Snail’s Pace Retreat: November 5-11 at Lutheranch Late Summer/Fall 2012

Songs to Sing at Lutheridge: August 17-19, 2012

Recognize the need for physical, mental, and spiritual renewal... restore your balance with the opportunity to think, pray, hike, and simply be. A Snail’s Pace Retreat Ministry provides individuals or small groups the opportunity to rest, renew, and deepen your spiritual connections. Join our staff and Spiritual Directors in this midweek (your choice of one to four nights) and/or weekend of life at a snail’s pace. During the midweek, enjoy unstructured time alone to reflect, blended with a daily communal meal for conversa-tion and connections. The weekend retreat includes full meals and intentional content combined with individual time. Individual Sessions with Spiritual Directors are avail-able at $50 per hour, but are not included in the rates below. Single rooms are given, unless a roommate is requested.

Cost during the week or for the weekend: Mid-week - November 5-9: $60 per night: Communal dinner provided daily; basket of bread, cheese, fruit, and drinks delivered each morning.

Weekend - November 9-11: $180 per person for weekend. Full meal service provided (Saturday breakfast through Sunday brunch.

Come for the full retreat (November. 5-11): $390 per person

What a wonderful musical heritage we Lutherans have!! Lutheridge provides another opportunity for sharing the many songs that we know and learning new ones at the new choral retreat weekend. This is a time for adult choirs of all sizes to come together and learn from a skilled, faith-filled leader. There will be plenty of rehearsal, food, learning, and fun!

Beginning with dinner on Friday evening and ending with a worship/concert on Sunday morning, you will be surrounded by people there for exactly the same reasons. Participants will leave with 5 polished, ready-to-sing pieces, appropriate for worship with any size congregation. Workshops and a reading session will also be available. The clinician will be Dr. Chris Sheppard: Director of Choral Activities at Newberry College.

Bikers, Bibles, & Blue Ridge Byways at Lutheridge August 31-September 3, 2012

What woman out there does not need some time for renew-al, relaxation, and rest? A perfect weekend opportunity awaits you. Meet new friends and soak in the beautiful scenery and solitude of Luther Springs. Weekend activities may include: devotions, music, inspirational conversations, journaling, and several spa-type activities such as facials, hand/foot scrubs, and massages. There will be an additional fee for some spa services. Stay in the new Kuehner Conference Center or with groups in the Morgan Village.

Men’s Motorcycle Ride and Retreat at Lutheridge: The last hurrah of the summer is best experienced from the saddle of your bike. Join in men’s fellowship, worship, food, and lots of riding! Imagine riding the southeastern roads with other Christian men and having the opportunity to tell your stories, laugh, and experience genuine camaraderie.

Bible study and worship leaders for the weekend will be Pastor William Hamilton, Jr. and Pastor Chuck Miller.

God’s Spa for Women at Luther Springs September 28-30, 2012

Bring the family and enjoy the splendor of an Appalachian fall! Lutherock and Mother Nature put on a pageantry of color dur-ing this October weekend. Hike to Cross Rock for a breathtak-ing view, climb the ropes course, pick apples or make apple ci-der, feast on autumn meals, and take pleasure in sitting around a campfire.

Special hayride and crafts are available for kids of all ages! The cost includes lodging for two nights, Saturday breakfast through Sunday breakfast, and program costs.

Leader for 2012: The Rev. Dr. Mark Fitzsimmons, pastor at the Lutheran Church of the Nativity, will lead a Bible study each morning on “The Narrow Gate: Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount”.

Gather with adults from throughout the southeast for the study and discussion of this important body of Jesus’ teaching as well as daily devotions. The week also includes afternoon outings to see Fall Colors and area attractions, on-site activi-ties, and evening fellowship events.

Faith Alive! Confirmation Retreats at Lutheridge

but 5th grade and high school youth are welcome to attend (Campers will be placed in cabin groups with those close to their own age).

Adult leaders are welcome and encouraged to participate, but not re-quired to attend. Each camper creates a “witness” to share with those back home what they have learned. Pastors Tim and Mary Canniff-Kuhn provide program design and oversight, with involvement from other leaders.

Adult Leaders for Faith Alive! are welcome to register and partici-pate in ALL program sessions. Cost for an adult who is a FULL partici-pant (must select a retreat) is $75 per adult. Limited adult housing is available on some weekends (register early!). Adults may also register as a full participant, but stay off-site for $25 per adult. Adults who drop off campers and wish to stay on camp, but not participate in program may arrange meals and housing, if available, at regular rates by con-tacting our offices.

November 9-11, 2012 - Old Testament Overview: Explore how the Old Testament came to be, major themes and story lines, and how Lutherans understand the OT as the WORD of God. The witness will help youth relate OT stories to their daily lives. New Testa-ment will be taught in 2013.

February 15-17, 2013: Holy Baptism: This retreat teaches the centrality of sacrament in Lutheran worship. Youth will experience baptism as the sacrament of belonging. We are God’s forever! (Cabins)

Join Luther Springs and ALOA (Adult Lutherans Organ-ized for Action) for a mid-week retreat targeted for adults! Get away, be refreshed, learn, and grow during this time together. Accommodations are in the comfortable and new Kuehner Retreat Center (single or double rooms with private bathrooms). Activity options may include nature walks, discussions on topics concerning the second half of life, Bible studies, stargazing, campfire fellowship, and fab-ulous food. Adult women of all ages and life situations have five opportunities to gain vision and strength for the new year. Bring a group to deepen fellowship with women you know – or come alone to find kindred spirits in Wild Women from across the southeast.

This year we’ll explore biblical leadership as we meet Deborah, Huldah, Lydia, Pricilla, Phoebe and oth-ers whom God calls. Come to discover your own unique leadership style and learn how to say YES and NO to leadership roles in faithful ways. Come to the mountain this New Year for time as a family to ski and celebrate with loved ones. We will handle coordinating ski rentals, lift tickets, and evening programming. The retreat will begin Saturday evening with dinner and end with breakfast on Tuesday. Sunday and Monday can be spent skiing at Wolf Ridge Ski Resort, and evening programming will be taken care of by Lutheridge staff, including a New Year’s Eve party Monday night!

Quilt Retreat at Luther Springs February 18-22, 2013

Come spend a week with other quilters in the relaxed atmosphere of Luther Springs. There will be fellowship, worship, and projects for gift ideas and a non-profit group (past projects included Lutheran World Relief, Lutheran Services of Florida, and Resurrection House children’s choir).

Teachers will be there to assist with the projects, as well as to answer questions regarding different tech-niques. Feel free to work on your own projects instead. There will also be great food, a day trip to a local quilt shop, as well as the opportunity to share some of your own creations!

Get ready to “bump, set, and spike!” your way through the late night hours! Youth groups, start practicing! Can you become the new volley-ball champs and take home the trophy? The Volleyball Marathon is sure to be full of fun, fellowship, worship, and plenty of volleyball! Please bring 1-2 chaperones per team. This is a fund-raising event for Luther Springs.

Come to the mountains to enjoy life serenity of fly fishing. This men’s retreat at Lutherock offers an opportunity to be in a place where God can teach us a lot about ourselves an faith through the mountain waters.

There is time for learning knots, entomology, and casting practice before heading out together to the river on Saturday and Sunday morning.

Through devotions and worship, we will prepare for time of re-flection and prayer; enhancing the fishing experience beyond just catch and release. A North Carolina fishing license is required and can be purchased online at www.ncwildlife.org. There will be a limited amount of basic gear available to rent.

River Rat Ramble Weekend March 1-3, 2013

Are you a River Rat? Are you ready to spend your weekend canoe-ing down the river? Join us on the water for a weekend of canoeing, workshops, fellowship, and worship. Mix with other youth groups from around the state and rock out with our band! Please include 1 adult for every 10 youth.

Due to the lack of rain this spring and flooding rains in June, we are unable to guarantee the Santa Fe river will be viable in March 2013. We are looking at other rivers and camp/retreat centers. We are also planning a Ramble in Northeast Florida in additional to the Ramble in Northwest Central Florida. Check our website (www.lmofla.org) in October for updated information. The Faith Center is transformed into a scrapper’s haven with tables and work space for 60. New ideas are shared between beginners and experienced, traditional and digital scrapbookers.

This weekend is dedicated to scrapbooking and sprinkled with fun, inspiration, fellowship, devotions, and Sunday worship. Come and enjoy the dedicated time with no distractions! Be spoiled by the camp chef all weekend and no housekeeping tasks! All are welcome!

Registration Information (Info You Need to Know):

Visit www.llmi.net or www.lomfla.org for a registration form or to register online.

REGISTRATION: You may register on-line by going to www.llmi.net or www.lomfla.org and

clicking on “Registration”. As part of the online registration process, you will be prompted to

download all neccessary paperwork (welcome letters, waivers, and schedules; Faith Alive!

campers will need to complete the health form). You will receive an automatic email con-

firmation of your registration upon completion. Please make sure your email server lists all

emails from @lutheridge.com, @lutherock.com, @llmi.org, and @campbrain.com as accept-

able.

Those that register by the paper form will receive a mailed packet containing the applicable

information.

If there is any problem with your registration after it has been submitted, the registration of-

fice will contact you. All space is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

PAYMENTS/DEPOSITS: Programs of three nights or less: full payment is due when you reg-

ister. Programs of four or more nights: a non-refundable deposit of $150 per adult and $25

per child (16 and under) is required when you register. The balance is due no later than four

weeks prior to the beginning of the event. Credit cards: LLMI accepts payments by Master-

Card, Visa, or Discover by mail, fax or on-line.

NON-SUMMER CANCELLATION/REFUNDS: For programs of three nights or less: If you

cancel a registration at least three weeks prior to the event, you may request 50% of full fee.

If you cancel a registration with less than three weeks notice, but more than 72 hours notice,

you may request 25% of full fee. If you do not cancel with a 72 hour notice we will be unable

to refund any monies.

For programs of four or more nights: If you cancel a registration at least three weeks prior

to the event, you may request a full refund minus the deposit. If you cancel a registration with

less than three weeks notice, but more than 72 hours notice, you may request 50% of full fee

minus the deposit. If you do not cancel with a 72-hour notice we will be unable to refund any

monies.

SCHOLARSHIP: A scholarship fund is available to provide assistance to camp/program par-
