Chairman’s bit: Hi All August already, soon be Christmas AGAIN I have to say a big thank you to every single member for doing what you do. We are quickly approaching 15,000 call-outs, an amazing story in any Blood Bike Group. _________________________ As some of you may already know, especially the Northern Members, Andy Griffiths has stood down as Northern Area Manager, which is hardly surprising because of what he has been through recently, and Steve Dunstan has taken on the mantle. Andy was the North AM for almost 3 years and did a great job and I personally would like to thank him for that. Of course Andy has not left us, he will still be a rider and continue to do new rider assessments as well as the 3 year Advanced assessments. _________________________ Another Relay Run, but LONG At 09:15 on Tuesday 28 th July 2015 and the Chairman received a call from Dumfries Blood Bikes (Only set up 2 months ago) asking if we could help with a relay run. “No problem says the Chairman, where’s it going?” “Charing Cross!” was the reply. “Bloomin Eck!” So wheels in motion, Cumbria BB contacted and Shropshire & Staffordshire BB, SSBB in turn contacted SERV OBN and it got underway. Sample collected at 09:45 and delivered at 19:56, a distance of 350 miles carried out by 5 Blood Bike Groups and 6 riders. Fantastic job. Easy! And it was soon realised that you shouldn’t say thinks like that, because: On Wednesday 29 th approximately 15.30 the Chairman received a call from Maria Burn, Analytics Manager at RPH, “Can you do a relay run in the morning from RPH to Great Ormand Street Hospital, London, with a sample from a poorly little boy?” “Of course we can we’re becoming experts at this”, replied the Chairman, and we started the ball rolling again. Collected at 08:32 and delivered by SERV OBN via SSBB at 13:13, job done. All this proves what a fantastic Group and organisation we belong too, it is truly amazing as are all you Guys and Gals (Riders, Controllers, Fundraisers, etc.) for doing what you do. _________________________ A funny day at Court As you know I attend Court occasionally in an official capacity and the other day I was Chairman in Court and a prolific shoplifter was in the dock. He had stolen items from a well known bargain basement shop to the value of £30. I asked him why he had chosen that particular shop and his reply was, “WELL, THEY’RE CHEAP IN THERE”??????? Chairman’s bit: Hi All

August already, soon be Christmas AGAIN J

I have to say a big thank you to every single member for doing what you do. We are quickly approaching 15,000 call-outs, an amazing story in any Blood Bike Group.

As some of you may already know, especially the Northern Members, Andy Griffiths has stood down as Northern Area Manager, which is hardly surprising because of what he has been through recently, and Steve Dunstan has taken on the mantle.

Andy was the North AM for almost 3 years and did a great job and I personally would like to thank him for that. Of course Andy has not left us, he will still be a rider and continue to do new rider assessments as well as the 3 year Advanced assessments.

A funny day at Court

As you know I attend Court occasionally in an official capacity and the other day I was Chairman in Court and a prolific shoplifter was in the dock. He had stolen items from a well known bargain basement shop to the value of £30. I asked him why he had chosen that particular shop and his reply was, “WELL, THEY’RE CHEAP IN THERE”???????

Pride Award from Southport/Ormskirk

Mr & Mrs Miles Turner attended the Southport & Ormskirk attended an award ceremony on our behalf, as you know. Sadly we didn’t win first prize, but we did get a Pride Award, and that’s what we all should be “PROUD” of what we do.

Leyland Eagles

Carl Farber & Paul Brooks were TOLD to attend the meeting of Leyland Eagles by The Bish, which they obviously did and were presented with a cheque for £1,200. Marvellous! 1200 thanks to them, they’re a great bunch with hearts of gold.

Kite Festival

On Saturday 25th & 26th July, although the 26th was a wash out weather wise. Organised and run by Bob & Jeanette Chesters with many others turning up. A roaring success, well done everyone.

MAD MCC

Morecambe Bay Classic Motorcycle Club held a BBQ despite heavy rain and raised a cheque for £230 which was later boosted by collections to £320.65

Our new Northern Manager, Steve Dunstan and his ever suffering wife, Caroline went as his carer J Thanks Caroline for looking after him J

Matt Reissiger gets married

Vicky was escorted to the venue by Rob Newsham and Paul Brooks, well it was certainly nicer than escorting a funeral. Matt certainly picked the best summer day too and he has just passed his Bus test, first time. Congratulations Matt on all counts.

Mick Steel, Fylde rider, recently found out that if we produce our ID at Go Outdoors we can get a 10% discount. Thanks for that Mick.

There is also a Blue Light Card, which can be applied for by any of our members if you refer to NWBB Lancs & Lakes (Blood Bikers). Simply go to this link and join.

https://www.bluelightcard.co.uk

This gives great discounts in many outlets for B&T’s riders and members.
