    On Friday we have a Pupil Free Day dedicated to

    AusVels and Anaphylaxis Professional

    Development.

    AusVELS is the Foundation to Year 10 curriculum

    that provides a single, coherent and comprehensiveset of prescribed content and common

    achievement standards, which schools use to plan

    student learning programs, assess student progress

    and report to parents.

    AusVELS incorporates the Australian Curriculum F-

    10 for English, Mathematics, History and Science

    within the curriculum framework first developed

    for the Victorian Essential Learning Standards

    (VELS). AusVELS uses an eleven level structure to

    reflect the design of the new Australian Curriculumwhilst retaining Victorian priorities and approaches

    to teaching and learning.

    Overview

    Program: The Story So Far... ACARA and AusVELS

    Purposes: To clarify AusVELS & DEECD

    expectations, to provide opportunity and essential

    IT skills for accessing and utilising Curriculum

    Organiser Australia online, and to provide guidance

    and support to each teacher in accordance with

    their individual roles, needs and readiness.

    - Overview of ACARA Phase I implementation

    (English, Mathematics, Science & History)

    - AusVELS Levels and Progression Points

    - Bringing it together: ESA, Australian Curriculum,

    AusVELS, Scootle, ERS and Curriculum OrganiserAustralia

    - Online access: Curriculum Organiser Australia

    structure, functionality and essential skills

    - Researching Curriculum Organiser online -

    planning, teaching, assessment and reporting

    templates and tools

    - Creating a PCC (Personal Curriculum Centre)

    Anaphylaxis Training

    This Nationally Accredited Anaphylaxis Training

    course will provide staff with the crucial knowledge

    and skills so that they can recognise signs of a

    severe allergic reaction and provide appropriate

    first aid treatment for anaphylaxis. Staff will also

    learn how to develop and implement strategies to

    prevent allergic and anaphylactic reactions.

    Orders for Sausage Sizzle should have been in

    today sorry but no late orders can be

    accepted.

    The Walkathon will take place on Wednesday12

    thJune this is a fundraiser to support Nathan

    Brill, an ex-student, who is representing

    Australia in the Ukraine in July. Nathan will

    compete in the 10,000m walk at the IAAF World

    Youth Championships. He will participate in our

    walkathon encouraging the students to achieve

    their best result. Also on the day Axel Foley (our

    DJ from the discos) has offered to play music to

    make the event a fun day for all. Sponsor sheets

    should be returned by Wednesday next week so

    the students laps can be recorded and then senthome for students to collect the money and

    return by Friday 21st June. Thank you inanticipation of your support.

    Student of the WeekStudents will be presented with certificates at Monday

    morning assembly.

    Prep B Mrs Bos Max McIntosha co-operative class

    member who does lovely drawings and colouring in.

    Prep P Mrs Prossor Shelby McCormack for being a

    nice friend and the improvements she is making in her

    independent writing.1/2B Mrs Baird Luke Santamaria for being a keen

    learner and a high achiever. Luke always tries to follow

    the RICH Values.

    1/2H Mrs Hughes Isabella Conduit for being an

    enthusiastic, self motivated learner. She always exhibits

    our RICH School Values.

    1/2P Miss Perkins Leigh Rosowski - for his

    enthusiastic working attitude. Leigh has worked hard this

    week, practicing his sh th and f sounds and using

    correct words to demonstrated each. He is bringing his

    reader to school regularly and always has a big smile on

    his face. Well done Leigh!

    3/4T Miss Withers Trista Norman - Trista is a great

    friend to others and always puts the feelings of others

    first. She is a hard working student and always tries her

    best. It's a pleasure to have you in the classroom, keep

    up the great work.

    3/W Ms Walton Max Holberyfor his interesting

    diorama which was one of the Reduce Reuse Recycle

    activity choices.

    5/6B Mrs Bruin Kiera Roy for a fantastic

    performance at the cross country and an outstanding

    display of sportsmanship. You are a great role model.

    5/6QMiss Quintin Alex Mcilfatrick - You're always

    willing to give a helping hand in our classroom. Keep up

    the fantastic work with a smile!

    Art/Craft (Ms Lee / Mrs Campbell) Riley Chen 3/4T-

    for his enthusiastic attitude in designing his hat.

    Bernie Walsh Art Award - 3/4T for their fabulous hat

    designs using the principles of Reduce Reuse Recycle

    Breakfast Clubis a HUGE success

    and the children are thoroughly enjoying

    coming to school and having breakfast

    with their friends. All children are more

    than welcome to come along each Tuesday

    and Thursday and have some cereal, toast

    and juice. A BIG thankyou to the many

    parents who help out on each of these days. Over the two

    days this week 90 children had brekky on Tuesday and

    65 this morning. Some children have brekky at home and

    then enjoy some toast with their friends and their more

    than welcome to do that !

    Grade Two Garden ProjectThe Grade Two students have been busy coming up with

    ideas for the Pelican Learning Centres courtyards. They

    have been involved with planting a variety of plants in

    the boats and weeding our fruit trees.

    Last week. Amity, James & Samantha attended

    Rosebud Primary Strings Day. Samantha and

    James were part of a special performance group

    of the more experienced violinists. Sophie

    attended as a tutor. Thanks Justine

    PJ day for the Tootgarook WetlandsThanks to all the children and staff who wore PJsand onesies to help support our local wetlands. Our

    students donated a gold coin and raised $226.00.

    Well done and thankyou to everyone who donated.

    EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FOR THE FOLLOWING MARKET POSITION

    MARKET OPERATI ON-ROLE (4am-10am plus 3hrs prep)

    Expressions of interest are called for the 'Market Operation Role', 4am-10am. The successful candidate will work closely

    with the Tootgarook School Council Market Committee. The role has a reimbursement component and the selection

    process conducted by Tootgarook Primary School Council. The job description is listed below and expressions of interest

    must be received by Friday 14th June, 4.30pm. (Andrew Thomson has offered to work with the successful applicant over

    the next couple of markets)

    2 year position

    MUST BE AT SCHOOL BY 4.00amKeys required: Master key

    Security key (alarm)

    Key for Hall and Canteen

    Roller door storage

    Oval gate key (near public toilets)

    Hopper key

    Other items required: Torches etc

    Market Committee arrive at 4.30am

    Parent Volunteers- Arrive as directed from 6am

    Routine prior Market

    1. Arrange for market signs to be taken down to Nepean Highway at the end of Carmichael St

    2. Market sign at Rosebud SC and Rosebud PS to be confirmed by phone

    3. Various street signs placed and retrieved

    4. Set up Hall with trestle tables-Friday after school, including BBQ

    5. Mark out oval

    6. Sort Market markers

    7. Gas bottles

    8. Turn on urn

    9. Mats in hall rolled up

    10. Bunnings pre purchase any hardware items required e.g. batteries

    11. Upkeep of toilets during market hours

    Routine prior to letting in cars

    12. Open main door and turn off security alarm.

    13. Open Hall and Canteen turn off alarm.

    14. Open roller door and get the site markers out.

    15. Unlock padlock on barrier near sports shed and oval.

    16. Unlock all toilets

    17. Whilst site markers are being put out, get out BBQ and move to front of the canteen.

    18. Set up trestle in front of canteen.

    19. Arrange for dog signs to be placed near entry points of school grounds on gate near bike shed, on main gate

    near large gum tree, on gate near rubbish hopper, along fence in Wilkinson Street, on Quinns Park sign downBurdett Street end of oval. Place the sign about dogs on one side and emergency vehicle access on the other on

    the oval gate near public toilets.

    20. Move rubbish bins on to site 4 placed around oval, 3 on ashphalt/Carmichael Street end of school.

    21. Take float to the canteen only when canteen manager arrives

    22. Get Walkie-talkies for use in getting cars onto site.

    When gates open

    - Role is to ensure safe traffic flow outside of school in Carmichael & Wilkinson Streets. Casuals are to line up on

    kerb side, Permanents form a second line on the outside.

    -Toilets, maintain during the course of the market

    Sausage sizzle

    1. Light BBQ.

    2. Put out white tables and chairs.

    3. Set up Shelter for canteen, if required.
