Q: Does the city currently have any debt? When was the last time Gulfport owed on any debts?

A: According to City Manager Jim O’Reilly, the only debt Gulfport currently has is the $1.5 million from the revolving loan fund. The loan comes from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and will be used for sewer repairs. Once the project is completed, the city will have 20 years to pay it back.

Other than that, “there have been no debts in my time nor my predecessor's time here,” O’Reilly said, a length of time that spans over a decade.

“Though we do have a line of credit for new garbage trucks,” O’Reilly said.
