STAGE 1: SELECTING A MAIN IMAGE

Firstly, selected our main image for the newspaper advert by going through our footage and screen-

shotting a clip.

STAGE 2: DUPLICATING LAYERS AND MAGIC WAND TOOL

We then made a duplicate layer of the image and used the magic wand tool to cut out the garage so that we could edit footage onto it, without ruining the rest of the image.

STAGE THREE: ADDING ANOTHER IMAGE

We then added another image which was also a screen-shot from our footage.

STAGE FOUR: EXTRACTING IMAGES, VECTOR MASK AND GRADIENT TOOL

From this larger image, the magic wand tool was used to extract two images and then we used a vector mask on each and a gradient tool to give them a faded effect to make it look like they were part of the graffiti.

STAGE FIVE: PUT THE IMAGES TOGETHER

We then put the extracted images onto the image that we cropped out before and then linked them to the layer (garage).

STAGE 6: ADDED EDITED/EXTRACTED IMAGES TO THE MAIN IMAGE

We then added the garage back to the main layer in the exact same place that it was in the first time, but obviously placed it over the top of the first later; in order to see the edited layer.

STAGE 7: ADDING SHAPES AND THE CHANNEL LOGO

After adding the background image, we added in a channel 4 logo (maintain the channel 4 advert theme) and blended it into the image using hard light) in order to still see some of the background image behind it. Also, we used the shape tool to add in black rectangles to go behind the text to make in stand out and maintain the channel four poster advert theme.

STAGE 8: ADDING TEXT, ALTERING THE CONTRAST AND FINISHING THE ADVERT

The font we used is walkway because it’s easy to read and tries to stick to the channel 4 formal theme, altered the contrast by making it higher in order to prevent the advert looking dull but not too much to make it seem unrealistic.
