because I have everything I need in every way, it never occurs to me anything other than completely giving and bountiful to everyone. Yes, this can be real. No, this is not selfish. When we are of service to others with a pure and generous heart, we live in a world of giving. When we live in a world of giving, serving the needs of all we see and meet, we experience abundance. We become the abundant servant.

“I came that they might have life and have it abundantly,” Jesus of Nazareth from John 10:10.

A servant is not a slave. A servant it is someone who serves. To serve means to support, to believe in, to rally to the aide of, and to give. To step into this world where there is only giving and support, a bridge of faith must be crossed. Faith comes from the Latin word “fidere” which means “trust.” When we decide there is only one great bridge to cross, this bridge of trust and faith, everything else falls into place. I approached this bridge kicking and screaming in fear that my faith was foolish, that if I did not take the actions myself to ensure my safety and security, I would be on a fool’s errand. Exhausted and out of options and coming out of my own dark night of the soul, I decided this past summer to give total faith a try. I had exhausted my human options and, like a child who is tired from their temper tantrum and

decides to surrender to authority, I surrendered to a greater power and decided to be of service in every way I knew. To give even when I was not sure if I had it to give.

This great transition came to me while in a deep meditation. For the years I operated the Temple of Light, I believed I was on a journey of creating a house of devotion and praise for spirit and through this act of service, I was one day going to be “worthy” of abundance from the Divine. This idea created stress, pressure, frustration, and heartache that while the Temple itself was not abundant, I had not done my “job.” And until I did my “job” and created a successful center for the Divine, I had not earned my worth and, therefore, not my abundance. There was unreconciled irony in my mind, I had to serve the Divine, without any help from the Divine, in order to be worthy of serving the Divine and getting the help to do it. Sounds crazy doesn’t it? And there is a human mind at work when it is disconnected from Source.

One glorious day this past summer, a great feeling came over me. What if I was already “worthy?” What if the idea I had to prove my worth to Divine Source was only a human thought and not a Universal truth? What if I was worthy of being a servant of Divine Source?

From that moment, I felt free.

Until then I thought I was serving people, giving my time for seven years to the Temple without any financial compensation, teaching, and counseling with all proceeds going back to the Temple. Now I see that I was not truly giving, but giving with an idea I was earning

something in return. I was trying to earn worth. It was not a gift; it was an exchange for something I now realize I already had.

Again I thought, “What if I AM already worthy?” I had no words to describe the relief this new belief brought. I no longer had anything to prove to Divine Source. I was already a servant of Divine Love.

As I felt this swell of love come over me for everyone I meet and see. I also have this feeling and knowing I can give to them something they need for support. I now walk around the Temple saying to people, “What do you need?” or “How can we help you?” without thought of them wanting too much or something we cannot provide.

The more we do this, the more comes to us. I never imagined receiving so many miraculous gifts and support. When we give from our hearts, we feel only giving. When we trust we have enough to give, we indeed do have enough to give. When we serve Divine Source in trust and faith, we are in abundance of everything we need.

World Peace CaravanBy Gary Young

In the history of mankind, we have not managed to create sustainable world peace. Perhaps we need fresher, less jaded, more forward-thinking and guileless minds to help find the solution.

Perhaps we should ask our youth for their ideas. After all, they are our next generation of leaders. Why not engage their optimism, ingenuity and dynamism now?

The World Peace Caravan is doing this. A global peace movement will culminate in a 12 day camel caravan from Petra, Jordan to Jerusalem in December, 2015, the World Peace Caravan is selecting a delegation of 12 Youth Ambassadors, ages 16-24, from a worldwide pool of candidates to spearhead the caravan.

They also are fostering an online Youth Community to provide young people everywhere a platform through which to share their ideas, voice their opinions, educate and be educated. The Youth Ambassadors and members of the Youth Community will participate in a unique, solutions-driven, project-based, global educational program based upon some of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Young people the world over will be collaborating on tackling such lofty goals as eradicating poverty and hunger, ensuring environmental sustainability, and attaining healthy lives for all.

Three separate times, I dreamt of leading a long caravan of camels through the desert on a journey for peace. The camels, ridden by people of all faiths, came from every direction and merged into one united stream.

After the third dream, so vivid it was almost jarring, I decided to tell my wife and two of my closest friends about it. Uncannily, they each responded with the exact same words, “This you must do.”

And so began the plans for the inaugural World Peace Caravan, 2015. I recognized the trail the caravan had traveled in his dreams as the Ancient Frankincense Trail in Arabia, since I had explored the storied trail many times on my travels there to research frankincense for my essential oils company. 3,000 years ago, the Queen of Sheba journeyed 1,400 miles with 750 camels on the ancient trade route to bring her peace offerings to King Solomon in Jerusalem. It was decided a modern day journey for peace be created which would invite people of all cultures, faiths, and backgrounds to come together on a caravan for peace that will retrace the steps of this earliest peace movement along parts of the Frankincense Trail.

The World Peace Caravan 2015 will begin in Petra, Jordan on December 15, 2015 and end in Jerusalem on December 26. The caravan will be spearheaded by the 12 member World Peace Caravan Youth Delegation and anchored by two landmark events, a two-day World Peace Caravan Peace and Health Conference on the Dead Sea in Jordan and a World Peace Caravan Concert for Peace in Jerusalem.

After a pre-launch celebration in Petra on the 15th, participants will caravan through Jordan by camel, horse or foot for four days and nights, camping along the way while exchanging multi-cultural activities

Page 9: Nov./Dec. 2014 Radiance magazine

November/December 2014 Radiance 9

including music, dance and educational seminars and exploring historical and religious sites.

The caravan will break on December 20 for a high-level, interactive WPC Peace and Health Conference at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre on the shore of the Dead Sea in Jordan on December 21 and 22. The conference of invited international peace advocates will focus on health, education, and the role of women and youth in peacemaking.

On December 23, the caravan will cross the border into the Palestine Authority for a visit to Jericho and a two day trek through the Judean desert, arriving in Bethlehem on December 25. The next day, the caravan will culminate with a Peace Walk into Jerusalem and the blockbuster World Peace Caravan Concert for Peace. Internationally renowned musical artists will mix with musicians from around the globe for a night of once-in-a-lifetime performances at the new state-of-the art Jerusalem Arena. The evening’s festivities will be broadcast and streamed around the world.

Many of us have an epiphany from the moment we decide to turn inward and seek a spiritual path. Often the life-changing event or revelation precedes

or instigates our transformation. It appears the form of dramatic disclosure is idiosyncratic and personal, but the message invariably homogeneous. Two of mine appeared almost simultaneously when rebirth into a new form was the only remedy for loss and tragedy. In the space of one year, three of my children were abducted by their father, my breasts were lost to subcutaneous mastectomies, and I received an admonishing letter from the rabbinical tribunal of Montreal, advising me I was an unfit member of the Jewish faith,. My devastation was complete.

I needed physical and emotional healing. The solutions presented were partly contained in the philosophies of education and body-mind consciousness developed by Moshe Feldenkrais. Because I was a dancer, a movement-based therapy made sense. These lessons immediately expanded my consciousness and provided a new range of movement. Although they were not geared to psychotherapy per se, they revealed a wealth of emotional and psychological content. The intense scrutiny I was encouraged to bring to my way of holding myself and moving, opened a series of Pandora’s boxes of subliminal pain, with the compensatory patterns I had developed to mask the hurt, and provide the survival tools necessary for continued functioning.

My desperation longed for an inspired vision. I received two books which spoke of the author’s encounters with

a remarkable teacher. They shook me to the core. The teachings of Carlos Castaneda’s mentor, the Yacqui Shaman Don Juan, presented a portal to the mystical, energetic that inflamed my imagination and lent me a certain reckless purpose.

The work with Feldenkrais presented a mental and somatic aspect of personal evolution. The teachings of Don Juan, an opening to the mystical and energetic. They extolled similar principles; the importance of economizing energy in search of power; the freeing up and reclaiming of energy lost or trapped in compulsive auto-pilot behavior and muscular holding patterns; and the liberation of the self from conditioned socialization.

They presented a path of individuation, to use Jung’s term, and a way to realize one’s full potential as a creative human imbued with magical powers of co-creation, connected to Divine Source. These two diverse schools, one coolly cerebral, the other wildly hallucinatory, provided seeds of inspiration I planted subliminally into every dance class and lesson in movement therapy I gave.

Four years after I embarked on the arduous task of disciplining my energetic or “dreaming” body and bring it under the control of my conscious mind, my efforts bore fruit. I began years of journeying into parallel universes and astral dimensions, terrifying and mysterious, exquisite and so infused with love as to reveal the true existence of angelic realms.

I awakened one winter’s morning in 1980 to increasingly disturbing bodily sensations. I heard birds

stirring and chirping, the soothing liquid percussion of the courtyard fountain, all familiar sounds that greeted my daily return to consciousness. But the sensations I was experiencing were unfamiliar and excruciating. I felt my body painfully transforming into a lioness! For a moment, I was neither woman nor feline.

I was becoming the physical manifestation of the totem animal that had visited me many times. A large female lion had stalked countless dreamscapes for as long as I could remember. She appeared when I was in danger, grieving, or troubled. Her first visit was not friendly; we fought, then she sprang at me, snarling. My fright was overwhelming; I struggled to conquer a paralyzing dread that rendered me weak and heavy, my limbs turning to lead.

Something “popped.” I felt a rush of energy, and my impotence turned to rage. Incensed, I wrestled her to the ground. We lay there, panting, and slowly her body softened. She nuzzled my shoulder.

She became my ally, appearing alone or sometimes in the midst of a pride of huge, phantasmagoric beasts, with glowing eyes and luminous manes. The hair that flowed outwards from the male’s heads was like nothing I had ever seen. The largest had a halo of alternating black and white rays framing his huge head like a geometric ruff rising from behind the neck of an Elizabethan courtier.

I was becoming one of them. Lying curled up on my right side, huddled against the predawn chill, the overwhelming sensation was of my coccyx elongating, elongating, and extending my spine downwards behind my knees. My tailbone throbbed and ached with the effort involved in transforming into a tail. My muscles lengthened and softened into a pliable elasticity unlike anything I ever experienced. They felt much warmer and softer than usual, but simultaneously ready to spring into action. The final sensation was of hair sprouting out of all my pores, folding downwards and creeping over my limbs to form a furry coat.

Strangely, I was more curious than alarmed. Somehow my witnessing self was watching from that strange, out-of–body place that hovers dispassionately a few feet above the perimeters of our physical body. Another part of me fretted the experience would end before I understood this ancient shaman’s art of “shape-changing.”

Although I had read about these magical arts countless times, and although I recognized I never processed any information solely intellectually (all my deepest realizations had been precipitated by somatic experience before being translated into the thinking process), it had not occurred to me this was what those legendary medicine men had done! Recreating a bodily experience that went far deeper than intellect and imagination alone could summon...

For the next 30 years, my intent was to develop a spiritual path through the body that would simultaneously open the way to self-knowledge and the control of the energetic or “dreaming" body.

As individual microcosms, we represent holograms of our universe; the more we reveal of ourselves to ourselves, the more we “see” the whole. For centuries this knowledge has been secret, jealously guarded, and contained in esoteric and elitist teachings.

During the Piscean Age, the seekers of knowledge had to find a personal master or guru, or be accepted into a cloistered circle to realize their dream. It is now the

Page 12: Nov./Dec. 2014 Radiance magazine

s s

12 Radiance November/December 2014

Age of Aquarius. The time for sharing and co-creation. All knowledge is accessible. The Guttenberg has been usurped by the Internet. There are no secrets.

Knowledge is not dangerous. It requires enormous energy to make use of higher teachings, and the acquisition of that energy demands a honing of the self and a relentless scrutiny that humbles the ego.

I wanted to elevate the lessons in function and bio-mechanics to another level. Understanding small movement impacts the nervous system in a direct and non-invasive fashion, I embarked on an exploration of lessons that would take this technique to an esoteric level. I wanted to find safe procedures that could replicate the kind of manipulation of perception that could be experienced in shamanic teachings. Going to Eastern schools and their focus on breathing techniques, coupled with visualization, provided an adequate, gentler solution.

I evolved a form of expansion that would allow each individual to develop in a secure, nurturing

environment. Free from competition or the ambition to “make things happen,” the student can explore self-knowledge at their own pace.

In the “Archetype” lessons, I combined the practical neuro-muscular lessons of re-alignment and re-education, with the mythical and magical aspects of shamanic shape-changing. At the most pragmatic level, the student will experience a new opening of consciousness and range of movement, especially in relationship to the spine. With this comes freedom from chronic pain, and a significant change in self-image and stress levels. The ability to live and move mindfully and elegantly is one of the greatest gifts one can give oneself. For the beginning student this may be enough, but as consciousness expands, the advantages of the esoteric aspects of the lessons will enrich creative potential and satisfy the soul’s longings to realize the totality of the self and come to know itself as a magical being experiencing embodiment in human form.

The lessons contain instruction in micro-movement. The advantage of reducing function to the lowest common denominator of muscular effort and range is alien to those educated in the Western philosophy of constant effort, competition, and the need to succeed. The idea of “allowing” is foreign to us, and “no pain, no gain” and “if at first you don’t succeed, try and try again” forms part of our vocabulary.

Most accomplished artists realize true art must be elegant, efficient. and appear effortless, or magic recedes and technique reveals itself as soulless and numbing, something that can be taught, but not transcended. On a purely pragmatic level all effort or anxiety to succeed will encourage the stronger muscle groups to “take over” leaving their weaker antagonists, or muscles that have suffered past trauma or injury, reduced in function or helpless. This produces a movement that is idiosyncratic, dysfunctional and unholistic. This develops as the human infant, subject to an apprenticeship in the development of the muscular and nervous systems, encounters many influences, starting with cultural, religious and “tribal” modes of comportment, posture and emotional expression, moving on to stereotyped ideas of education and medication to produce compliant Stepford models.

We warp the interesting members of society in the interest of antiquated, conformist, and unenlightened

Joan was born in South Africa with its ancient tradition of native healers. She developed her Cellular Recall Therapy over 30 years. Her association with dance and bodywork began with the invitation of Rosella Hightower, then artistic

director of the Paris Opera, to teach in France, which created a 10 year alliance. In her 30 year career, Joan has taught globally. She has practices in Los Angeles, Paris, and Zurich. Her clients have included dancers from Bejart, ABT and leading therapists. In Zurich, Joan works with psychologists, psychotherapists and healers, guiding them to a softer, effective way of working with patients. Joan has led a workshop at Cie Peter Goss in Paris, for 13 years. Her series exploring ancient evolutionary memory and shamanic shape-changing “Archetypes and the Body” was introduced in Paris in 1981. Joan sees clients at her Los Angeles practice and is available for workshops and seminars. ideas about education. This manifests in their minds and emotions and reflected in body language. The body becomes a reflection of the mind, where in the perfectly realized individual; it would be a reflection of the soul.

All emotional and physical trauma invites muscular holding patterns of defense and malfunction, which replaces healthy function. The brain relegates these compensatory, which involves permanent muscular contraction. Only by reducing the effort to minimum, and re-introducing the component parts of any function in implements, much in the fashion we first learned the function, (cleansed of emotional or muscular interference), can we “undo” the programming and introduce range and direction.

Fundamentally, these are imaginative, non-demanding body-mind explorations that will bring the beginner to a heightened awareness of function. The slow, minute explorations invite a non-judgmental, loving scrutiny of the self and body we have not enjoyed since childhood.

Like the child's developmental experience, the focus is on a timeless, “in the moment” learning and self-discovery, free of rigid goals or competition. Following these directions will increase range of movement, flexibility, and ease. Compulsive holding patterns that limit freedom of movement and emotional expression and often result in chronic pain can be brought from the unconscious to conscious awareness and released. The resulting body-mind connection will elevate mindfulness and creativity. When our energy is consumed in the holding patterns inherent in survival mode, there is little or no energy for evolution, peace of mind, well being, and our immune systems.

Our bodies hold ancient memories. In utero, we progressed from tadpole to fish, snake, lizard, bird, following a divine evolutionary scheme. When I channeled these lessons, I dreamt I gave birth to an infant with rudimentary wings attached to his scapulae. “Oh”, I whispered to my mother, “he is born too soon. He hasn’t had time for the wings to fall off!” I realized our symbols, whether geometric or archetypal, were contained in our physiognomy, before finding outward expression in art, religion and mathematics.

We have learned from studies of the nervous system (John Hughlins Jackson (1834-1911) the system evolves in successive structures (“The Body and Mature Behavior” Moishe Feldenkrais). Early patterns are

installed in the oldest part of the brain, and act without reference to our higher, cognitive controls. They are not subject to our intelligence or understanding, and function in a reactionary fashion. Despite years of therapy, and reflection, in stressful circumstances, we react rather than act. Krishnamurti said, “If only we could be faster than ourselves!” In these lessons, we access the oldest part of our brains and bring to consciousness the conception of our being.

The lessons follow the evolutionary stages of the developing fetus from Starfish-Pentagram in the uterus to Dolphin, whose typical, undulating nose-to-tail movement echoes the infant entering the birth-canal. Having entered this new matrix, the Earth, the infant learns to roll onto its stomach and lift its head like The Sphinx whose challenging riddle contains in its answer yet another reference to the human form.

The infant learns to crawl. The development of the spine is central to The Snake. The Dolphin is the first lesson in death and rebirth. The second is Psyche-The Butterfly whose rebirth from a cocoon symbolizes the transformation which takes place in the heart when we transmute desire into unconditional love. We gain the lightness that makes flight possible with The Bird where we breathe weightlessness into the hollows of all our joints and bones. Finally, we explore the symbology of Christ-Consciousness when we embody the plumed serpent Quetzacoatl, Toltec and Aztec savior-god. The lessons take us from our earliest beginnings to our highest potential in a safe, gentle, and inspiring manner.

We declare we have come to a decision, most often to dignify the process as a timely result of rational and conscious thought. But decisions are made of kneaded feelings; they rise and join together more often as a lump than a tidy sum.

Do you see yourself as a skilled problem solver? Most of us have been trained to

approach problem solving through linear thinking or one-track thinking. We identify the problem and come up with an acceptable solution.

The solution may address the current problem, but, at the same time, the this solution often creates unintended outcomes in the form of another problem. We then solve that problem which creates another problem and on and on it goes. The solution train travels on the straight

and narrow track and never veers off-course …until an unforeseen obstacle appears which needs another solution.

Our intellect is a marvelous tool. A trained mind efficiently compares the current problem with other problems addressed in the past. Many of us have become champion problem solvers and actually revel in the opportunity to ferret out problems so we can apply our accumulated knowledge in the quest to find a solution.

The intuitive mind moves in circles and is activated by our curiosity, our imaginative abilities, our willingness to court the unknown, and our skill at allowing new directions to reveal themselves.

One of my favorite consulting clients is a man who heads a large education firm in New York. Every six months or so, we spend two full days activating his intuitive problem solving capabilities so

Diving Deeply and ResurfacingBy Susan McNeal Velasquez

he can get a fresh look and a new perspective on his business.

We have a great time because he is a highly intelligent man with a willingness to let go of the known in favor of delving into the unknown.

My job is to bring in different ways of seeing. Together we map out new strategies so he can solidly manage and grow his company. We don’t focus on his employees or dissect his business strategies.

We use our time to delve into the task of freeing up his thinking and exploring his feelings so he can access his wisdom about the business he knows so well.

When we allow ourselves the time and room to delve; we hover, waver, stabilize, get in touch, open up, renew, see, know, and discover new approaches to old problems.

It is exciting and energizing to participate in the process of activating intuition and seeing new

answers blossom into workable strategies. Intuitive problem solving requires allowing stability and chaos to coexist side by side; the known and the unknown twisting and turning as a magnificent mystery until clarity surfaces.

I’ve done linear consulting and intuitive consulting; I like the results of intuition work far better. Why? Because the process energizes rather than drains energy. Intuition allows new ways to unfold rather than to ‘make it happen’ by pushing and shoving the right answer at the problem.

If intuitive problem solving is more effective, why don’t we all use it?

Accessing intuitive insights requires the courage of self-honesty and willingness to let go of control.

Intuition calls on inspiration which comes as a result of letting go. I must let go of my preconceived ideas of what we will be working on.

My client must let go of the fears and apprehensions of what might surface. He must let go of needing to be right or fearing his thoughts or feelings are wrong, unacceptable, or off the mark. He must let go of using his energy to maintain a predictable image.

He must be willing to explore his cherished beliefs about how he sees his employees. He may need to acknowledge built-up resistance and resentment towards people and plans which didn’t work out the way he expected them to unfold.

We both are required to form a sacred trust. We must trust

ourselves, extend trust and respect to each other, and be willing to surrender to a dynamic process which moves, deepens, twists, and turns mysteriously through multi-faceted levels of thinking, feeling, and communicating until new dimensions and alternatives awaken.

Instead of finding a problem and over-analyzing it, we involve ourselves and participate in the known realities of what is working and not working until new paths of workable actions emerge.

Intuitive problem solving is not only efficient and effective; it is also exciting and fun.

Following are some attitudes and fixed behaviors which act as strong deterrents to the process of

Page 18: Nov./Dec. 2014 Radiance magazine

s s

18 Radiance November/December 2014

unleashing the potent power of our intuition. Let’s call these stumbling blocks the 8 major anti-intuitive behaviors which stand in the way of your creative brilliance.

#1. You have a strong need to be in control, a dislike of intensity, and an addiction to keeping things superficial while thinking you can fake it and it will all work out somehow. In this case, intuitive ways of knowing can be threatening because the destination is unknown and unknowable at the beginning of the journey.

#2. You are bound by rigid rules and negative self-judgments. These behaviors keep you stuck in a prison of mental limitations and emotional pain. Your mind and heart remain so closed you would need to have your knuckles hit with a lug wrench before you think about letting go.

#3. You take your problems and yourself too seriously. This creates a climate which kills spontaneity. Intuition and humor are cousins. They have in common the ability to take unexpected leaps in thinking, but neither can survive in a climate devoid of light, expectant energy.

#4. You are impatient, want fast answers, and usually take the easy way out. This keeps you numb to your deeper needs and desires. It keeps you out of touch with the ability to hear and notice the subtleties and nuances which is the language intuition speaks.

#5. Lack of confidence and a lack of permission to think independently. This will keep you from opening to your intuition because of the discomfort with the surprising,

unpredictable, and unconventional knowledge available from your unique wisdom base.

#6. You fear success. Intuition likes to help make things work through creative, imaginative, and innovative solutions. When you expect to fail, you are closed to hearing intuitive messages which assist your decision-making work.

#7. You have low self-esteem. Intuition isn’t attracted because low self-esteem often translates into a serious mistrust of anything coming directly from within you.

#8. You have excessive security needs, fear of change, and intolerance of uncertainty. These attitudes conspire to stifle and suffocate your intuitive gifts. When you seek control and predictability by following rigid rules, your intuition gets limited to safety issues rather than being valued for its strongest talents, which are innovation and creativity.

As we give ourselves permission to trade in the habit of glorifying one-dimensional thinking as strong, rational, serious, and the only right way, we step off of the self-selected treadmill of energy demanding problem solving and yield to letting inspiration deliver new ways to see and support our lives.

Intuitive problem solving allows a miraculous partnership between the known and the unknown to surface and help us thrive rather than merely survive.

It is exciting to anticipate the progression and growth which comes from rising to challenges which yield the promise of increased accomplishments as a result of

climbing the highest mountain and reaching for the stars.

What is not obvious is when we set the intention to plumb the depths of our inner consciousness, we open our mind, soften our heart, and deepen our resolve to thrive.

We dive deeply and resurface, refreshed and rejuvenated by our contact with our unique storehouse of wisdom. This inner genius sits waiting patiently for those of us who are determined to dive to the depths of their soul to make contact with this guidance, protection and direction that is our birthright.

Law of REtraction: A Powerful Tool for ChangeBy Neale Donald Walsch

Let me share one of the most important tools from my Living From Your Soul Course. This tool will help you to re-create your life anew each day and virtually eliminate the pain of

“bad” experiences, allow you to realize, in spite of how it might seem, ultimately, there are no bad experiences.

Let me explain:

Have you ever been betrayed, ignored, or lied to? Have you ever lied to someone, ignored them, or said or done something you regret?

Sometimes things happen you wish didn’t. You may also wish you reacted differently. You wish you hadn’t been hurtful or dishonest, or wish you could have expressed your emotions more clearly when someone hurt you.

And when you say or do something that simply isn’t a representation of your truest self, you wish you had a second chance to do things over and make them right.

Well, guess what? You do have that chance!

During Step Two of the Living From Your Soul Course, I offer three incredible tools for staying connected to your soul, one of which is a tool for re-creating your life. continued on page 20 >>

This is the tool I’ll discuss in this article, one which gives you a second (or third or fourth) chance to be the person you want to be at your soul’s core.

You might ask, “How is all this possible? How can all the healing and change occur?”

To see this clearly, you must observe, with gratitude, life’s most wonderful gift: “reliable repetition.”

What this means is you can depend on life to be repetitious. Very few events or situations arising in your life will be much of a surprise anymore.

This tool will allow you the incredible opportunity to decide ahead of time how you want to react and respond to similar experiences when they repeat in your life.

I call it the “Law of Retraction.” This tool can be used to retract old decisions and make new ones instantly. This is what true creation is about.

When you bear witness to your response to life’s current events and immediately retract what you decided in the past about similar events, you give

Page 20: Nov./Dec. 2014 Radiance magazine

s s

20 Radiance November/December 2014

yourself incredible power—including the power to end struggle and suffering forever.

When you know your soul’s agenda, and know how you want to express your truest self—whether it is to be a person of great compassion, wisdom, love, gentleness, or whatever you choose—you can make the conscious decision every day to be that, no matter what happens.

During the next week, become aware of repeating experiences or times when you are triggered and feel the same, familiar emotions.

Maybe your children demand something of you, your partner upsets you, or you’re overwhelmed by work.

What if you could right now tap into the core of who you really are and decide ahead of time how your soul wants you to respond next time these things happen?

Then, when the time comes, you’ll be able to respond exactly that way.

And because you’ll have the same kinds of experiences again and again, you’ll have many chances to re-create your responses and your life in the process.

Your true power is you get to decide how you wish to show up in the world each and every day so the circumstances of life no longer make you suffer or feel helpless.

By using this tool, you can make conscious, creative decisions about how to respond to life’s challenges, based on the agenda of your soul—on who you really are and who you want to be.

Balancing Energies for Body, Soul, and Psyche

By Adrian Campbell

The ancient Greeks believed that the psyche and soul were interchangeably linked as one. Health concerns and issues were treated in a way that addressed not only the

symptoms, but also their underlying issues. As time moved forward western culture turned away from this holistic style of practice and towards medication. Unfortunately, symptoms are the subconscious’ way of asking for help, and by using medication to mask these symptoms we lose the ability to treat the actual problem.

In the last few decades the medical community has very slowly started to make its way back into the realm of holistic healing. They have begun to realize that treating symptoms only leads to more serious issues. Whereas treating what lies beneath not only diminishes the symptoms, but also provides a lasting cure. Holistic healing involves addressing the entire person, mind, body, and soul during treatment. In addition to western medicine practices, including therapy or coaching, there are many different forms of

energy work which can help bring balance back to our personal healing systems. Often it is the imbalance of these systems that can lead to many of the painful or neurotic symptoms that people turn to medication to deal with.

Reiki is a form of energy healing that has been known to help people find the balance their body and soul craves. It works to clear energetic blockages which have been created over time and can lead to severe disturbances in our ability to self-heal. In addition to promoting self-healing it can assist the body in clearing itself from toxins, accelerate surgical recovery, aide better sleep, and assist in spiritual growth and emotional healing. Reiki energy also helps to balance the Chakra system and clear the aura, releasing negative energies which may be stuck in your bio-energetic field.

The practice of Reiki first came to the United States in 1937, but its centuries old roots are Japanese and Tibetan. The International Center for Reiki Training

Our bodies and the Earth are one. What we do to the Earth, we do to our bodies. What we do to our bodies, we do to the Earth. The conflict, turmoil, unconsciousness,

and damage we see are reflections of our inner state. Healing our world begins with healing ourselves.

Human beings exist on many levels: physical, mental, emotional, psychological, spiritual, familial, karmic, environmental, cosmic. These levels are present and operating within our bodies and energetic fields, endlessly processing and storing information, exerting powerful influences on our thoughts, feelings, actions, relationships, prosperity, and health.

Through the application of loving consciousness (Love is the essential element of healing) we can access deeper levels of our being. We can locate areas in the body where memories, imprints, and messages reside, typically within the brain and spinal cord, the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, lymph centers, blood, bones, cells and sub-cellular structures. We can trace the pathways of these unconscious influences through the principal body energy centers or chakras and meridians, and in the interactions between our bodies and energetic fields. We can intuitively reveal weaknesses or obstructions within these systems and their connections. We then can correct, clear, cleanse, and release the stagnant material within these circuits and replenish it with vital, life-force energy.

While the results of this approach can be stunningly dramatic, the method is simple. In RAM healing (Radiance

Aesthesia Method™), we take a multidisciplinary path incorporating ancient and quantum age techniques. We achieve access and effect change through conscious breathing, presence, intuition, creative visualization, and the focused application of Love expressed as Light. This is a spiritual, metaphysical practice done in collaboration and co-creation with Spirit, where we open to the presence and power of The One and let it do its thing. As I tell my clients: "Spirit does the work. We just show up for the meeting."

This message is at the heart of my personal practice, and the core of what I teach in my workshops. The power to heal is in us. It is our divine birthright.

The Celebration of Life Center in Bonsall located in beautiful San Diego County is set in a quite

two-acre property. It features a beautiful, rustic, 100-year-old plus adobe building of 6,000 square feet and a garden with trees, fountains, fire pit, and rest areas.

The property is home to a number of farm animals: roosters, hens, doves and two whites peacocks that inspire our spiritual honor and loyalty.

Celebration of Life Center

Go to www.templeoflightoc.org/bonsall to see the schedule of events and activities in November and December 2014 occuring prior to the official Grand Opening in January 2015.

Just like the Temple of Light in Irvine, the Celebration of Life Center in Bonsall will have drumming circles, holistic healing fairs, meditations, lecture events, workshops, ceremonies, and events on the solstices and equinoxes ... and more!

The first event was held on September 21 to celebrate the Fall Equinox when members of the Temple of Light were joined by governmental, and chamber leaders for fire and gong ceremonies and planting of crystals. In total, approximately 50 people gathered under the beautiful sky and sparkling stars to honor current friendships and begin new ones.

We hope you will join us for another sacred ceremony on December 21, the Winter Solstice.

Bonsall is bursting with abundant Spirituality! As the season of “Thanks” approaches, as Executive

Administrator of the Bonsall Chamber of Commerce, I am excited to welcome the Temple of Light to your new, and second, location in Bonsall,

Your recent blessing ceremony was lovely, powerful and attended by many well-known, local spiritual groups who also welcome you to our abundant, growing community!

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, and now a resident of Fallbrook near Bonsall for the past six years, I am thrilled as our spiritual community grows and prospers.

Bonsall is a small, quiet community of 4,000 residents many of whom have “Gentleman’s Ranches” with

up to five acres with avocado and citrus groves, and a strong equestrian population.

Just 15 minutes inland, we benefit from cool, ocean breezes and beautiful rolling hills in an affluent, quiet community, perfect for spiritual retreats. Located on Highway 76, the once two-lane country road is being expanded to four lanes to connect Interstate 5 with 15, making Bonsall more visible and accessible to visitors and tourism, and serves as a southern gateway to Fallbrook (pop. 48,000.)

Our spiritual community includes: Bonsall’s Honorary Mayor, Kathi Carbone, a Reiki Master, who owns the Ascension Metaphysical Bookstore and Yoga/Health Center at the Bonsall Village Shopping Center where she holds Intuitive/Alternative Health Fairs, classes

for Spiritual Living (UCSL-Science of Mind) in nearby Fallbrook - a thriving spiritual community, which also holds classes and events; the beautiful Thien Vien Dai Dang Vietnamese Buddhist Monastery; The Stream (Beth Green) spiritual community; and a plethora of individual holistic practitioners and spiritual workers.

Many residents are naturally and energetically “drawn” to this spiritual area rich with vortexes, large rock formations, rolling hills, pink tourmaline mines (Fallbrook hosts the Gem & Mineral Society and museum), organic farming, Palomar Mountain to the east and the Pala Band of Indians reservation where the terrain is ripe and abundant with natural sage bushes used in cleansing ceremony.

We thank you for choosing Bonsall for your new home, and welcome The Temple of Light and your community to our growing spiritual family! We look forward to assisting

If you never feel stress, stop reading this article because you are one in a million – or maybe one in five million.

For the rest of us, stress is a way of life. If we could illustrate it, a volatile stock chart might be a perfect example, spiking wildly up and down throughout the day as traders buy and sell incessantly. Bad news can set off a new spike; a truck tailgating you, a line at the

checkout when we need to pick our kids, a colleague gossiping about us, a hurtful comment, or anything on the news. ISIS, Ebola, climate change, unemployment, an oil spill… the adrenal and cortisol start coursing through our veins, our hearts race, our blood pressure rises, and we begin yelling at colleagues, friends, loved ones, and even ourselves.

The smallest thing may trigger us

because it reminds us of another event that had set us off. It is like suffering from mild cases of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). Corporate America knows this and created numerous multibillion dollar industries designed to mask our stress. We can drink alcohol, eat fast food, shop and buy things we don’t need, watch hundreds of cable channels mindlessly, or get a

drug to help us sleep, relax, or treat depression.

None of these “solutions” address stress at the root; they only offer a distraction or numbness. All have potentially serious side effects. Yes, even TV. It overstimulates us, puts us in a state of fight or flight, and causes adrenalin and cortisol to be created. When our minds are fully absorbed in the game or drama, it promotes products to reduce stress, increase happiness, and fulfillment which do not do anything except boost corporate profits.

It sounds bad, doesn’t it? But there is a way out. A real way, with no negative side effects, that not only will reduce your stress, but also will guide you towards living a more fulfilled life in greater alignment with your heart’s deepest longings. No matter who you are, what challenges you had, or challenges you are facing, there’s a way out. You have the power to change it all. You were born with it. It’s been within you all your life. All you need is to do is unlock it and, in time, you will set yourself free.

Before we get to the practice which can guide you into busting stress daily, let me share my journey into the darkest reaches of stress, anger, fear, self-pity, and depression. I was in the prime of my life with the career of my dreams as a broadcast news correspondent. I uncovered and exposed sexual slavery rings, Nazi war criminals, white collar crime, political corruption, and environmental degradation. I was making a positive contribution to the world, and it gave me a profound

sense of worth. Ultimately, I was a war correspondent, reporting from the front lines of the Gulf War, Afghanistan, Africa, Latin America and beyond. I documented the suffering in refugee camps and the slaughter of innocent victims. My career was so fulfilling it became my complete identity.

However, for the last seven years of my career, I was keeping a deep secret. I had cracked the lowest vertebra in my back shortly after my time in Afghanistan when I fell from a ledge during a tropical storm. I masked the pain with heavy medications and a few drinks nightly. When the pain became unbearable, I thought about the wounded children in refugee camps and kept pushing forward.

After the Gulf War, I was put in charge of covering Asia. In 1993, while on assignment in the Philippines, the crack in my vertebra split open. I collapsed in all-consuming pain, and was flown

back to the States for major back surgery. To my shock and disbelief, the surgery failed. I was declared permanently disabled, confined to a body brace, and given even stronger pain medications.

The emotional pain cut deeper than the physical. I had lost my identity. I no longer felt I had any worth or a reason to live. I was so sedentary my weight ballooned to 225 pounds. I drank more heavily and chewed painkillers and muscle relaxants every day. I became a master of the negative emotions I mentioned earlier: Anger, fear, self-pity and depression. For the next four years, I plummeted into the darkness, and then—like a miracle—my only child was born.

His birth gave me a reason to live; I embraced it with everything I had. Three months later, I became profoundly ill. I was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer from exposure years earlier to depleted uranium used by American forces in the Gulf War. My

doctors said I would not live more than two years. Consumed by guilt I was leaving this little boy’s life and wracked by more physical and emotional pain, I pushed everyone away, except him. My relationship with his mother was over, and I can barely imagine what it must have been like to be with me. I got darker and darker, drank more heavily, and popped endless handfuls of morphine, Vicodin, Valium and Prozac as my weight ballooned past 225 pounds. As we celebrated my son’s second birthday, I knew it would be my last with him. A few days later, he came to me as I lie in bed, and spoke three words that changed my life: “Get up, Daddy.”

His voice and those words whirled through my mind during Christmas and the dawning of the year 2000. How could I get up? I was broken, pain-wracked, dying. I checked into rehab and kicked the drugs and alcohol, hoping one day someone would tell my boy his daddy did his best and died with dignity.

Going cold turkey after 14 years of heavy drugs brought many dark nights of the soul. I crawled out of that experience completely dazed, in greater pain, and with no idea where to turn. It was then I was invited into an experimental pain clinic.

I did not understand what the doctors said as they explained the methodology was based on ancient Eastern healing modalities, blended with Western holistic therapies, but I grabbed onto it like a lifeline. That experience gave me the understanding I had a role to play in my healing, and I had to remake myself in body, mind, and soul. One

month into this journey, I began therapeutic yoga. I had never tried yoga, and the jaded, cynical part of me scoffed at it. However, a deeper voice inside me was screaming, “This is it!” I listened to the inner voice and embraced yoga with all I had. A few weeks later, when the clinic closed for lack of funding, I went home and built a yoga room. I practiced for hours every day, reading ancient texts, and exploring asana, pranayama, meditation, fasting, veganism, and intense hatha purifications… applying the science of yoga to my life.

The healing happened so slowly and organically I barely noticed. The weight came off. The back pain subsided. The cancer departed. As my son turned four, I fulfilled a promise I had never dreamed possible. I carried him on my shoulders through our village’s annual Christmas parade. Thanks to yoga, daddy got up. Most importantly, I took a thousand pounds of chronic stress off of my emotional body. I taught myself to replace negative emotions that dominated me with gratitude, compassion, acceptance, and forgiveness. Through this process, I slowly changed the inner chemistry of stress, to which I had become addicted, into an inner chemistry of healing and wholeness. I realized while pain and suffering are inevitable, stressing is a choice that becomes an addiction, an identity, a shield, and a weapon. I learned without exception, we have an amazing inner power to heal ourselves, overcome obstacles, and manifest our fullest potential. This is the power of our inner wisdom; it

truly is our birthright.

As I also mentioned earlier, yoga is a complex, powerful, and potent science. All the poses, pranayama, meditation and mantra have a host of benefits for body and mind, but they share a single goal: Bringing us to a place where we can be silent, still, and focused enough to connect at the soul level. This is where we access a deeper inner knowing, make more conscious decisions, and live in greater wellness on all levels.

Eight Steps to Busting StressFind time to sit in stillness and silence. Practice the following steps into the deeper consciousness of yoga and enter a place where stress melts away and you can choose skill in action rather than stressful reaction to life’s inevitable ups and downs.

1. Softly Close Your Eyes This is a transition from externalized to internal awareness. Notice what it feels like inside.

2. Connect With Your Breath Breathe more deeply and fully. Cultivate a sense of awe at the miracle of your breath. See every in-breath as an empowerment and affirmation; every out-breath as a healing release.

3. Feel Your Body Experience your body as the temple of your spirit, a sacred vessel always supporting you. Send your breath to the outer

edges; flood the inner space of you.

4. Notice Mother Earth Notice how she supports you as you sit in this meditation. Feel her in every cell of your body. Have profound gratitude for the abundance she brings.

5. Still Your Mind Begin to silently chant the mantra, “I am calm and relaxed.” This is a yoga pose for the busy mind. Allow it to still the turbid waters of your thoughts.

6. Enter Your Heart Visualize your awareness flowing down from the mind to your heart center as if there is a golden flame right behind your breastbone illuminating you. Breathe into that light, feeling more radiant and luminous with every breath. “I am calm

and relaxed.”

7. Be Fully Present Slip into the present moment: In your body, in your breath, in the palms of Mother Earth, in the light of your heart. “I am calm and relaxed.”

8. Remember Who You Are You are the master of your destiny. You have a choice in every situation. You have choice. You have chosen to make a conscious, heartfelt choice. “I am calm and relaxed.”

In this state of awareness, ask your deeper self, “How can I accept whatever challenge I am facing and act skillfully rather than reacting stressfully?” Your deeper self will whisper an answer quickly, giving you a skillful course of action. Embrace the answer, still breathing deeply and saying, “I am calm and relaxed.”

Suffering, which we can define as

pain, frustration, inconvenience, challenge, unwelcome surprise, tragedy, insult and conflict, is inevitable. Stress and negative reaction is a choice. So is skillful action. Which do you think might serve you better? “I am calm and relaxed.” Make that choice and act on it. Notice how you feel inside and how things work out now you have chosen a better course of action.

Have you ever had a dream that you never thought would be realized? One that many considered your "pipedream" or "something you would never finish

because you had been "working on it" for so long? I have had my own share. However, From Ash to Flame: Women Rising was a dream I could not let die.

I had to finish it no matter how many times I quietly put it aside to deal with the reality of financial downturns, unemployment, anxiety, and hopelessness.

I had made a promise to God to be "the voice" for the women I interviewed. Their stories are too amazing not to share them. Some you may know; others are from women who have gone about their lives quietly doing what they do best: be of service to others.

You might be wondering how this project began.

Briefly, I had suffered from depression for most of my life, although when I was growing up my "darkness" didn't have a name. I was sad ... a lot. However, I put on a "happy" face. In fact, those who knew me when I was a child and young adult may even have described me as "a goof" or a "clown." I hid the darkness well.

I fought the overwhelming feelings to do away with myself, especially after I had my children, Kirsten, Elke, and Thor. My sister Connie committed suicide when I

WomenRisingBy Rev. Basia Christ, PhD

was pregnant with Thor. Her life was full of bad choices, I understood why she did it; but I was angry at her for years because of the negative impact it had on her four children. I guess this is why I never went through with my plan. I didn't want my children to suffer as hers had.

I continued making mistakes and ended up at age 60 twice divorced, unemployed after losing a lucrative job because I didn't want to leave California after my former employer moved me here. I was living in paradise and, although I lost my savings, retirement, and any security I had at that point, I wasn't going to leave.

On August 14, 2005, I sat alone staring at the white screen of my computer wondering "what the hell am I supposed to do?" I was alone and broke. My children were living their lives and I didn't want intrude on them. I was the mom. I was supposed to be the strong one. And on that day, which happened to have been Connie's birthday (she would have been 61 had she lived), my fingers took on a life and began pecking away at the keyboard. My mind was frozen so I let them do what they wanted.

What appeared on the monitor was a tirade of my "useless" life. Mistake after mistake. Failure after failure. Sadness. Despair. Hopelessness.

I couldn't - and wouldn't - stop my fingers from shoving the words into my face. It was all true. I couldn't deny the truth even though I hated it.

That was the darkest moment I ever had. It was time to decide. No more sitting on the fence. It was going to end - one way or another. I didn't ever want to feel this way again. The pain was too much even for one who thought she was immune.

Reflecting on that moment, the decision to pray was not from my mind. I hadn't done that since I was 12-years-old when I came to the conclusion, "God was a lie. There was no God." And if there was a God, he was evil and didn't care what happened to innocent children.

That's the belief I had for decades. In that moment, I jumped off the fence on the side of prayer. I thought, "I'll give God one more shot. If He lets down again, I can kill myself later."

So I prayed for a reason to live.

I share what happened in the next eight years in From Ash to Flame: Women Rising as I was "led" to the teachers from whom I needed to learn. Twenty-six women showed me the real meaning of life. And I took each lesson into my heart, but not until I had to go through several "dark nights of the soul" as I confronted childhood demons and learned to forgive, myself and those who I felt had hurt me, and tell the truth - in its ugliness and beauty.

By no means is my journey over. In fact, I feel I have only taken the first steps. However, I am on the right path for the first time in my life.

It has taken me more than 60 years before I could look into the mirror and see a woman I want for a friend. A woman with flaws, a human woman, but a good woman.

I don't think my story is unique. I believe we all have had dark secrets, childhood traumas, disappointments, failures, and betrayals in our lives.

However, I do believe readers will benefit from the lessons these women taught me.

In the process of finishing my book, the Universe added the icing on the cake. I launched my Internet radio show, "Speaking from Spirit: Become Who You Are Meant to Be" on the Amazing Women of Power Network. My

Listening with amazement, I heard these words come out of my mouth as my body puffed up with

pride, “I am Queen Victoria’s piper. None can play the pipes as well as I.” I saw myself as a brawny Scotsman in a kilt playing the bagpipes.

After more information about this past life tumbled from me, the image faded. I switched to speaking in the third person. “You have come far,” I said, as I proceeded to give myself a short spiritual pep talk.

Gradually, I figured out I was channeling information for myself. However, I had no idea this, my first experience with clinical past life regression and channeling, would lead me to become a professional channeler.

My spiritual journey began in 1977 when, as a teenager, I had a dream come true. I dreamed I was at a show with my horse, hanging up a string of ribbons we had won, which included champion and reserve champion rosettes. Three months later, I did exactly what I had done in the dream. For proof, my boyfriend took a photo!

The next step on my spiritual path was a dark night of the soul experience which I would not wish on anyone. Soon after my dream, my life was changed by a traumatic horseback riding injury which left me with chronic back pain for years. I became severely depressed.

To cope with the pain, I went to a massage therapist. Holistic treatments and conventional

medicine jump started my healing process. I became a massage therapist.

While in massage school, I had out-of-body experiences as I worked on students with chronic back pain. I felt like my feet were one foot off the ground and I sensed a presence in the room— which I now believe was Archangel Raphael.

Bewildered, I shared this experience with my instructor to which he replied, “Have you had enough to eat today?”

Disgusted by his response, I walked away. Later, a staff member who was a medical intuitive offered help. She became my first spiritual mentor.

When I opened a massage therapy practice, people with chronic pain

came. As I helped others, my pain decreased.

Then I had two sessions with an angelic healer and my chronic pain disappeared from a serious injury 20 years earlier.

I became curious about why it took so long to heal. This is what led me to past life regression and channeling.

Shortly after my regression as Queen Victoria’s piper, I sensed channeling would become part of my life. I began training with Frances Pullin and Steve Lesko.

The first entity showed up in Frances’ class. I listened, astonished, as an Irish accent came out of my mouth. “'Tis McGillicuddy here to wish you good day!’ Long forgotten memories of my father telling me “McGillicuddy stories” as a child flooded my brain. Mr. McGillicuddy is a leprechaun. He represents the elementals who are guardians of the environment. He was my first contact because he would not frighten me.

In the two years since my first past life regression, I have become “an equal opportunity channeler." Many different multicultural entities speak through me: Native American Godsource; goddesses, archangels and Ascended Masters. This article is a channeled message from Archangel Michael.

“Good afternoon, dearest of dear ones. It is Archangel Michael who has come to speak with you about carving out your niche, stepping forward into your power and into the future to fulfill your divine plan. For this is a time of tumultuous change. You are all to step forward

into your power in varying degrees and in various time frames. There is no right or wrong; there are only individual time frames. And for each of you, the experience is different.

You each must carve out your niche. Asking us for help along the way is important. But do not forget to give us permission as well. For we cannot help you without your permission. As you have free will, it is up to you whether or not to accept our help. If you wish to accept our help, the final step is to allow it to happen. All these are important for you to receive our guidance on your path—asking, permitting, accepting, and allowing.

Each of you is an artist carving out your own pathway on your spiritual journey. Consider the great artist M i c h e l a n g e l o , who sculpted the beautiful statue of David.

M i c h e l a n g e l o saw visions in stone. After the quarryman hewed a marble block from the rock wall and delivered it to his studio, M i c h e l a n g e l o stayed in a state of meditation with the stone. The marble block spoke to him.

He saw the negative space and positive space within the

stone before he began to carve. The positive space was the space filled by David’s body; the negative space was the air-filled space between. For example, David’s arm and side. The negative space often caused Michelangelo trouble for he wished it to be just as beautiful as the positive space. Michelangelo had times when he felt stuck and asked God, “What do I do now?”

Periods when you feel blocked or stuck, allow moments of quietude where you may go within, ponder your situation and ask for guidance. Carve out and allow that space within you and without you, for solutions to come. And come they will during your journey, especially when you ask, permit, allow, and accept.
