LAST DAY TERM 4 FOR STUDENTS

20th December 2018

There have been many events and student performances over the last week.

I would like to talk about one of these memorable moments.

Dianne Wright has provided an annual concert at The Valley Village Mews in

Stud Road since 1995. On Thursday, it was Annual Concert No 24!! The

dancing, singing, instrumentals and performing were exhilarating. The smiles on

the faces of those in the audience told a story of the timeless feelings that our

performers conveyed to everyone. Congratulations to Dianne Wright and

Elizabeth Ralph for her choreographing of the dance movements and to the

students and staff who took part in the performance. You have done it again !!

Value of the Week

We will be studying the value, Purposefulness for the next 2 weeks.

Purposefulness is being very clearly focused on something. Purposeful people set goals and work hard to

achieve them. The Emerson staff are currently testing our students on their current goals as listed in their Individual

Education Plans. Those students who were purposeful in working towards achieving those goals will be pleased with

their reports!

The “I Sea I Care” Excursion

On the 21st of November the “I Sea I Care” Ambassadors went on the final excursion to Pencil Park in

Keysborough. We learnt how to identify different species of frogs. Then we went for a walk around the reserve.

We looked at native frog habitats. Next we went searching for invertebrates and we had to try to identify their

species. Next we had to figure out which dolphin and whales had the same fins. Finally we had a talk from

Dean who was Aboriginal. He talked about their culture and beliefs and the history of Australia. My favourite

part was the talk by Dean and the BBQ.
