Play your part in college lifeThere are many ways you can contribute to life at college, over and above your studies and enrichment activities.

Our active Students Union, which is affiliated to theNational Union of Students, supports the social andwider political interests of our students, including recent campaigns about tuition fees and EducationalMaintenance Allowances.

Student representatives from each course help to provide feedback on how we can improve the structure and delivery of our teaching and learning.

But students are also encouraged to take an active rolein college governance by standing for election to ourboard of governors. Each year, two student governorsare elected and play a full role in the strategic leadershipof the college.

This may sound daunting, but in practice it means that they take part in our monthly governors meetingshelping to oversee the direction of the college, how wellwe are performing, and how effective we are in respondingto the needs of our students and our community.

This year’s student governors are Reece, who’s studying Public Services, and Arnold who is studyingInformation Technology.

There we will guide you onthe most appropriate course for you, carry out anassessment to see which level you should start at, and, if required, give you support to find a job (because allapprentices need to be employed).

If you’ve already got a job offer, you should contact ourStudent Services team as soon as possible so one of ouradvisers can discuss your apprenticeship requirementswith your employer.
